'I like that they wore their personalities externally.

'I do understand their measurements can't ever possibly be achieved because they would break.

'I think it's interesting how fabric and thread can just easily manipulate the body to do such an extreme silhouette though. '

Growing up, Kelly was a tomboy, and says that corset training has helped her to overcome childhood shyness.

She said: 'As a little girl I was very shy and I loved the way comic books portrayed the characters.

She continued: 'I liked that Batman is actually Bruce Wayne but when he puts on the batsuit it allows him to become this vigilante.

'He was the same person but the different outfit allowed him to channel a different side of himself.

'I've always loved how certain pieces of garments gave you permission to let out certain parts of you.

'So I think that's what tight lacing does for me, I wanted to become my own super hero villain.'

But waist-training is not without it's problems and Kelly does struggle with some physical tasks.

She said: 'The corset can be restrictive when going up the stairs and you can't carry too many heavy things because you could hurt yourself.

'I actually did hiking in my corset and that's very dangerous.

'I also played soft ball in a corset once, that was an interesting feeling, but I don't go to the gym in a corset - that's really dangerous because I do weight lifting.

'But if I do want to do something extreme, I don't limit myself. If I have to be out of my corset, then I'm out of it.'

But despite the limitations, Kelly has no plans to hang up her corset, despite facing some negative comments online.

She said: 'I get mixed reactions.

'Some people really love it, some people really hate it, but I always did it for myself - I didn't really do it for people's reactions.

'I love modifying and its often mistaken that modification is being a means of not loving yourself but I modify because I can, because it's fun.

'People say that it looks unnatural, but I have big bright blue hair - what part of me screams that I want to be like everybody else?'

Simultaneously, this debases white women in relegating them to mere sex objects, beyond the broad-spectrum treatment it gives all women.

It is no coincidence that Mel Blanc's two most famous characters are Bugs Bunny, a white rabbit, and Daffy Duck, a black duck--where Daffy Duck plays the dim-witted, boisterous foil to the more clever, controlled Bugs Bunny in their concurrent appearances. The history of rabbits and color in fiction is another one that is fraught with bigotry and prejudice--white rabbits are associated with destiny and correct decision-making (e.g. the invocations of the white rabbit in Alice in Wonderland and The Matrix), whereas the usages of rabbits of color are plagued with negative connotations (see, for example: Gallo, Sevigny, et al., The Brown Bunny (2003)).

At this point, we can agree that Jessica Rabbit is but another example of the long-lasting legacy of a racist, misogynistic, dead white male.

We should ban the Mel Blanc family of cartoons from television to keep it a bigotry and misogyny-free zone for children.

It doesn't tighten her heart or her lungs.

What it does do is shift her small intestine down, and her liver and stomach pop up a bit.

Some women find bras straps annoying or painful to wear. So they wear corsets, which supports their breasts from underneath, instead. Since Steam Punk took off. there's plenty of places selling corsets again.

And that whole thing that women were always fainting because of their corsets is a myth. There's youtube of women riding horses, playing tennis, even dancing polkas in corsets just fine.

Unlike body piercing or tattoos, body molding doesn't appear to be permanent --anyone who's taken them off can attest to the slow rearrangement of flesh moving back into place for a few minutes afterwards. However, Mz Dekay's gone over into tight lacing, which almost no one does other than her and a few other odd balls, and seems to mostly learning how to hold your body in a certain way with alternative muscles, kinda like an extended belly dance routine.

The main side effect of tight lacing (as opposed to taking in only an inch or two, which is the majority of corset wearers) is the intestine is trapped and digestion slowed during wear. Nowhere near the effect of a surgical stomach band, though.

The women who benefit most from corsets over bras are hefty girls whose breasts weigh a lot more than a bra strap can comfortably carry on a shoulder.

She's definitely in that category.

Oddly, Andy Warhol wore a surgical corset the rest of his life after being shot. So sometimes guys wear corsets too.
