Again, it's a cultural thing. If you meet someone in a bar in most EE countries and have a chat with him or her, they will offer you a drink when they order one for themselves, provided that they are enjoying hanging with you. Not buying one for the people you hang with often means that you don't really want them there - it's a diss of sorts.

This doesn't mean that you should open girls by offering to buy them one - that's lame everywhere. But if you have been talking and dancing for a while, and if you are buying one for yourself, it's considered rude not to ask.

Funny thing I actually had an arguement with an American cow (from DC no less) last week in a bar about how guys in the UK don't buy girls drinks. I was chatting to her friends when she came over and interrupted starting to complain about how she never gets bought drinks from guys in bars in London. To which I said yeah why would they, so you can just take their drink and bugger off.

She said no because its a great conversation starter and a "real" gentleman would always buy a drink for a girl. I said how is it a great conversation starter? She said well its better than just standing around hoping a girl will talk to you like you probably do (even though I had approached her friends with my innovative, how low can you go opener). I wanted to send a torrent of abuse her way but thought to just play it cool and shrug it off. Her friends apoligised for her bitchiness after anyway.

I'm from the UK, in my mid-twenties, have never bought a girl a drink at a bar in my life.

In fact, I rarely even buy myself drinks, so someone must buy them for me. I don't know how typical this is.

Here is Richard Feynmen's experience with American women back in the 1930's-1940's.

of a grad student, who was visiting from Virginia. She was very nice, and
suddenly I got this idea: "Let's go to a bar and have a drink," I said.
On the way to the bar I was working up nerve to try the master's lesson
on an ordinary girl. After all, you don't feel so bad disrespecting a bar
girl who's trying to get you to buy her drinks -- but a nice, ordinary,
Southern girl?
We went into the bar, and before I sat down, I said, "Listen, before I
buy you a drink, I want to know one thing: Will you sleep with me tonight?"
"Yes."
So it worked even with an ordinary girl! But no matter how effective
the lesson was, I never really used it after that. I didn't enjoy doing it
that way. But it was interesting to know that things worked much differently
from how I was brought up.

The way I see it, feminism is just a societal shit-test; One that Western men have thus far completely failed.

Funny thing. I met this girl off tinder last year. She was gorgeous looking, a 9 in my books - a Russian looking Latvian student girl with sizable boobs and nice ass and some freckles but sorta like that brunette chick from Lost.

Well in the UK if your buying a girl a drink and you've just met her or don't even know her then I'd expect her to disappear shortly after getting the drink, if you do know her then I wouldn't expect to see a drink coming your way soon as they usually expect guys to buy their drinks so they can tell their friends how they spent only the bus fare home. That said its not all but its seems to be a certain type that are never far away in bars/clubs, the ones that do show appreciation are becoming rarer and rarer.

I find Polish girls to see things differently and have had girls look around later on in a night for me just to find me to buy me a drink back, its like they are not just out to get as much free stuff as they can unlike the english girls.

My experience is that in order for you to go further with girls in FSU countries, when initial attraction has been established at a bar or nightclub, you have to buy her drinks. Otherwise, she will get upset and disqualify you (at least, for mature women).

In my country, Sweden, that's definitely not a prerequisite.

I would be really interested to see what the take is on that on this forum.
