Yeah I do that now, though I can't watch the stream at the time, I just use flashgot to capture the stream to watch or stream to my tv later.

Does anyone here use the fileshare sites? Uploaded, Rapidgator, etc. I go to rlsbb.com (with adblock, their ads are malicious) daily.

You should also check out Warez-bb.org. Forum is as old as time and you can find anything you could possibly want. All materials are uploaded to fileshare sites like the ones you mentioned above. It certainly, in my eyes, rivals TPB and KAT.

Torrenting and p2p sharing will never die. Back when I used to have a lot of time on my hands, I managed to join some of the more exclusive sites (invite needed) like Waffles/Bitme. Most of these private ones are niche based for things like music and learning or whatever.

Which ones are for learning? I would like to join some sites that focus on educational stuff like textbooks, books in general, and courses.

Sure thing.

For eleaning, I would recommend Bitme, BitSpyder, and TheGeeks.bz. Those are the top ones. They all need invites, but periodically offer open invitation. The invite system is to prevent leeches who never seed. These sites have a dedicated membership that is committed to seeding and the invite usually serves as a vouch that you can maintain a great seeding ratio (where you seed more data than leech). Incidentally, there are programs that can easily cheat this. Invites are given out on the r/trackers subred and other forums. However, many people don't usually wanna deal with that bullshit so I would ultimately recommend Ebookee. It's got everything you could possibly want in ebook format by category. You can also look at ConCen which is currently open for signup, but its niche is more focused on conspiracy stuff and cult truther stuff.

The sites I listed initially are for people who have more esoteric interests or for folks in IT and the type of content is much more diverse. I recommend you take a look at this chart which offers a great breakdown of all the trackers and sites. They offer a filter by category (elearning, 0-day, movies, etc) and whether they are public or private. Lastly, for any updates, I would also take a look at the subreddit discussing public and private trackers. Hope this helps a bit.

Thanks bronies! The info sent has been very helpful.

Man, joining the art of misdirection must be a bitch. You have to send them a video showing you're a legit magician in addition to applying for it and answering 10 questions.

Well, what are the alternatives?

Why would I even pirate the crap hollywood makes these days?! In the past 10 years or so there were like maybe 3 good movies. I don't mind paying for the cinema once every 3.5 years or so.

For music there's youtube with adblockplus, I would say you can find 99% of music there? For the other %1 (underground music which doesn't even make it to youtube, if there is such a thing) there's soundcloud etc.

Heroturko used to have entire college courses for download. I'm not even sure if that's around anymore.

It is getting harder to torrent...especially when sites like Amazon, and Netflix
make it a lot easier to stream the latest movies as soon as they come out.

The one good thing about torrenting though is that you can discover a ton of
other stuff you might have never known about.

No idea if any groups feature torrents, but that kinda defeats the purpose of Usenet. With Usenet you are encouraged to leech as much as you want, uploading is totally optional. To me it's worth $10-15 per month since you don't have the hassle of 'copyright' letters sent to the ISP.

One downside to Usenet is cracked games. It can be hard to see which users have trusted status enough not to upload a virus. They do have comments, but it isn't exactly 'Kickass'.

I'm set up with nzb and sickbeard - the latter automatically pulls down new favorite shows as soon as they're released. No need really to use a VPN either - it's pretty safe as newsgroups are not (yet) monitored. Of course a VPN offers additional security.

The problem is that a lot of very popular stuff gets nuked very quickly (e.g. GOT), especially on astranet and some of the most popular other ones. Word has it you can pay more per month for more exclusive access and less nukes on some other providers but I doubt it. Also, some of the more exotic/rare stuff is harder top pull.

Big advantage: SPEED! I've got fiber and can pull a 10GB file in 20 minutes or so.

How can a man in poland be arrested by the US if the man was not under US jurisdiction? Does that mean that if I host a porn site in Iceland which is illegal, I can be extradited to Iceland?

I always try it to stick it to the liberal Hollywood crowd. Never pay for movies, and overpriced actors. Fuck them! Let them eat their own cake, and sing kumbaya down with Capitalism. [Image: banana.gif]

Because almost all the EU countries are a mere play ground to the US elite and/or government. Poland doesn't want to comply? Ok, you are out of NATO and US Trade with us. That's it. Poland will give up its president if it has to.
