Adrien Broner sex tape got leaked. In it, he's having a threesome with two strippers.

The whole Gatti story is so incredible a film will never do it justice.

Reality is always more insane than fiction.

Most people don't realize he had mulitple mindboggling come from behind wins and Fights of The Year before the trilogy with Micky Ward.

(The only reason he didn't have more "Fights of The Year" was because many of them happened in the same year).

I still can't believe the circumstances in under which he passed.

That's boxing for you; the ugliest and most beautiful thing in the world.

I was at Gatti's fight against Gabriel Ruelas where Gatti came from behind to knockout Ruelas. I believe that was fight of the year for 1997. It was on the undercard of the Lennox Lewis-Andrew Golota fight. I went to the fight with my friend and I remember saying to him, "The Lewis-Golota fight is going to be really great, but there is some guy fighting on the undercard. His name is Arturo Gatti and he is a shoobie. We shouldn't even waste our time watching this guy." In any event, we got there a little before the Gatti fight started and saw every minute of it. The Gatti fight was fight of the year. Golota got floored halfway through the first round. You just never know sometimes.

That is smooth as hell.

I had to look up the term "shoobie".

Gatti was actually born in Italy and grew up in Montreal before moving to Jersey City.

I have swooped a few Italian girls from Montreal. One told me that there are 200,000 Italians in Montreal.

I actually wonder where he grew up in Montreal? Anyone know?

I'm surprised you didn't know what a shoobie was. You know people from Cape May County.

I'm confused as to where Arturo Gatti was born. The sources say he was born in Italy and that his brother Joe (a pretty good boxer who couldn't take a punch so well) was born in Montreal. If you see videos with Arturo, he clearly states he was born in Montreal. I don't get it. He's from Montreal's Little Italy. I forget the name right now.

Montreal has a rich boxing history.

The fighting Hilton family is from there. I used to like them when I was a young pup. Super tragic family. One died really young and Davey did some real f*cked up sh*t.

Real heavy boozing, boxing Irish family. Lot's of problems with the law.

Just found a docu on them, I may have to watch:

Meet the Fighting Hiltons. Out of 5 brothers, all 5 have been amateur boxers, 4 have been professional. Their great grandfather, grandfather and father were all boxers. Their father was Canadian champion for 10 years and was an acquaintance of Ali.

Matthew (32 (24 KO)-3 (1KO)-2) was a beast, a pure powerful slugger. He beat Buster Drayton to win the IBF junior middleweight title in an underrated war. He defended his title twice. He went on to fight for the WBO middleweight title, but lost.

Amateur record = 108-0

Davey Jr (41 (26KO)-2 (0KO)-2) may have been the best fighter out of the bunch. Unfortunately, he was the most crazy, deranged to the point of raping his own daughters. He has been Middleweight Canadian champion, no. 1 ranked welterweight contender and WBC super-middleweight champion of the world. Jail time ruined him.

Amateur record = 133-2

Alex (37 (23KO)-11 (7KO)-0) never became world champion, but he has been Canadian middleweight champion.
Amateur record = 104-1

Stewart (4 (1KO)-0-0) had a short lived professional career.
Amateur record = 60-7

Jimmy never turned professional.
Amateur record = 6-1

Recapitulation : 5 brothers who had great amateur careers, 4 of which turned professional, 2 world champions (jmw IBF and smw WBC), 2 Canadian middleweight champions.

Broner is fight in San Antonio. Press conference tomorrow. Can't make it but will be at the fight. We have a triple header in Corpus on the ninth of November. Floor seats go for 300. Perfect time to rock my suit.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.

Broner will be a pretty heavy favorite and there is some chance he will lose. It's not my practice to bet on the underdog, but I seriously considered putting five figures on Maidana. After thinking it over, I decided that I couldn't bet on someone who is that poor defensively. In general, the top Argentine boxers are tough, they hit hard, but they're just too easy to hit.

You are low on Broner? I've only seen two of his fights. One was a third round KO and his last fight. I dont know. To drop 10K Maidana is you telling me something I dont know. I do want a quick lick too. What are the odds? I think Broner has been hurt once right? Mane you are making me wonder. Get cheap seats and put 500 on the underdog. Going to watch some fights now haha.

First off, Broner argueably lost to Daniel Ponce DeLeon, who is not a top-tier fighter and was much smaller than Broner's future opponents will be. Second, I think he was exposed in the Paulie Malignaggi fight. Malignaggi is a light puncher, but has good overall boxing skills. In that fight, Broner showed that he is not very good defensively and that his power is not that great at 147. Broner shound be between a -300 and -500 favorite. Again, after thinking it over, I am not confident enough to bet on Maidana, but I wouldn't be too surprised if he pulls off an upset.

On the topic of Amateur boxing, and Montreal, this is a really stylish short documentary made in 1961 about 3 guys training for the Golden Gloves Championship:

http://www.nfb.ca/film/golden_gloves (can't embed, video plays on the page)

Hard to explain, but it feels very raw and authentic, seeing the older men kicking it at the restaurant and the young guys getting in their road work at a rail yard.

I grew up watching docs and short flicks from the National Film Board of Canada, really inspirational.

Not sure if it was mentioned here yet, but 30 for 30 on ESPN has a good docu on Leonard VS Duran.

It is made pretty much 100% from Leonards perspective but good none the less.

Noted.

I would love to game at that farmers market!

I do okay with Canadian girls because I bring the Latin Flair that is exotic to them, if I can control myself and convince them that I am sane!

Whats the best fight that you guys have been to?

I was at Tyson-McNeely, Mike's first fight out of prison.

Also, that same day, in the morning, Terry Norris fought in a world championship fight at the MGM. It was free, first come, first served. I got there early and sat front row. Amazing!

Then, they kicked everybody out of the MGM arena to set up for the Tyson fight. I came back that night and it was like Hollywood, hundreds of celebrities were everywhere.

I went to the bathroom to take a piss and at the 4 urinals were me, Don Cornelius, Patrick Ewing and ???. I forgot the last guy. Maybe, Charles Oakley or Robert Horry?

I saw dozens of NFL/NBA players. I saw Biggie, T-Boz, and dozens of other celebs. I sat behind the rap group "Salt N Pepper". Their DJ "Spinderella" was eye balling me all night. I was wearing a clean, white suit. I tell the story HERE.

The place was packed with gangsters, hustlers, and pimps from all over the country. It was really a spectacle that night.

I also went to De La Hoya-Chavez. Similar situation but more Latino then Black. Lots of rich Mexicans.

I've also seen Iran Barkley and "Irish" Pat Lawlor.

I want to see Bernard up close. He usually runs at the UNLV track in the mornings when he fight in Vegas.

McNeely was actually a good fighter, just not on the level of Tyson.

I'm getting a little tired of the welter/feather/junior middleweight crowd. I still remember watching a press conference when Don King referred to Lennox Lewis as "Lewis Lennox". Those were the days.

I was actually surprised that Stevens lasted that long last night. That was only the third time in his career that Golovkin went eight rounds. If Golovkin fights Sergio Martinez next September, which is a big if, put it all on Golovkin. I can't see Martinez beating him and being that many pound for pound lists have Martinez listed as number 3 or 4, Martinez may even be the favorite, or at worse, a very slight underdog. I've watched as many videos of both Golovkin and Martinez's past fights as possible. Golovkin takes him and everyone else at 160.

What about "Irish" Mike Perez!

Great nickname for a Black, Cuban fighter!!!

He can fight! Those Cubans are so well schooled! That guy Rigondeaux is best boxer I've seen all year, except for Floyd and honestly he is right up their with Floyd in terms of fundamentals, talent and instincts.

Golovin looked great. What fundamentals. He fights old school. Great footwork + great jab! He showed the power of a real jab! Everyones wants to get off their power shots but a good old fashioned stiff jab is a boxers best friend. Also, he has great technique on all his punches. Really generates power and torque. And, textbook footwork. He is a great example of how to box.

Martinez vs Golovin will be a good one. Who wants it more? Who is the better athlete? Who is tougher? Whose heart will prevail? Tough to say. I'm rooting for the old guy because I am the same age as Martinez.

What about the guy who fought with the broken face???

People have no idea how tough these men are. These guys are the toughest people on the planet.

That stuff would kill and average human being.

The Lone Star State will play host to an exciting Top Rank tripleheader featuring two world championship fights and a grudge rematch between former world champions that’s been building for over six years. Two-time World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior lightweight champion Roman “Rocky” Martinez, undefeated former WBO featherweight champion Mikey Garcia, 2012 Fighter of the Year Nonito “Filipino Flash” Donaire and former two-division world champion Vic “Raging Bull” Darchinyan will host a news conference announcing their November 9 world championship extravaganza at the American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Also featured is a clash of undefeated former U.S. Olympians — Vanes “The Nightmare” Martirosyan and Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade — world-rated #1 and #2, respectively, battling for the vacant WBO junior middleweight title. All three fights will be televised live on HBO.

Great card in my home town. Nobody to roll with. Probably get the floor and suit up. Question is, do I take pussy or roll solo and hit a bar or club suited up. Corpus is hot right now. Temps slowly dipping but you rarely see suits. I can peacock to the fullest and maybe pull. I havent pulled in a bar for a while. Most of my game here in Corpus has been online.

As far as the fight, I'll check the lines this week. Review some fights and places some bets. I am crunk as hell for this weekend. Ill take some photos for the thread.

Garcia in 6. I wish I could bet on it. Like it or not, the future of the sport is Mikey Garcia and Gennady Golovkin, not Alvarez, although Alvarez has a future.

If he doesn't lose against Marcos Maidana (I'm really not sure about that fight because of Maidana's defensive problems), he will lose fairly soon after the Maidana fight. As I stated before, Broner argueably lost to Daniel Ponce De Leon and got exposed against Paulie Malignaggi. Broner is not a great defensive boxer and his power is questionable at 147. Put him in with Danny Garcia or Matthysse, and he will very likely lose.

Froch v Groves is a fight hotting up in the UK. Froch is the massive favorite, but Groves is a very efficient counter-puncher who works very well on the back foot - something Froch struggles against. Could be a great fight.

Regarding Broner, I dislike his personality. It may be a false one for the cameras, but nevertheless... He gets hit way too much to be Mayweather's heir.

GGG beats every other champion in his division, I am intrigued and excited as to whether he carries the power up to Super-Middle. If he does, then he poses huge problems to everyone in that weight class. He's my favorite fighter to watch at the moment, he has everything: Excitement, Technique and... 'Likeability'. He's absolutely awesome. One of the best Middleweights in history already IMO. I mean, Macklin said he was streets ahead of Martinez, and he's been in with both, so his judgement is good evidence.

He isn't in the same universe of any "best in history" lists at this stage.

Andrade took it in a split decision. He isnt ready for any top level talent yet.

Filipino Flash looks timid as hell. He might have taken one out of the first six rounds. I think his opponent is a smaller fighter. Not used to seeing Donaire like this. It's sad.

Edit: Donaire pulled a brutal knockout out of his ass. Cool. Hopefully he can hit a little roll. Still looked bad tonight though. I guess he was waiting for his shot.

The cycle of disrespect can start with just an appetizer.
