If you haven't booked your place yet I would recommend something in Southside or downtown. Preferably Southside. Right in the middle of the best nightlife this city has to offer. There's something going on there every night.

Went to college in the 'burgh. Southside is usually poppin' off. How do you feel about Shadyside? I only went out a handful of times there only during the week though. It was hit or miss.

Southside is definitely always good. Friday's and Saturday's are a spectacle. I haven't been to Shadyside too many times recently. They've put a lot more bars and restaurant/bars up there in the last few years so supposedly it's a pretty good scene. I like southside more than anything else here though. 10+ years ago the strip district was the place to be with all of the clubs but it's almost dead down there anymore.
