Ideas For A New Hobby?

Walking- free activity, great feeling I love it and will be a life time walker. I average 5 miles a day(I dont own a car)

People watching- I love people watching it allows you to really get a feel for other people when they are out in public assuming no one is measuring them up.

Learn to make Cocktails- Study and perfect the art of making mixed drinks. If someone can make me an old fashioned I am much more open to wanting to be friends with them.

Set yourself up with helping foreign students/immigrants- My buddy did this in College and he was drowning in Asian ass. Now he is set up overseas from his contacts he made in College.

Its been to long for me to remember the specifics of this but basically it was like helping foreign students with language/cultural immersion.

I have another friend who volunteers helping illegals (mexicans, el salvadorians etc) through his Catholic Church teaching them English. He tells me he is always being introduced to nice young girls through this. [Image: banana.gif]

Piano, Boxing. They are mine. I've trained in boxing since I was 14 on and off, it's a fantastic way to keep fit and boost your confidence. Piano is something I've recently started, it's brilliant.

2Wycked,

Giving your talents, I think you could write a kick ass book on a topic that interests you. You could learn something through research and then coin from selling it.

You are constantly providing deep insights to this forum. I am sure you could take one topic, research the hell out of it (seems like you enjoy reading and learning) and really make it informative and relevant for society.

This. Though maybe not with the expectation of too much money.

I can tell you have a pretty analytic mind, one thing that helps for staying interested in new hobbies is goal setting around new skills or pursuit of mastery.

Say you get bored with typical routines at the gym, maybe switch it up with a skill you always admired but never really seriously attempted. I'm thinking more bodyweight things like learning backflips, handstands, rope climbs, etc. You can go pretty in depth learning about all the different approaches, variations, etc. and will often surprise yourself.

Another checklist approach to hobbies is what else you can do to round yourself out as a man, as some posters have already mentioned. Self defense, hunting, organizing events/parties (leadership role), etc.

I'm one of those men that could retire tomorrow and never be bored, I find so many things interesting.

When people ask for advice about this, I usually tell them to focus on passions that give you a return on knowledge, physical skills, getting outside of comfort zone, etc.

This is opposed to things like collecting coins, stamps, etc. or hours of videogames each day, since at the end of it, you're left with either just niche material stuff, or simulated experiences.

Hunting, fishing, or wildlife photography.

It can take the "got her in the bag" aspect out of chasing women by getting the thrill of the stalk, chase, and kill/catch/pic from the hobby, freeing you up for LTR or chasing the highest quality women.

I know some guys who hunt and/or fish and still chase tail.

For others the hobby takes some of the need to chase women away.

IMO a lot of pick up is guys who don't get the thrill of the chase from nature and try to fill this intrinsic caveman need with women.
