PS4 all the way just because X Box one won't allow you to buy and play used games without paying a "fee". Fuck Microsoft.
I have a PS3 but I don't see the point in upgrading to a PS4 regardless.

How much will PS4 cost?
Will dvds and Blu Ray's look better on it than ps3?
Can you play used games?
Can you play old PS3 games?
I hardly play PS3 games so I wont be getting it anytime soon, regardless of the answers to my questions. I'm thinking about getting a Nintendo 64 and tearing that bitch up for a few months or years. Funny how those old games that look like shit compared to the new ones are still so much fun.

PS4 is 400. XBone is 500. Blu Rays will probably look the same unless there is a resolution difference between the two systems and the system can upscale to the native resolution. I don't know about ps3 games on it but you can play used games on it. Check the first video no restrictions at all and you don't need to be online all the time either.
Super nintendo games are still fun back when they had more gameplay and less cinematics.
I will post more videos later I think they will cover all lot. And this will effect betas and most guys you know so its good to know about it. I have more interest than usual since I still do game art as a hobby. The newer systems should be easier to design for art wise since their are less heavy restrictions need to make the art.

There really isn't as much to distinguish game systems as their used to.
Back in the day, a Sega Master System versus Nintendo or a Sega Genesis versus Super Nintendo meant a dramatically different experience. For example, one system would have a completely different color palate, sound capability, and overall *feel*. When a game was ported to both a Sega and Nintendo system, you just knew which was which based off the general sound, graphics, and ambiance.
Today aside from horse power and controls, there's little to distinguish an Xbox from a Playstation.

I'm probably not going to get either of them for at least the next two years. The full capabilities of the ps3 have not even been reached yet.

For some reason I've developed the feeling that a grown man shouldn't be playing video games. It really is a complete and utter waste of time...I'd say having even less value than fucking around on youtube all day or watching movies...you can at least socialize about youtube videos and movies and show them to girls, etc. It's basically just like jerking off. Video gaming offers no value whatsoever beyond you're "in the moment" entertainment. What do you take away with it? I realize many modern games play like movies or novels. I played all the way through Metal Gear Solid 4 back in the day and remember it having more of an impact than just "playing a game"...but really not that much and who are you going to talk with about the story line and take-aways of a video game?
Anyway, I pretty much stopped playing my PS3 a year or two ago, but I'm always interested to see what the next gen consoles will bring, even if I don't plan on buying one. And the final year or two of a system always yields the best games as developers fully understand and utilize the system, so I expect some solid PS3 titles still to come as well.

I just want a games machine. I don't want to be able to post high scores on to facebook, or any of that shit. Online Gaming is my limit for an 'interactive' experience. Microsoft have said they want their system to be the hub of your living room. I don't want that, I just want to be able to play games. I've got a laptop for all the other stuff it does.
What is the PS4 offering?

GTA5 is coming out for the PS3 and Xbox360, I don't think there are plans to have it for the 2 new ones. Fifa 14 is however coming out on all 4 of the consoles.

Pre-ordered a PS4. I want a blue-ray player (although I know most shit is streaming now), since I only have a DVD player now. Games are kind of secondary (for now).

Xbox One isn't backward compatible with any Xbox 360 games or peripherals. Microsoft shot themselves in the foot, and Sony is now laughing and stomping on the wound in their ad campaign.

I'd rather get a Wii U.
The Narc Box One and the Snitch Station 4 are obviously going to be watching everything you guys do.
Nope.

I do indeed, but I don't play online I'm afraid - no XBox live subscription. I'm assuming that you were going to ask me that, apologies if not!

I still have a ton of games to play on the 360 and don't see buying a next gen system after that. If so, and epic game like Final Fantasy might draw me in. I wish they were still making great computer games (not MMO's).

I'm not sure someone has said it already but I choose neither. My computer is powerful enough to play nearly any game on high and on top of that, it can be used for many other things besides playing rehashed and overpriced games. In fact... I don't actually game anymore so I guess my opinion is a bit pointless. Otherwise, if I had to choose one of them, it would be the PS4 for all of the reasons stated above by houston.
