Anyone Actively Sell On Ebay?

I took apart a driveline part in a Benz a while back and found the common failure part was not available. I found it in Europe though so I ordered a shitload of them.

I'm the only guy selling them in the U.S. Or eBay. It's a oh fuck moment when you see the part and find out it's not available. I make 115 dollars each on them I sold two in one day last week but usually about 1 a week.

I just waste the money I make buying shit on there but it's fun.

You think like me. There's a lot of money also to be made cross-referencing things like CV boots and bearings (especially if you gotta replace it anyway) and then posting them on eBay as a non genuine part. You can even drop ship. I do this for stuff that the motor factors have told me is 'main dealer only mate'. Most people can't be bothered to measure up and wade through supply charts if an eBay search brings it up under the correct

A buddy and I have been toying with the idea of getting a CNC lathe and maybe VMC to do small repair parts that are expensive from main dealer. Stuff for motorbikes, diggers and that sort of thing. Once you've made a part for a customer then you've got the program saved and it's just a case of chuck the stock and press go. That and a CNC lathe would be really cool.

I started selling midcentury office supplies on eBay when I was 17 and I've since left and opened an independent website hosted by Shopify, but if I hadn't, I would have moved to Amazon. The traffic on eBay isn't nearly as strong as when I started in 2010, and it's only losing.

These selling limits on Ebay are hurting me lol.

Does anyone know after how many successful sales I can request that my limit be raised? It is after several successful sales, or is it made on case by case basis?

If you've got at least a few feedback and no problems (i.e. negative feedback or other buyer issues) go ahead and call them. They may ask you database questions, i.e. info based on public records (make/model of your first car, stuff like that). If the info you provided isn't real, it becomes slightly more complicated. I'm going to do a write-up in the private forum when I get access with a lot more detail.

But basically, they're just trying to keep out scammers. As long as you aren't stuttering, you'll be fine.

Yup. There are all kinds of products like this you can sell, using the above methods. Just so long as it isn't branded, it's fine to sell any generics. Don't go buying NFL Jerseys and labeling them "generic" though. If you're in doubt, just google and see if there are copyrights/trademarks on the item you're thinking about selling.

Almost anything can be generic. Avoid counterfeits. Be honest about what you sell and you'll do well.

Heh. I have already have a few sales (and happy customers, wrote back messages), but still... 0 feedback.

That pisses me off...it is hurting my business. Am I the only one is such situation?

And, when I have several sales, and no negative feedback/open cases, it it possible to ask my limits to be raised (e.g to 1000- 1500$)? Has anyone done something like that before?

Nobody bothers leaving eBay feedback any more. Don't sweat it.

Buy some cheap stuff like pens or whatever office supplies you need high volume sellers leave feedback almost one second after you pay them.

And yes it matters. When I sell stuff people only leave feedback once in a while.

Finally raised my sellers feedback to 3, yaaaay!

Apart from Ebay, does anyone sell on Bonanza or eBid?

If you do, do you have a better treatment as as SELLER, compared to Ebay (I do not have any problems, but I hear horror stories)?

And, does it have a decent amount of web traffic?

Is fulfilment by Amazon dropshipping with another name or does one have to have their inventory shipped to amazon, and Amazon is the holding place?

I did over a million in sales on eBay alone in 2014, this year it's been non stop issues with Paypal and merchant providers. If anyone has a grandfathered account with no selling limits and also has high paypal selling limits feel free to PM me. I have a product that will sell all day long and plenty of room for us both to make money. If I get back on eBay you'll be competing with me which is fine but currently I'm not so would rather have someone buy from me and sell on there than have no presence at all.
