do this over and over again and eventually you'll be famous for your city. Eventually you'll meet people who do this for clubs.

Ex Club Promoter who used to throw wild house parties when I was 18.
I wasn't popular until after I'd do that stuff

These days this probably isn't my cup of tea but in my younger days I was always wanting to do stuff like this. Are you worried about liability? If there's a shooting or fire or some crazy shit goes down at some point someone is going to try to figure out who was behind the party.

Also, curious if you have any tips for location? Are you doing this in an abandoned wharehouse or working something out with an owner? How big do you try to make these parties?

I think the most surefire way is to take a ton of gear and become a presence in the fitness world. It requires no learnable skills or talents other than a willingness to inject shit ton of chemicals into your body and a knack for shameless self-promotion.

I would say being a drug dealer is the quickest way to "fame" on a local level at least. I remember watching one of these dateline shows about some 16 year olds who had some big pot ring and were going to all the hot clubs and stuff. Having connections and drugs at a young age puts you in demand with chicks and dudes, everyone wants to be your friend.

Back during college I was into stuff like that, wound up getting in a lot of trouble and setting my life back a couple years digging out of that mess and definately wouldn't recommend it but I'm sure you all know some gangly awkward dudes who sell a little weed or a little blow and get some girls and stuff who would otherwise be nobodies.

During college I used to have chicks like following me around at parties, granted thats not anything to do with me so much as what I had in my pocket but honestly you got a connect every dude wants to be your firend and every chick wants to hangout at your place and fuck you. This requires absoutely no skill or damage to your body but can land you in a heap of trouble.

Blogging is certainly one of the easiest but it can take a long time and is never a guarantee. Of course, nothing in life is ever guaranteed.

If you want to become known for anything you have to become skilled (or relevant) at something people are interested in, and then market yourself well. No easy task and at minimum most people will only ever scrape the surface of temporary mediocrity.

We live in an age where more people than ever are trying to become "someone." It's not enough to just focus on fame anymore. Like a lot of other posters have mentioned, fame takes timing, skill, positioning, and a lot of luck.

In my opinion, it's always better to focus and develop a skill or something you enjoy as a hobby. Stay driven but don't have high expectations. Put yourself out there but avoid obsessing over the end goal. Have fun, work hard, enjoy life, stay disciplined and driven, and good things will come.

Let me explore this thought about "blogging."

I never considered myself going into blogging. Because I have nothing to write about. I'm 23...what fucking life experiences do I have? Not much.

Meanwhile here are my hobbies:

Reading
Sleeping
Exercise/weight lifting
Basketball (ball is life)
Eating
Drinking
Booty

Out of these...which could I take public and get some fame for? Eating. Food. What if I became a local food blogger? (For the people - I'm in a small city of maybe 120k people. There are no "food critiques" here).

Any thoughts? I would love to have some "Anthony Bourdain" fame.

Don't sell yourself short. Sure you may not be able to write a blog about how to run a fortune 500 company but there's some stupid ass blogs out there. Look at all the celebrity blogs. Look at websites where some idiot draws you a picture of a cat for $10. There's so much stupid shit out there you don't have to be an expert to write a blog. If you are funny and witty you can write a blog about your daily bullshit and how you spilled milk pouring your cereal and you can get people reading it.

As far as your life you could make a workout blog, make a blog about college life or college dating. The possibilities are endless.

I had one more thought. If your looking to build fame you have to decide are you wanting to be like Hollywood worldwide fame or do you just want people to know your name and slap you on the back when you walk in somewhere?

Reason I ask is it's actually fairly easy to build fame locally or within a small community or small niche. I was thinking about this whole "fame" thing and it harkened me back to college. I went to a college of say 10k to 15k. Big enough that there's plenty of people and chicks so your not running into the smae people all the time but small enough you actually knew peoples names and could be known, know people you run into in bars and parties, etc.

There were two brothers who were probably late 20's early 30's. They owned a popular bar...the town only had say 10 or so student bars. They also owned a liquore store/headshop next to their bar. After the bar closed they would normally open up and let you buy a 6 pack, some whipets, a pipe, etc whatever you wnated. Anyhow, these the bar, the shop, a house a little outside of town. I would say most of the 18-21 college chicks thought they were pretty cool owning a bar and headshop, they did especially well with the kind of hippy and artsy chicks but all chicks really.

I went back to their place one night to party with some girlfriends of mine and htey had a lot of drugs and a prettty cool pad and that was basically their life running the bar, partying with college kids, etc.

I can see it being fun for a while but when you really boil it down they are living in some hicktown college town of 10k people that goes dead for 4 months out of the year in the summer. Sure they are famous but they are famous with an endless revolving cycle of college kids.

It may be fun for 6 months or a year but I think would get really old after that. Personally speaking I'd rather be a spec in a sea of people in Chicago, NY, LA or some decent city than be a big fish in a small pond like these dudes I described. I guess you have to decide which is right for you.

Join a police or fire department and become their Media Relations Officer or Public Information Officer. Whenever there's a big crime or public service announcement, your mug will be plastered all over the local news giving information to the public. Women love public speakers and the uniform also helps.

Man there's no limit to parties bro! It gets even better when you get older because you can have all sorts of themes. Older chicks LOVE themes man. Think-Once chicks hit 25-35 they've pretty much either got good at what they do, or are getting into new stuff. Even if you're older you can still organize stuff for the younger cats! SO; Themes-Boat Party(rent a boat.call the companies they'll give you all the info you need), Beach Party, Frosh Party, College End of Exam Bash, Russian Ice Party, Sex Dungeon, Reggaeton, Salsa, Bachata, EDM, ANYTHING you can think of man! Women LOVE dancing and will ALWAYS go to the next party! If you are the guy leading them to it-you'll get famous(because women will follow you and guys will follow the women. Look at the music world haha!) And the older women get, the easier they get lol.

Shootings and fires never happened because we advertised it as a fun exciting event, not a hood party. Dress code in effect with the theme. Beach party? shorts bikini, tanks, etc. You gotta target chicks that love dancing. When the party cracks off, even when the "gangsters" show up, it's no problems because it's a bunch of girls dancing all over. If you can find a location-apartment(good) or a house(better) or a warehouse(perfect) that's in a busy business district, by a highway, or basically not that close to other houses-you'r GOLD! If you don't already live there, just talk to the owner.

Apartments
Pray you have some cool ass neighbors and read the house party section lol. Same things apply except for the multi-floor thing (OBVIOUSLY). Don't let people on the balcony. They usually throw shit and stand on it yelling acting stupid drawing attention lol-unless its mature people...

House Party 40-70ppl
Smaller house parties (40-70ppl) are the best because it's easy to manage. Charge $5 at the door, or do $15 all you can drink. Get some bottles, get some kegs (bout $100 depends where you're at) Have lookouts(they STAY on the main floor!!). Keep all windows and doors CLOSED! cardboard the windows if you gotta. Have a designated smoke area in the basement or upper level preferably no windows(We had a basement bathroom that we Jamaican hotbox'd. So much smoke you walk in and just inhale lol). I've been to house jams that got shut down because when the cops roll up, girls are on the lawn acting stupid, bottles everywhere outside, and people smoking up every damn where lol...smfh. Don't be scared-be prepared! The main level should be refreshment and bathroom floor. Lounge area where you're introducing people, spittin game, workin on bringin a bitch upstairs lol. Yea, we had alot of people there but everyone was lounging and eating. Some Tarantino on the tv. REAL party is in the basement. Your sound system in the basement lets the main level get good volume, girls can dance, but it's sort of muffled when your on the front porch fryin bacon...Upper level is sex area. We had cops show up to our jams and couldn't tell us shit but "we got a noise complaint, keep the noise down" And that's only at like 1am. By 1-2am, you want the DJ to change the music so its a little more relaxed. WHY?! Keep pigs off you...and bitches will get horny lol. We had condom bowls in the bathrooms, we had closets with blankets on the floor lol. Like we created little sex rooms everywhere lol. You can even give each floor a music theme man all KINDS of shit!!

Warehouse 100-300+ppl
If you get big(100+ people) then you're looking at renting a warehouse space, getting security(the ones I've been to were raves with some fighters), keeping fire extinguishers and a bunch of other stuff I never needed that actually would make you basically a club manager. The most important part is a dj man. Have a good dj, everything else is nada bro.(never in abandoned places because cops look for that. You want it as legit looking as possible, the more people you have). AGAIN! Secret location. Black Windows. Preferably far from residential housing.

Venue/Bar/Club 500-1200ppl
If it's big enough(500+ people) just rent a venue or bar somewhere. Liability wise this is your best bet. You're charging people at the door for sure plus drinks. if it's a bar, usually you get the door fee, and the bar keeps the drink money and charges for security(unless you rent private security just call some companies). Even if you break even it's all about the experience, and learning how to do it. Bar owners are ALWAYS down to rent out their space for special events because you're bringing money in. If you're in a small city you can do it and be known FAST. If you're n a big city, it will take a while to lock down big clubs, but if you're good you're looking at major paper. $20K/night! ($30@Door with 1000ppl-club fees)

Advertise with eventbrite on facebook(and party flyers at schools, and by bars/clubs). Find some club promoters to help you(give them a cod that when tickets are collected, they get a percentage of the door for every ticket they brought with their name/code on it). When people buy tickets the secret address is texted to them the day before. BEST way to do secret parties. Bitches love mystery so they'll be down.

the more you CONSISTENTLY throw good parties, you'll slowly get popular, and eventually people will know you for it. The party scene is the FASTEST route to fame IDGAF WHAT ANYBODY SAYS! What do famous people do? They fuck. and they PARTY.

The main points to take away guys is this:
GET GOOD AT SOMETHING! ANYTHING! Get ACTIVE in the community you're involved in. See how in-depth I went into just parties? You gotta have PASSION! Passion for what you do will get you money AND fame. WHY? Because you got game hermano! How'd you get game? From getting good at what you do! The chicks follow that shit guys..

Be COMPETITIVE! Be SOCIAL! Have FUN with it! Yes, you'll make mistakes, but the fame will come man but it will NEVER come if you sit around wondering how to do it.

Fame is relative bro. But you gotta have a rep somewhere. Like those guys probably are plugged with a good network that IF they went somewhere, they could chill with higher levels of society in that new area because of their status back home...

I started doing promoting while I was in college and I found out in short order that the promoting game is easier said than done.

You can have a good party/theme, location, etc. but you still can't make people show up.

Now clubs have to do a lot to try to get people through the door, no covers before X:00, free drinks before X:00, etc. The ones that seem to do well now bring in big names to act as DJs for the night and shit like that, but every spot doesn't have the budget to hire Tiesto for an evening.

I'm in a city where the competition is fierce, mostly because people will never run out of options in terms of where they can party, and even though everyone here wants to party, we still have clubs constantly going out of business.

You can be as passionate as you want to be about something, but people make the mistake in thinking that passion drives success when it is in fact the other way around, success drives passion.

Learn to sing, if you're fortunate enough to have a naturally appealing voice. It takes less time to become moderately good than it would to learn other instruments. Hit up karaoke bars where college girls/young professionals congregate. Belt out the tunes and blow all the other posers away. Being in front of an audience regularly would probably also help improve one's approach confidence in general as well.

This strategy worked extremely well for a buddy of mine several years ago - he usually sang vocals for metal bands, but in his free time he learned to do perfect covers of pop, boy band, etc. tunes for karaoke. He'd go a few weekends a month, to the point that he became a fixture at the local places and people would look forward to seeing his performance. He'd pull contacts every night he was there.
