Nah,that is not where I want to get to.

Neil has contributed tons to the forum, dropped data and knowledge by the bucket load and is having a go at being a writer and yet G is asking for a freebie? Nah,this will bring hate on to me but I'll call that shit out. Why doesn't 'G' just buy the book and review it,help a fellow member out instead of asking for a freebie? I know what he'll say "my review will increase sales",that might be the case but why not buy it and still review it?

This is not aimed at you G so don't take it personally,it's just an observation from having spent my life surrounded by people who really are extremely wealthy: they don't talk about how wealthy they are because such insecurities have long been banished by being successful. And they don't ask for freebies off of friends.

I'll buy your updated book Neil when I'm back home next week. I'll give it a good review it on Amazon too dude.

As you were.

I don't see it like that. I see it as G helping out a fellow Roosh forum member and doing a review for a book that he probably wouldn't read otherwise. Not G asking for a freebie, but G volunteering to do something to help out a forum member that he would not otherwise do. I think it's more than a fair trade.

I'll be picking up a copy Thursday (e-book) and I'm really looking forward to it. I think the 9.99 price tag is worth it since the book looks pretty mammoth. Also I really just want to find out about the places like French Guyana and Suriname, because no one ever seems to talk about them and a lonely planet guide book would probably be just as much (not to mention that it wouldn't have any info on what the girls look like).

What a strange post. You mean G should take the time to read Neil's big book, spend time writing a review, post it and probably make some money for Neil and he should pay for the book?

I didn't realize G and Neil were friends... I can see them hanging out at hostels in custom suits.

Obviously you don't put a lot of value on your time but if I did that I would be losing money even if I got the book for free.

Another way to look at it is that it benefits G as well to read the latest books/guides in this field and provide his thoughts to his readers. He has built a community and a very big part of running that community is building trust (in what he says) with the members of his community and providing his views on material he reads, countries he's visited, clubs he frequents, etc. If Neil Skywalkers book generates any buzz in the 'game' community, G's readers will no doubt appreciate his views on the book.

Neil,

I didn't quite understand from what I read earlier: are these entirely new stories in the book, or are some based on what was previously on the website? Probably looking at purchasing anyway, but still would like to know.

Neil, I've sold 100's of thousands of ebooks and if you truly want to make money from this for a long time you will need a product lineup and not just 1 book. 1 is a lonely # for business because it's not even a business. I've been successful with "1" a bunch of times but it always comes to an end. "1" is basically just a job you created for yourself, almost never a sustainable business.

Here's a quick idea off the top of my head that can be another book for you... "50 Best Hostels Around the World to get Laid"... price it at $2.99 on Amazon and offer a freebie at the end of it get people to opt-in to your email list. Make it a quick 30 page ebook. Build up your "brand" with more books. Use Roosh as a model to follow.

Other niched out short ebooks you could write about...
"5 Quick Tips on how to Target and Lay Backpacker Chicks in Hostels"
"15 Tips to Travel the World on less than $25 a Day"
"How to Bang Local Women While Staying at a Hostel"
"7 Countries You Should Avoid Travelling to if You're Looking for Easy Sex"
"20 Worst Hostels in the World"
"How to Travel the World While Speaking Only English"

See how easy it is. These don't have to be long books. Just niches where there is a demand and problem that needs to be solved. Then once someone buys any one of those books, it's easier to sell them on one of your other ones. Leave some questions unanswered in your main book so these books aren't redundant info.

Some are based on the stories on the website before the big upgrade. I had about 30 stories on there out of a hundred stories. I have put back a few who have been cut from the book or heavily edited.

The old website covered only the first year.

If you have some ideas on how to promote the shit out of a book then i will gladly hear them. I have difficulties with this so far. For example : how do i get he world out to newspapers. They are not biting on my emails.

You could probably write some of those in less than a day... definitely no more than a week if you do an hour here and there of writing.

Newspapers? *Shakes head* ... Forget newspapers. Even if you got into a few of them, you won't make any real sales from it. I know a few people who have had their books written up in newspapers... no money. Drop that idea. Do online press releases. Do youtube videos (can use goanimate for funny videos)... those are both relatively easy for beginners. Use banner ads targeting hostels sites (note that I am clueless on all things about hostels). Target sites where single guys who travel go to. Create a FB fanpage. Type in "hostels" in FB search and you'll see (maybe your Dutch settings are different than mine) that there's hostelsclub.com that has 22,000 fans and loki hostels has 15,000 likes. See what they're up to and buildup a following for your niche. Maybe call your fanpage "Hostels Sex".

Stop with using words like "never" "can't" "difficulties"... this isn't hard stuff. Keep moving forward. Money is attracted to speed. Do something easy like put up a fanpage and start building it up and building up a community of followers. Use pics of the cool places you've been to. Quick little snippets of your crazy stories. Etc.

It appears to me you're at a critical point for your book/business where it will either be successful or limp along depending on your can-do attitude. You want to get to the point where you can be more like Roosh... getting a sustainable monthly income and continually building it up with more products.

You need more frontend products to get guys into the door (need different forms of bait) and use those same products as backend. You don't have time?!... No, you don't have time NOT to do it.

Agreed. Once it becomes popular on the internet then the MSM may take an interest and skew it as the awful, misogynistic, Western backpacker who - for shame - "takes advantage" of the local women while travelling.

Get a story or link to it on Reddit. All the white knights should come out of the woodwork to hate on it, and all publicity is good publicity in this case.

Neil,

G and Nilla are spot on. Newspapers are worthless. Their readership will largely have no interest in your book. It is better to have 100 people from a site like Naughty Nomad hear about your book, than it is to have 1,000 from a newspaper.

Also, Nilla makes a great point that you should do a line of books. I would for sure think about doing a free ebook on a topic like "10 Easy Techniques To Hook Up In Hostels." or something like that and give it away for free as an opt in to your email list. This way when you release a new product, you have a email list of people interested in your work to market to.

You can also build this email list by doing a giveaway on other peoples sites, that preferably reviewed your book. The bloggers will like it because they get to give away something of value to their readers and tell them that you will email your existing email list about the giveaway to help drive some new traffic to their blog as well. It's a win win for them and you.

A few ideas:

1. Google "a vagabond story review". It is a book similar to yours that lots of travel bloggers reviewed. Check out each site/blog that reviewed it and pick 2-4 that you think fit your book the best, and have the largest readership.

2. Of those 2-4, start commenting on their articles with good, solid info and build a relationship with them. After a week or two of being an active member on their site, shoot them an email and attach a free copy of your book. Don't outright ask for a review, but say something like "I see you really enjoyed Imagine: A Vagabond Story. I wrote a book which is similar that I think you would really enjoy. I attached a free copy for you to check out. Enjoy!" If they read it and like it, they will more than likley review it. ANd if you have been leaving some good comments on their blog and participating, they will be much more receptive to your email.

3. Focus on blogs and forums. These are where you will find the most targeted readers for your book.

4. Become a regular guest poster on blogs. See if you can write a guest post, not about your book, but about something related to your book like "How To Approach In A Hostel" on sites like Roosh, Naughty Nomad, TravelSeXLife.com, etc. At the end of each guest post you will be able to leave a little bio and link to your book/site.

5. Once you get a couple of reviews up, you can start hitting up lots of other sites that you don't have a connection with and they will be more likley to review your book because other "bigger" travel blogs/sites have.

Basically, the whole idea is to leverage OTHER peoples established readers and make them your own.

Hell, maybe it could lead in to you having a whole game site and product line dedicated specifically to picking up backpacker chicks in hostels.

All bookstores worldwide have the option to buy my book from the publisher. I had it listed in a special catalogue for that. Cost me 25 bucks extra but it's the way to get a paperback in brick and mortar stores. I did it because it would be great to have my book in actual stores instead of only online.
Honestly I only make a 1.25 dollar per sold book so it's more of a nice-to-have but no moneymaker. For now i have to focus on the bigger options first.

@big Nilla
Thanks for the tips again. I already have Facebook page. it's in my avatar but it not going really fast. I need to post more on there. I noticed people are a bit careful liking a page like this.

I've been promoting it a lot the last 3 weeks but it's not catching on that quick. Out of a 100 travel blogs i asked for link exchange only 10 replied. Some of them despised the idea and some others like the idea. I still have to hit the forums.
I have a couple of interviews lined up so that's the first thing i'm working on. I can't hold off working any longer and will probably start a job in a few days. I hate the idea since i haven't "worked" for a boss in years but on the other hand it gets me out of my house a bit and money in my pocket.

Thanks for your tips. I will use them for sure. Not sure about the product line on the backpackers hostel game. Not my strongest point. I did hook up with a few of them but was mostly out the door chasing locals or not really into the fat western backpacker girl. Maybe a guide on picking up girls working at the hostel. I banged a few of those. They are hard to pick up but that makes them extra wanted.

Neil you say you only receive $1.25 per book sold. Does Amazon take that much of a commission? Seems like a rough deal and you would have to be selling a lot for it to be worth you while. You could also just sell it straight from your site in PDF format and keep the whole $10.

Neil,
Agreed that if you only get 1.25 per sale, then it's not worth your efforts. Put it on your site and sell it directly from it. Create a small ebook that you would give for free for anyone who signs up for your email list. Also, to make it really a long term business, you should create higher end products and make your book as the first step in your sales funnel, where the whole marketing effort is for them to signup for your higher end, customised services, like say, 1-on-1 coaching, even planning the best iteneary for someone based on their needs and profile.

Btw, let me know when you get the updated ebook on your site and I'll get it and will review it.
