The most obvious solution is to set yourself on the time of your destination when you get on the plane.

I just flew Chicago to Beijing, 4pm departure arriving at 8pm Beijing time. I made sure I was tired when I arrived so I could sleep through the night. If I slept the whole flight I'd have been a greater jetlag victim.

Now 3 days later everything is fine. The only issue was waking up at 530 am the first day, but just push through it.

The real jetlag issues are red eyes JFK-LHR where your employer expects you to go immediately to work. Those suck

1. Get some rest, whether that's full in sleep or just chilling. Rest both your body and mind.
2. Stay hydrated. Water is your friend. Avoid coffee, tea or any other dehydrating drinks.
3. Could be placebo effect, but maybe not, but I feel my jet lag has also improved since I started eating dried cherries. I have a ~handful before, during and after my flight(s). Plus, they can help you take a dump, which ties into my point 2.

I do Intermittent Fasting anyway, so it isn't hard to not eat for 16 hours.

I eat as light as I can on the plane - "clean" or "cleaner" foods. Stay away from the salt and grease. Plus I snack on cherries and drink as much water as I can.

How do you guys deal with jet lag?

It gets a lot of hate here, but cannabis is by far the most effective sleep aid I have ever tried.

If you can, consume an edible pre-security. An edible will take about ~1 hour to start having effects so assuming you got to the airport and checked in by the time you get onto the plane and take off the "effects" will start kicking in.. It will effectively knock you out cold for the flight so you can sleep. If anything, you'll probably have the best flight ever. I've done this on red eyes before and I end up landing feeling fully rested and ready to go albeit with a bit of a mental "fog" that clears away in a few days.

If you can't go the edible route, have a friend smoke you down after you land. You'll have to fight the urge to fall asleep, but hit a healthy bowl right before you go to bed. You'll sleep soundly and most likely will sleep through that 2am wide awake. If you wake up in the middle of the night, hit a bowl and try to fall back asleep.

If you're not willing or unable to get some herb try ZMA, melatonin, and some GABA powder in a combination before bed. It will help reset your circadian rhythm.

I got the generic for ambien, I have taken it in the past with decent results but it has been a while. I do take ZMA nightly, so I will definitely have that on me. I do wonder if you can get addicted to ZMA, I take it every night (along with copper in the day to balance).
