Here links to companies that have been proposing passenger blimps. It would be an awesome way to travel.

I don't understand why the concept hasn't gotten off the ground yet. It's safer than an airplane, which might appeal to some.

This is amazing. Hope it comes to fruition. I'd happily sacrifice some speed for the added comfort of one of those on some trips.
Looks like it would mainly be focused on cruise type trips to begin with. 18 hours to traverse the US it quite a long time but with entertainment, hotel rooms and amenities on board it's not such a big deal.

I'm always looking for alternative means of travel. Flying gets boring. Super ferries run between Cebu/Manila and Nagoya/Sapporo. It takes longer but offers time to sleep, read a book, and game women. The blimps are such a nostalgic way of travel. And at 12,000 feet it would be a great way to see the country.

Bingo. If they offer a cheaper version I'll be all over it.

Instead of fucking a girl that looks like a blimp?
Looks like things are moving forward. A prototype is being built for the military. Hopefully it will get the ball rolling for civilian craft. AP story here:
