I have a "collection" on my credit report and it's about $1,100 for a visit to a hospital.
The thing is I was covered by the public healthcare plan. They told me I had to bring in the paper to prove it. But that year I got sick about 8-9 times (tonsil problems) so it was kinda hard because I was always with no energy, in pain, etc.
That was in 2010, I think in 2011 my mother gave them the papers and they told her it would all be fixed. Today I was checking out my credit report and I notice there's a collection (they sent the debt to a collection agency). They had told that it would be fixed. It's 2012.
I know the papers were given late. But still, I was covered so they are trying to get money from me that I don't owe them.
What can I do to fix that? I think this damages my credit very badly.
