Top 10 activities to master for life & game purposes

Instead of 10 different things, take one thing and become awesome at it. Whats cooler, a guy who can cook, do martial arts, sail, whatever.

Or a pan-am brazilian jiu jitsu medalist?

Or a guy who can shred the guitar like Steve Vai?

Or a guy who can cook like Mario Batali with random ingredients on the fly?

Or a guy who is conversational in 10 languages?

Bad idea.

I did exactly that (Well, not to the exact level you mentioned, but by all means elite) with something on that list, and it got me absolutely nowhere. Especially with girls. Think about all the girls you know; how many of them can hold a conversation on any topic to any level of depth? I'm betting it is none. If you put all your eggs in one basket, you appear to girls (and everyone else around you) boring at best, and unstable at worse.

To get girls, you have to appear to be worldly-wise (ie proficient at a number of topics) and be able to translate that into an emotional form they can understand at a base level. To get to the levels you're talking about (I used to practice hours and hours every day for instance) you're going above and beyond what most people can relate to, and chances are it still won't be enough to break the upper-echelons of the thing you're trying to master.

Added with that, if it is a sport, you're going to get nagging injuries which bug the shit out of you. Same with instruments or any hobby where you can get recurring irritations.

I'd say it is much better to become 90% better at something than everyone else, which might take 6-12 months, than 99% than everyone else, which'll take maybe 6-12 years.

The only exception on the list really is conversational fluency - because that is low level in terms of difficulty. Comparing say, Steve Vai's prowess on the guitar with language learning would be akin to learning to speak, read and write an ancient language to fluency to the level whereby everyone in the world with a vague interest would use you as the reference point for what is correct.

Being a world-medalist in a sport is practically akin to being the best person on a continent at a particular activity; so good that it is incomprehensible to pretty much everyone who isn't an enthusiast.

I am confused. What is the point of all these lists? To improve one's chances of porking a human of the opposite gender? That sounds like a sad existence, vainly spent trying to please others. I have a humble idea: do something you love, make sure you excel at it, and don't worry about checklists. Let purposefulness, not activities that may not suit one's body or spirit, be the goal.

Not at all! I just don't see what is the point of spending 10 years earning a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu if one is not truly passionate about it. One's time is finite, after all. Such time-intensive surrogate activities can be entertaining, but if they're the means towards an end, there are easier ways of attaining what one wants.

I don't see the point of getting hobbies for more pussy. It's good to take a break from that drug once in a while.

You don't have to train ten years to medal in jiu jitsu events. They have competitions for all belt levels. I already love what I do. It acts as a workout and stress reliever. Id be training my ass off regardless. The fact that girls love fighters is just a bonus. Imagine walking into your pad w ur girl and her asking what all the medals are for? Pics of you training, competing, etc. Instant pussy wettification. Women are attracted to a high level of mastery. This applies to anything especially music. Women become entranced by piano players and guitar players. Look at the girls faces in that paparazzi talent show video with the middle school kid singing and playing piano. Joe rogan does a great commentary.

Do it because you love it but flaunt it if you got it.

Also this doesn't mean I don't pursue other goals. I speak four languages conversationally and im learning two more. I love to cook. I dabble in guitar. I lift weights . I travel. I cycle. Jiu jitsu is just the thing I enjoy most and put by far the most energy into.

You're missing the point. This is not a question about the "quality" of their music.

Maybe you want me to post up videos of rappers like Kanye, Jay-Z, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, etc. doing tours in Europe...

The point made remains the same. Whether or not someones has a bad opinion of their music does not change the fact that they get girls in Europe, contrary to what the other guy claimed.

Why would you post videos of those WORLDWIDE CELEBRITIES? Of course they'll get love in Europe fool lol. Maybe you should post up videos of regular guys with real jobs who rap on the side and have boppers on their knees in Europe while on tour.

UK is pretty much America when it comes to pop culture and male/female dynamics. But those chicks are def bangable. Would bang. Bareback.

Edit: With condom

Yoga pants def does more for me than red dress. Red dress's face somehow transforms from sultry/sexy to something hideous at the end of the video around the 4 minute mark.

Being a master at anything will give you status and access to more women. Its not guaranteed but nerds from out of the dungeons like Pharell Williams or Kanye still get tail. These men we're reclusive nerds in the early years and locked them selves inside most just working on music and jacking off.

Nobody knows how much ROI of pussy they get. Even my idol J dilla was reclusive as hell and spent most of his time at Strip Clubs so you can look at both ways. But I still stand by the fact that being a master at a craft on a elite level will get you to some ass that was unattainable before.

Wait HH, how is making a porn studio a 2/10? It sounds way harder than it is to sell drugs.

But other than that, I say genuinely do some hobbies. If it seems like you're doing tyem for chicks they can spot you out real quick. Do them for you first.

Selling drugs will get you killed or locked up. Its damn hard

Porn though? How hard is it to stick an add in Craigslist or Backpage, grab a camera and pay some chick to fuck you on it?

Pornstars make less than escorts dude. I read somewhere that the top flight stars only make like 800 bucks a scene or something retarded.

Don't strive for greatness because you may not impress everybody and you may fail. Good message.

That isn't what I said.

In purely anecdotal terms; I spent a large portion of my life 'achieving greatness' at one skill, as you suggested. The result: I gained only incrementally on what i could have done in a fraction of the time, and those incremental jumps are completely lost on everyone around you. If I'd have spent one hour a day on said hobby instead of six or seven, I'd still be 9/10's as good at it as I am today - and nobody would notice anyway.

In fact, that is true. What is also true is that back then, I was completely unbalanced as a person because I spent all my free time trying to master a skill. All my 'stories' and experiences revolved around one thing, which made small talk (especially with teenagers - my social peers of the time) impossible. It gave me a 'nerd' stigma which I'm still shaking off years after the fact.

Nowadays, I'm still highly skilled at said topic - and should the need ever arise (Which it won't,) I could talk about it with real experts of the field and not look like a tit, but I can also hold down a conversation about the actual world with pretty much anyone on many subjects. I'm happier as a result by an order of magnitude.

That says nothing of not achieving greatness - you can aim to achieve 'greatness' in terms of being a complete human being, which is something a lot of 'superskilled-at-one-thing' people are missing. Specialization is for insects.
