Thailand Hotel/Accomodation Bookings

some hotels charge for additional guests, others want to see her id and keep it until she leaves. I never had these issues since my girls look non-pro.

I spent a month travelling around Thailand last year. I found Asiarooms.com cheaper than Agoda, who are often full of shit with their fake discount percentages and "Book Now!! Only one room left!" when the hotel is half empty.

Booking.com is also full of this bullshit, which is the reason why I prefer hostel world (you can book hotels and apartments there as well, depending on the country).

directrooms.com lists all big websites and their prices for chosen dates and hotels. Very informative

Quick question for you experienced Thailanders, what is the deal with hotels in Thailand being girlfriendly, do any hotels have a no guest policy or is it pretty much assumed that lone male travelers will be bringing birds back to the rooms?

I assume bringing a tourist chick back wouldn't be an issue, but bringing a scantily dressed Thai gal might?

I'm considering hitting Phuket and/or Samui, if anyones had issues with cockblock hotels a heads up would be appreciated

Just came back from the islands in Thailand and will be posting a datasheet this weekend hopefully. In Koh Samui stayed at the Blue Lagoon hotel and it is guest friendly. They also have a sister hotel which isn't quite as nice but is about half the price, and if I went back I would stay there. Its called the Beachcomber. The pool isn't as nice as Blue Lagoon and the rooms were slightly inferior as well but the price is significantly better for not too much of a dropoff.

Didn't hit Phuket, but in Koh Phi Phi our hotel we found out was NOT guest friendly. This was the Phi Phi Casita, don't stay there if you want to bring chicks back. It can be done, but a total pain in the ass. Tried to bring a girl from Norway back unsuccessfully and was forced then to handle biz on the beach. It was handled, but with a paid for room I would have preferred the bed of course.

You better check the hotels in Phuket as I know they are not all "guest friendly".

What was their reason for not allowing you to bring a guest in? Cos you booked a single room?[/quote]
Also I have found that these days if you book a hotel room, the price is the same whether you book for 1 or 2 adults, since single rooms always have a double bed I guess, so I just always put the booking for 2. Then if you bring a guest back it shouldn't be a problem cos the room is booked for 2. Anyone had this fail before?

No, the reason they didn't allow it was because they had a policy of "No non hotel guests on the premises after 10PM". They actually then had a sign at night saying guests were allowed for "2,000 bhat (about $65US) and a passport". She didn't have her passport with her. I always book a double room also but in this case me and my boy were splitting a room rather than having our own as accommodations are THIN on Koh Phi Phi.

First time to Thailand and I get in at 1am last night. I bet to my hotel and head over to the 7-11.

The employees are drinking leos right out of the cooler like they own the place and invite me over. I ended up getting shit faced with a bunch of the 7-11 employees and I never paid for anything.

Other than paying 400baht for my taxi from airport to suk 21 I think Im like BKK alot.
