There's no good way to spin it in Rice's favor, no matter what his woman did or didn't do to precipitate the physical altercation. A big, muscular man punching a woman will always result in the man being labeled the bad guy by anyone watching (whether in person or on video). I'm not going to condemn Ray Rice because I don't know the full story, and if the woman married him I doubt he's some violent monster. But I can't defend what he did there. That being said, I have been attacked by a crazed woman before. It's not fun, and they can fuck you up if you don't fight back (not a KO punch obviously, but they can scratch the shit out of you and leave scars on your arms and face). The best move to quickly incapacitate a female attacker without looking like a total villain to anyone watching is to grab her head in a Thai plum and give her a hard knee or two to the solar plexus. That should be enough to drop her without doing any lasting damage or leaving any visible injuries for her to play the victim over.

Geez Scorpion. You need some ju jitsu or Aikido lessons brother. What's next the old punch them through a phone book, to avoid bruises, like some Mexican guys I know have told me?
