Taliban lead massive attack on a school in Peshawar, Pakistan

You guys following this?

At least 126 people have been killed in Peshawar after 5-6 Taliban militants attacked a military school. Out of the 126 at least 92 were children.

The majority of the victims were children of Pakistani soldiers, so this attack really sends a message. I know there is a pretty steady-stream of terrorist attacks in Pakistan, but this one is sure to be significant.

A Taliban spokesman said "We targeted school because army targets our families. We want them to feel our pain".

Seems like a poor move if the Army has superior firepower. If their families were getting hurt before, what is it going to be like now, with the whole Army in revenge mode?

As far as we were always led to believe, the Pakistani military has always been in bed with the Taliban/Al-Quaeda.

After all it was them that hid OBL for so many years...

Pakistan is just a fucked up country full stop; it's quite scary to think they have nuclear capabilities really.

I think it would only be elements of the Pakistan military that are collaborators, then more who are sympathizers, maybe too many for them to clean house effectively.

The more educated amongst them have something to lose-- which I believe has a protective effect against sheer stupidity. I don't think a lot of higher officers with master's degrees believe the 70 virgins crap.

Their relationships are "complicated". Only some of the military was sympathetic to OBL. They all hate the US more than they hate OBL or the Taliban. They do not actually get along well with the Taliban at all. But with many things, the enemy of one Muslim is often times the enemy of them all (the USA).

If the US was never involved in Pakistan and Afghanistan, they would be casually fighting with each other and India, as if it were just another day.

The only solace I take from Pakistan is that it has a rich tradition of sending its future leaders, both military and political, to the UK for their education.

Put it this way. The only reason NATO and USA didn't invade Pakistan was because of nukes. I'd rather they have nukes than poke that hornets nest.

The same goes for Iran.

Hijackers Surprised To Find Selves In Hell

NEWS • World • Death • Islam • Terror • 911 • ISSUE 37•34 • Sep 26, 2001
JAHANNEM, OUTER DARKNESS—The hijackers who carried out the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon expressed confusion and surprise Monday to find themselves in the lowest plane of Na'ar, Islam's Hell.

"I was promised I would spend eternity in Paradise, being fed honeyed cakes by 67 virgins in a tree-lined garden, if only I would fly the airplane into one of the Twin Towers," said Mohammed Atta, one of the hijackers of American Airlines Flight 11, between attempts to vomit up the wasps, hornets, and live coals infesting his stomach. "But instead, I am fed the boiling feces of traitors by malicious, laughing Ifrit. Is this to be my reward for destroying the enemies of my faith?"

The rest of Atta's words turned to raw-throated shrieks, as a tusked, asp-tongued demon burst his eyeballs and drank the fluid that ran down his face.

According to Hell sources, the 19 eternally damned terrorists have struggled to understand why they have been subjected to soul-withering, infernal torture ever since their Sept. 11 arrival.

"There was a tumultuous conflagration of burning steel and fuel at our gates, and from it stepped forth these hijackers, the blessed name of the Lord already turning to molten brass on their accursed lips," said Iblis The Thrice-Damned, the cacodemon charged with conscripting new arrivals into the ranks of the forgotten. "Indeed, I do not know what they were expecting, but they certainly didn't seem prepared to be skewered from eye socket to bunghole and then placed on a spit so that their flesh could be roasted by the searing gale of flatus which issues forth from the haunches of Asmoday."

"Which is strange when you consider the evil with which they ended their lives and those of so many others," added Iblis, absentmindedly twisting the limbs of hijacker Abdul Aziz Alomari into unspeakably obscene shapes.

"I was told that these Americans were enemies of the one true religion, and that Heaven would be my reward for my noble sacrifice," said Alomari, moments before his jaw was sheared away by faceless homunculi. "But now I am forced to suckle from the 16 poisoned leathern teats of Gophahmet, Whore of Betrayal, until I burst from an unwholesome engorgement of curdled bile. This must be some sort of terrible mistake."

Exacerbating the terrorists' tortures, which include being hollowed out and used as prophylactics by thorn-cocked Gulbuth The Rampant, is the fact that they will be forced to endure such suffering in sight of the Paradise they were expecting.

"It might actually be the most painful thing we can do, to show these murderers the untold pleasures that would have awaited them in Paradise, if only they had lived pious lives," said Praxitas, Duke of Those Willingly Led Astray. "I mean, it's tough enough being forced through a wire screen by the callused palms of Halcorym and then having your entrails wound onto a stick and fed to the toothless, foul-breathed swine of Gehenna. But to endure that while watching the righteous drink from a river of wine? That can't be fun."

Underworld officials said they have not yet decided on a permanent punishment for the terrorists.

"Eventually, we'll settle on an eternal and unending task for them," said Lord Androalphus, High Praetor of Excruciations. "But for now, everyone down here wants a crack at them. The legions of fang-wombed hags will take their pleasure on their shattered carcasses for most of this afternoon. Tomorrow, their flesh will be melted from their bones like wax in the burning embrace of the Mother of Cowards. The day after that, they'll be sodomized by the Fallen and their bowels shredded by a demonic ejaculate of burning sand. Then, on Sunday, Satan gets them all day. I can't even imagine what he's got cooked up for them."

I never read the army attacking schools etc, but Taliban sure because these places don't have the defence capabilities.

The only way the tribal region will be peaceful is when
A. They don't have islam or
B. They have gulf oil wealth or
C. They create a new country there and Pakistan is partitioned.

Part C is the most likely.

Somehow I think it will go back and forth. They hit us we hit back etc.

The Pakistani ISI, their intelligence agency, has worked with the mujaheddin in the past and the Afghanistan Taliban off and on. They still work with them and various terrorist groups currently harassing India.

Should also note that apparently we found documents in Bin Laden's compound proving that a dozen ISI officers knew he was hiding in Abbotabad and were in contact with him.

Don't know what their relationship is like with the Pakistani Taliban.

This isn't a surprise to me at all, half of ISI is in bed with the Taliban, the other half is in bed with the west sucking on their foreign aid tit and also supporting the Taliban.

The triabal regions are riddle with Taliban and autonomous.

The Paki gov is awaiting the next military coup of course. They need to get their shit together.

Fucking shame for the kids, but the Talib are sending a message and hitting them where it hurts.

This (and the Sydney hostage situation) is going to add fuel to the push-back against the muslim immigrants ruining western Europe. Those big protests in Germany are going to spread.

And if the Russian ruble collapses along with oil prices, hold on to your hats people.

If Russia is pushed out of the dollar market (i.e. all the other nations go along with the USD/RBL suspension) they will be denied the ability to participate econnomically with many other businesses and countries.

If it gets to that point, and BRIC countries abandon the dollar for gold-backed currencies (Russia and China have been buying a lot of gold lately), it is pretty much a set up for WWIII.

They themselves do not see it as fighting kids, they see it as fighting Western values, that is why they kill polio vaccine workers, education will eventuality drive them out of the bad situation, the Taliban like many people who use fear, need constant surplus of ignorant and scared people. Killing kids for them is really saving them.

That is how they see it.

I'm wondering why they've specifically gone after the military children this time. They could've pulled this shit before, but they didn't.

I feel too often like a Soviet citizen reading between the lines of Pravda.

My conclusion is that the Pakistani Army has escalated the conflict somehow, in a way that hasn't been reported. It wouldn't be that hard for them to pull off a massacre in these tribal areas and get away with it, it's the middle of nowhere. The Jihadis are are-faced liars anyway, so nobody will believe anything they say.

North Waziristan had always been protected by military intelligence and so had become a haven for al-Qaeda offshoots. But in the past 6 months Pakistani army troops have killed nearly 2000 fighters and deeply disrupted what is left of the Pakistani Taliban. The group that took over the school complains of the perfidy of the government’s bombing. So this school attack was the Pakistani Taliban taking revenge for the government’s disruption of their terrorist activities. This is not a sign of strength but of weakness, and they lashed out at a soft target. They are facing a major defeat. That is its significance.

Here we go again.

The funny thing is when you are on the ground in this area, People, policemen, politicians will ask you:

What and who is a Taliban?

A military officer from Skardu who served in Waziristan told me when they attacked a gang of so called Talibans. They killed a few of them and they went to take a look of them. He said that all of the killed men had their foreskin intact. Muslims cut their off. They had long hair, long beard and a lot of porn movies in their camp.

Who were these men?

- Talibans, the military and the politicians say.

- Local tribelords, the local people say.

On the other hand, yes Pakistan is a royally fucked up country.
It was interesting to travel around there for two months.

The ambassor in Lahore who I hung out with a lot always suited up to the nines when he went to Peshawar to refill our stock of pure brown Afghan hash.

Being high on a rooftop in Lahore during sunset sipping green tea and watching the whole city doing their evening prayers was an experience itself.

I once met a businessman in Abu Dhabi, he told me:

He, who haven't seen Lahore, have not seen the world"

Might be some truth in that statement...

These tribal guys (Taliban, if you will) really are warriors. They're experts at mountain guerrilla warfare and have been doing it for centuries - even the U.S. military smacks down any notion of them being lanky pussies from guys arriving in Afghanistan.

They're warriors, they just have no morals or honor.

Third world semi-isolated mountain cultures such as the Gurkhas, Chechens, and Pashtuns (Taliban) definitely put out a higher percentage of badasses than plains cultures. Beyond culture, just living in mountains hardens people physically and mentally. You'll find a lot of badasses sprinkled through small mountain towns in the US and Canada, too, but our societies are anti-warrior, developed, mobile, and have a high convenience factor which makes it harder to build up a widespread active culture/community of warriors like the 3 groups mentioned above.

As my 2 boys get older I plan on regularly doing a bunch of altitude training (mainly hiking with heavy backpacks) as part of my strategy to harden them up.
