Stupidity in the Manosphere

Guy posts article.
Article is clear and has a point.
Article has innocuous details to support and fill out said point.

Then

Commenters focus on the details, ignore the main point, and thereby destroy any sort of meaningful discussion that could have happened.

I guess this is bigger than the manosphere, but it's in pretty much every corner of the internet I frequent.

Just makes you wanna throw your hands up

Haters. They want to "catch your slipping." Positive people focus on the message rather than nit-pick the details for some trivial error.

Haters imply that they're trying to derail the train of thought on purpose. Feminists, White Knights, Trolls....

It's been my experience that the people i'm talking about, are really just too stupid to get it in the 1st place.

I tend to notice a lot of insecure, self-aggrandizing "more alpha than thou" bullshit in comments sections of red pill blog posts and around this forum.
Never quite understood why it's a competition to some people.

Of the truly accomplished and capable people I've met so far in my life, none have acted like that... Coincidence, I'm sure?

Welcome to the world of comment sections. Don't let it get you down (been there, still there sometimes). Some commenters are positive and have follow up questions, but for the most part they have axes to grind or hobby horses they can't get off of, which is why they feel like they must comment in the first place. The vast majority of readers will enjoy your post and move on or keep their thoughts to themselves.

This is why I read this forum. There's a lot of manosphere stuff that I don't agree with, but with a forum guys are more likely to actually converse with one another than just try to one up one another with stupid comments.

Comments sections tend to be cesspools and that extends far beyond the manosphere. Some of my favorite blogs have terrible comments sections.
