Anyone know if going early in the night is an effective way to get in these joints without buying a bottle if one is to roll up with no connections and just a (male) wing?

I showed up early to Mister H solo on a weekday night during the summer and they wouldn't let me in.

I showed up at Southside solo a few different days in the past year right at opening and they wouldn't let me in.

I showed up at Le Baron solo once last year right around opening time on a weekend and they wouldn't let me in. There were some average looking girls who they wouldn't let in either.

I've had no trouble getting into Le Souk Harem solo on a weekend when I showed up early. I was sent to the top floor when I showed up because that is were the bar area was because at the time the rest of the place was serving food.

That's my only experience showing up early on the places that Distant Light mentioned.

What would an apartment cost in the city? I'm not sure about Manhattan unless it would DHV? How about general cost of living such as:

Going out 3-4 times a week
Public trans
Food
Ect.

I've been dreaming of a 3+ month stay in the city, and need to get hot on it before I get too old.

I was just reading the yelp reviews about "Top of the Standard". One blonde girl in the review said, "This place is over.... enough said"

Does this mean that it's possible for a guy by himself on a weekend night to get in? Or is the door still really tough?

I'm going to be there for at least 1 month in April and mainly looking on airbnb a decent studio or 1 bedroom in Manhattan is going to set you back minimum $2500 a month... I've planned about 5G for 1 month stay as I will most likely be going out 3-4 times a week and doubt I wil be doing any cooking as well.

$85 online or $100 at the door. Wow, at least the riff raff won't show up.

You trying to swing by Strangelove?

Always best to either roll in with girls OR get them off the street UNLESS you're a tall "hipster smart" dressed guy because too classy looking and they'll throw bar tab minimums and if too normal its gonna be a no go especially if you know no one.

Best bet is to meet chicks in meatpacking district and befriend a few different groups to see which girls are connected that way for the whole stay in NY will be much more profitable.

There is a huge gap in NY nightlife, this isn't the norm for people visiting NY...

See in NY...
- NORMAL BAR/CLUB, that may or may not have women which even if they do there usually not hot or ratio sucks. Weekdays would be horrible especially if the weather is bad. HOWEVER, compared to another city it might better.

- MID-LEVEL CLUBS, its much better than your normal bar/club BUT they have 20-40 dollar cover charge that is not worth it as you'll see later. Their will be lots of cuties and ratio is always guaranteed to be good BUT again unless you are willing to use money. If this is the route you wanna go...

MONDAY = Le Souk (No actual cover charge, free)
TUESDAY = Kiss n Fly, Greenhouse (Hiphop night)
Wednesday = Tenjune, RDV, Kiss n Fly
Thursday = Greenhouse
Friday = Tenjune, Kiss n Fly, RDV, Gansevoort Park (Free), Hudson Terrace
Saturday = Tenjune, Kiss n Fly, Hudson Terrace, Griffin, RDV

NOTE, other places people tend to go too and talk about BUT I never really been is "Webstar Hall", "Hanky Panky", "Terminal 5", "Sullivan Room".

- HIGH END CLUBS, its all FREE the problem is gaining entry, ratio is always amazing and the quality always above average. Weekdays are more relaxed at the door since they usually try to cash in on weekends.

Distant Light -

I love your NYC info, it really is top notch. Keep in coming.

Do you have any buildings you recommend to rent in Soho (or near ie Chinatown border) that rent for a month or two in summer?

DL,
Can you name the current high end clubs? I know these can change fast.

Vicious, I think he did here: http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-8368-p...#pid365791

While you are at it, it might be worth busting out the spots that have the easiest entry/best value proposition for girls. It could be restaurants, hotel bars, lounges, or clubs.

I am sure I am not the only one on here that would benefit.

@RaulValdez739 - April 30th is still a long ways away, so you never know. The downside is that open bars (or anything else unlimited) is bad for me because I want to make it worth my money and end up getting way to smashed.

@Distant Light - I am fascinated by your lifestyle and the fact that you have the experience necessary to know where all the hot spots are every day of the week. What do you do for cash? What's your hustle? It seems to be practically impossible to live your lifestyle as a 9-5 worker (believe me, I tried). Are you a student? Freelancer? Do you work later hours? Are you a promoter? I am insanely curious how you set up your lifestyle

@thegmanifesto - my event idea was G Manifesto approved. I feel special [Image: smile.gif] Also, If you're into more spartan accommodations, there is a good chance I will be renting out a room in my apartment over the summer. I live on the upper east side (east 80s)

Distant light, how connected are you in the meatpacking district? You know bouncers and owners on a first name basis? Or do you just roll in with hot girls?

Looks like one of those popup clubs I've heard about but never knew how to find out about. I guess the secret is to read Roosh's forum.

I'm still at a loss of how people normally find out about these things. Anyway, I hope the rain that is forecast ends before then. I might show up to this one.

I've been to NYC only once and it was a looong time ago, '95 or so. We were doing a bachelor party of sorts for my cousin who was getting married at West Point. Hit a lot of places but the only one I recall the name of is Jekyl and Hyde. Pretty cool place back then and seemed pretty fun. Hand a conga line form at one point.

http://www.jekyllpub.com/

Just out of curiosity, what is the opinion of the NY guys of this place. Any of you go there?

ok, confirmed:

http://www.residentadvisor.net/events.aspx - this is a legit place to get party info. Most of these parties are DJ or dance based, and most have covers, but the covers are not outrageous and the girls always seem to come out in good numbers.

It still requires a good deal of NYC knowhow to navigate, for example:
1) Cielo WILL nickel and dime you on everything, and is usually a VERY guido heave scene, same with Pacha and District 36, I learned that from experience, so please avoid.
2)Lower East Side and Brooklyn parties are by far the best
3) This site takes reservations and cover charges on the site, so that might give you a good idea if the party is gonna be bangin or dead. Plus you can do a little venue research beforehand.
4) From what I hear - Output is the bangin new place (havent been yet, going by word of mouth). Its an unpretentious Brooklyn warehouse nightclub with good music and chill people

@Gman, I'm not sure about housing but one of my friends recently sublet a place in east village. I've met friends who were subletting some pretty sick apartments (5brs in city)

Best Venues In Terms Of Ease Of Entry & Quality
1. Jane Hotel
2. W.I.P
3. Westway
4. Toy (Restaurant)
5. Double Seven
6. Rose Bar
7. Gansevoort Hotel in Meatpacking (Due to location and probability of seeing girls who could possibly get into other venues)
8. Gansevoort Park

These venues are much better than the average and don't have cover charge, door will also be much more relaxed. Double Seven, it won't be uncommon to see models too. Both Toy & Double Seven is a solid place to find women who frequent many of the high end clubs making entry easier. Other guys I know have picked up women off the street and walked in.

@Vicious

IMO, in terms of quality of women
1. Provocateur
2. Darby
3. SL (Simyone Lounge)

NEWEST VENUES
1. Finale
2. Marquee (Rebranded As A Dj Spot)

Best Venue Based On Night (Quality In Mind)
Sunday = Brazilian Party At "The Box" (Only place you'll see models listening to Brazilian music)
Monday = Catch
Tuesday = Ph-D
Wednesday = SL
Thursday = Provocatuer
Friday = Ph-D (or Provocatuer)
Saturday = Provocateur

@Strangelove, I recently just started a blog revolving around creating a lifestyle and in the works of an "invite only" group targeted towards bottle buyers who want to live a ridiculous lifestyle. Before all this, I had dropped out of acting school, got caught up into partying, dabbled with promoting until I realized I preferred bringing out bottle buyers. I built this lifestyle off of little to nothing AND broke too [Image: smile.gif]

YES, Output in BK is cielo team no door policy just good music and goodtimes.

@Kabal, Yes tenjune is an utter mess it's like the owners don't even care to manage it properly because there racking up at their other venues. I would say somehow Kiss n Fly is much better than both tenjune and hudson terrace. The thing with these venues including RDV is the cover charge for a pool of average women with the occasional hottie. When being in high end venues so much and going to these venues it's like "WTF!?!?!?!"

^^ respect the hustle - what you're doing is what every lawyer, finance guy, computer whiz at a startup WISHES they could do. Respect. . Can you hit me with the address of this blog?

I'm checking out Marquee this Friday for a DJ show - this girl that's super into DJs and dance music invited me so I'm curious how the Marquee rebrand works.

Looking at the hi-end clubs Distant Light posted I'm not sure the guys here on RVF are the right fit though. I'm reading up on Yelp, forums and similar. Unless you walk in with a bunch of grade A ladies on your arm you’ll have to apply some serious grease (3-figures and up). And if you already have some hotties down you don't want to go to a club in the first place (unless you like being seen more than you like poon).
Reply

New York City

If you have to pay a lot of money to get into a club, maybe you are the one being gamed.

There's other ways to get into clubs for free.

Become a promoter, DJ, or friends with the staff somehow.
Reply

New York City

Promoting and DJ-ing are at the very least part time jobs and outrageously competitive for small compensation. Being friends with staff ties you to one place and is almost exclusively about grease. It all comes back to money one way or another.

Not to mention it's not very practical if you, like me, is only visiting the city temporarily.
Still good to have the list so we can at least orient ourselves.

I love the girls yelp comments about Provocateur though. Everyone are trying to claim it's filled with underage girls "dressed as prostitutes" and that the male patrons are only dirty old men.

Hi, I might go with a girl to NYC in the following weeks for a quick trip, I like whiskey, no cover and good "hipster" music (think Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Killers, Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Metronomy, Bloc Party). Where can we hangout? I am going to stay close to Grand Central, I prefer not to leave Manhattan.

Thanks.
