Things You Accomplished in 2014

The thread title says it all, let's look back at the last year and reflect on things we were able to do.

This is a time to celebrate the end of a year and get momentum going in.

Me

Financially - Paid my father back 28k bucks,

Set up some passive income (opportunity coming soon for rvf)

Set up a few things businesswise that could be great this next year

About to finish a my first book (although I may not release it here for privacy reasons)

Personal Growth - Quit the drinking lifestyle, and conquered my anger issues, those 2 are huge. The byproducts are too numerous to list but virtually all of my relationships are amazing

I also completed a life course that has changed my life in unexpected ways. Its taken my game to a whole new level and its had this insane ripple effect on everyone around me.

I've been active with charitable contributions through fundraising and also delivering goods to people in need.

Fitness - I'm in great shape and my diet is spectacular. I look and feel better than I ever have in years

New Skills - I'm practicing Spanish every day, I'm going surfing, I'm doing yoga more regularly and meditating

Misc - I traveled to 9 different countries this year and spent about 7 months abroad.

I've made a lot of good friends this year.

Great stuff Fisto.

I mainly worked on my new product lines for my software business. I have 4 main lines now with multiple revenue sources within each line.

A couple of new tech announcements have opened up some amazing opportunities for me. Up until now, they were some big hurdles. Not anymore.

I took off a couple of months to let a shoulder heal. Now, I am back lifting and able to punish myself more and more. haha

I also took up some yoga. I love it even though I am the most inflexible person on the planet.

I have to say with everything that has happened throughout the year, I haven't been happier. Even the struggles couldn't get me down. It's like I found balance and because of that I am just happy being in the moment.

I will save about 35k US this year. Its good but not great. I actually worked a little less this year for my sanity.

Shoulder has been injured since 6/23 and still not 100% so my body went to shit. I stopped eating a lot of foods such as rice, noodles, sugar, milk. But still its hard to maintain a great physique when moving hurts.

Less quick to get angry this year. Been a positive trend the last few years. I think Im just getting older.

First international trip to the Philippines
Read 20 books
Began lifting weights again for the past 5 months after neglecting it for nearly a decade - making all kinds of gains
Racked up some of the highest quality notches I have ever had
Personal growth in discovering the manosphere, working every day to be a better man, having more confidence and self esteem, saying goodbye to my depression, realizing my worth as a man is much higher than I was willing to give myself credit for (and growing week by week)

2014 was a spectacular year for me. I literally feel like a new man since discovering the manosphere. I honestly mean it when I say RVF is one of the best things to have ever happened to me. I think it literally saved my life in a lot of ways because I was in a pretty dark place before I discovered it.

It sounds like 2014 was a pretty good year for a lot of people. I get the sense that there is a bit more optimism for the future generally around the world, into 2015. Anything could happen though - who knows if we'll sink back into darkness next year.

Like others I found success in my lifestyle goals, like boosting my income significantly and managing a healtht lifestyle.

For guys on here I would say that if you want to be really healthy and fit, listen to the advice on here and do what sounds right, but tinker around with it. Everyone's body is unique so don't be afraid to try different things to see what works for you. It takes time - maybe you won't hit your stride in 2015 but you'll learn what doesn't work, and get it more or less right in 2016.

Other achievements:

- I worked out a passive income stream that requires maybe ten minutes of work per month now that it's set up. So far it is yielding about $200/month in profit. I got lucky - I'm not sure if I can offer advice on how to find such opportunities.

- Developed a fasting system that works. I've set up new fitness trips in 2015 - I'll be taking some time off to try new things.

- Invested several thousands of dollars into the stock market and developed a solid understanding of investment strategy. Zerohedge.com and mrmoneymustache.com are good places to start.

Some things that didn't work out:

- couldn't learn Chinese. I took classes and spent a bunch of money but found my mind too occupied with other things, like fitness, making money, and career development. I may learn something easier in 2015, or start to anyway.

- I still haven't found a good way to incorporate lifting into my life. Eventually I'd like to get a bench press at home but in my current place there's not enough room.

- I focused on lifestyle and travel this year to the detriment of going out and being social - I need a more balanced life.

Got out of a long-term relationship and successfully back onto the dating market.

Went from never doing a pull-up in my life to being able to pound out five consistently.

After a bad ankle sprain I ballooned to 245 lbs. Now I'm back to 215/220, and between basketball, lifting, cooking my own meals, and juicing, I'm at the best overall fitness in my life.

Successfully adapted to the IF lifestyle and loving it.

Great thread. This past year has been the best for me yet, I can't wait for what is to come. Will be good to compare these results to what we achieve in 2015.

- First solo trip abroad. Met some cool RVF guys, some fun girls, and experienced true freedom for the first time ever.

- Learned spanish, between my trips, personal study, skype conversations, dates, taking a course etc. I'm fully conversational now and can understand native speakers almost entirely. I'd still like to improve my vocabulary and pronunciation even further and will continue to work on it.

- Second trip abroad, met other RVF guys and had a blast. Made some local friends I am still in touch with, and some satisfying mini relationships.

- Made some money online, nothing substantial but definitely helpful, and is now an opportunity for me to expand on this coming year

- Although I'm still some time away from my ideal physique, I can say I'm in the best shape to date

- I no longer need/use alcohol to meet girls. I can do nights out sober, and solo and find success. I still like having some drinks when out with friends, but if I'm out on my own it's good to know I can do it sober and be comfortable in my own skin.

- Improving discipline. I still have work to do, but overall I get much more shit done and I am more disciplined.

- Read about 10 books this year. I think that is a minor improvement over 2013. I'd like to get much more reading done this coming year.

I pretty much did fuck all for most of the year and completed next to none of my goals.

That being said I climbed out of the hole of depression, packed up my shit and moved 1000 km away from everyone I knew and am slowly starting to build a life for myself. I've got a long way to go but the main thing I need to keep doing is moving forward. Once I moved and got a fuck buddy I stagnated again but its time to go out there and take what I want.

In chronological order:

- Ejected from a LTR that had gone sour
- Quit my dead end cubicle job and moved to Amstersdam
- Decided to go back to school to computer science and operations research and got admitted to my top choice and although I have done pretty bad on my first semester due to the workload and procrastination I'm more motivated than ever to redeem myself

2014 started great for me, and finished off shitty. I'm ready for 2015. This new year will be a lot less about chasing women and "notches" and more about stacking cash, getting into great shape (lower body fat %), and traveling.

- Started reading RVF

- Bought a trailer and started going camping

- Finally established a physical office for my business downtown

- Got a Gym membership and started going regularly. On advice of RVF, stopped fucking around with the cardio and machines and exclusively lift.

2014 was a wild ride.

- Business project crashed when capital was stolen. This lead to my cash flow being the lowest since I was 14 years old. I was dead broke, but I never touched my savings and investments.

- Started two new businesses alone. No more partnerships. Also started consulting.

- Decided I wanted a son. Impregnated an amazing woman, she is due in a couple months.

- Bought a sick pad in the best part of town.

- Stopped the heavy lifting in April and started swimming and stretching everyday. Will be going back lifting in 2015, I just miss it too much.

- Spent a lot of time working with At Risk Youth from the Downtown East Side and out on the Indian Reservations.

Stoked on 2015. Already lots of travel on the calender locked in, some potential big business moves that have me a bit freaked out, and women are calling me like mad.

- Stayed off booze for all of 2014.

- Cut out the junk food and eating out all the time. Cooked more in 2014 than any other year.

- Read more quality books than I can remember. I believe in getting the INPUT side of the equation right. Great books combined with the wisdom of this forum has been like medicine for the soul.

- Had a huge paradigm change with regards to career/money, leading me to quit my corporate job that I wasn't enjoying anymore.

- I've become more disciplined. Honestly didn't know I had it in me, could never stick to anything. Study and work is getting done nearly every day without excuses getting in the way. My belief is that this is a result of better eating, exercise and no alcohol binges.

- Kept to a 6 day gym routine. It's been tough and I'm probably weaker than most lifters on here, but more weight is slowly being added to the bar.

- Enjoyed the presence of a wonderfully feminine and loving Japanese girl. Still love the chase, but increasingly appreciate spending time with one quality woman and a few on the side.

- Don't know if I'm becoming more dominant in bed or if the girls are getting more submissive. Either way, it's a lot of fun!

- Went to 6 different countries, including the Philippines for the first time. My eyes were opened to say the least.

Optimistic about 2015. My goals will involve making more money and getting back to traveling the world.

dreambig, congrats on the things you accomplished. I know you didn't ask for advice, but if I may, you go to the gym 6 days a week. If you are progressing then you are a champ. Don't think about what other guys on RVF are doing. You are doing better than 90% of the world bro. Keep going, you'll get to where you want.

That goes for any guy here who is dedicated and is consistent, you are doing better than most in the world. Congrats.

Things You Accomplished in 2014

2014 was for me a blowback in many ways. I have learned many lessons.
This thread is such a great read so let's stick to the positive things.

- Managed to stay another year out of the ratrace. Wasn't my best year in terms of economics but I still managed to make money on my own terms without being anybodys bitch.

- Spent more than 4 months abroad. Thailand, Malaysia,Indonesia, UK,Germany and Sweden.

- Started with martial arts, jiu-jutsu and kickboxing in the spring. (Thanks Fisto) Felt like I found the missing link. Really really enjoyed it, almost became obsessed! Never missed a session no matter what. 5 times a week.
I went to Thailand to train Muay Thai but then a serous strike of bad luck and health issues hit me there so I had to back off. Can't wait to get back to it.

- Finally started to hit the gym regularly. 5-6 times a week.
Improving slowly but surely. Trying to do a workout every day. If I'm not lifting, I'm going for a swim.

- Reduced my drinking bigtime. I've aimed to be sober but I have slipped a few times.
Still I haven't been this sober since I was a kid. It's going in the right direction.

- Always cooked my own food, and when I've been abroad no junk food has been allowed. This is standard routine.

- Switched from a night owl to a morning person.
During the last months of this year I've started to go to sleep around 8-9pm and wake up between 4-6am without any alarm. This is one of the best habits I've picked up. Productivity has skyrocketed.

- Reduced weed smoking. I have never been a stoner or a big smoker.
But during the last two years I've had a fag in the evening before sleeping time after a long heavy day. Relaxed me and made me tired and ready to sleep.
I didn't want to be attached to it so I cut it out. 3 months without a smoke.

- Did a full renovation of my house by myself.
Took a long time but I was happy to finish such a big project.
Now I have a kickass place, only the location sucks. Ha.

- Spent quite a time with the best quality girls in my life so far.
If you had showed me pictures of these girls 5-6 years ago, I would never ever believed I could have pulled anything like that off.

I'm optimistic about 2015. Things should continue to go uphill.
In fact, next year will be a big adventure on all levels because I have nothing really written in stone.

I don't know what will happen in 2015,but I'm ready to join the ride!

Good threat.

1. I bought my first apartment. 2rooms, 86m2, nothing to fancy but perfectly located. 1 Nice terrace with a BBQ pit. 1 music room with all my guitar stuff and 1 big enough bedroom with a walking closet where I can finally can keep nice clothes away from humidity, dust and other shit....

2. Finished a business Brazilian Portuguese course for 8 months, pass with flying colors, starting an advance Portuguese course in Jan,2015.

3. Got rid off a 1 year LTR who was not putting up with my crazy lifestyle. Finally free again.

4. Made it to Sapphire member in one world and Gold member in Star Alliance. This was tough considering I took over 100 flights in a 12 month period.

5. Visited every single country in Latin America except for Honduras, Jaimaica & French Guyana. PM me if you need any advice.

Downside, all the traveling and business meetings/drinking fucked up my 8% Body fat and tone.

I also slept with 5 or 6 hookers. They are perks from the industry and did not pay for it so I do not feel bad but anyway.

The harder you practice, the luckier you get.

Great thread. Congratulations to everyone who's kicked some ass this year!

- Launched a men's mentorship website with a couple of podcast episodes

- Started a Facebook entrepreneurship group with almost 200 members

- Moved from the US to Canada for a working visa, then back home to New Zealand, moving to Melbourne in a few weeks

- Made a handful of great lifetime friends

- Maintained my longest relationship so far at a year and a half

- Spent more time with family

- Maintained my gym attendance, leaned out considerably from 17% to 13% bf

Looking over what everyone's accomplished struck a bit of an envy/jealousy chord with me, also frustration that I could have accomplished more this year. I always try to promise myself that I'll do more next year but I always get caught up with things.

I think I'll come back to this thread often as a reminder of what men can accomplish.

Loving this thread.

Game:
- Maintained a 2 year LTR with a great girl. Broke up with her and got back together, but realized that loving someone is not enough reason to be with them. Banged two smokeshows on the side - top two of my life, both SNL. My girl is moving away in february, will strive for at least 10 bangs in 2015.

Personal life:
- Bonded even more with my best friends, got disenchanted with most others. Neglected my family a little, but I've realized my mindset is completely different from theirs and it's useless to try to explain them my views and plans. Still love them though.

- Had my first ayahuasca experience. It was hard, but very fruitful. Looking forward to the next one in january.

Professional life:
- After a stint unemployed, secured a very good internship, made some money which I plan on reinvesting in something that will help my carreer and personal life.

- Finished my first big project in journalism. As a student, achieved a top 5 position in a national competition against experienced professionals and big media.

Travelling:
- Very little travelling, only one big trip in january/february (datasheet here).

Fitness:
- Stopped judo, started BJJ. If time allows, would love to do both BJJ and boxing next year.

- In the weight room, a bad year with a sweet ending. Struggled with improvement, had some small, nagging injuries. Now I've implemented a basic method of always increasing either sets, reps or weight (I used to up only weights!) and my strength is finally evolving. I plan on doing more mobility and bodyweights movements (Ido Portal and Alvaro Romano style) to strenghten every link in the body.

Overall, I feel 2014 was a year I finally understood a lot of stuff. Next year will be one to put these things to practice.
