I hope a painless way to remove tattoos is never invented.

I do not see the point of these articles. We can not change anything. Not one of the girls who read the article make any life changes, or think it through. And seeing this amount of dysfunctional people commenting makes me loathe mankind even more. In a sense it was a net loss for me, made me no better, given me no new information, took my time and made me feel like shit with just having a tiny glimpse in the life of these horrible creatures.

I love that women tattoo themselves - just gives me information about them that I didn't even have to tease out. 'Tramp stamp' as we say in Australia.

If this one article ruined your day and took up a significant amount of time in your life, you have bigger problems to focus on.

I would suggest avoiding Everything Else and checking out the Newbie and Lifestyle section.

I think the point is to make others aware of the absurdity we are living in so that other minds can arrest it's spread.

Any rational thinking person will read those comments and see just how truly abhorrent these people are.

Mr Forney is just up to a bit of prole trolling.

Wrong. Matt's piece, just like the fat-shaming week, is exactly how you change culture. It's the equivalent of putting rounds on target to destroy the illusions of your opponents. Very effective, and I expect it to be echoed in more mainstream media questioning the wisdom and style of tattoos.

Of course there is a substantial business interest on the other side, with thousands of small businesses around the world who will try to maintain body ink's popularity.

I have been with some women who had tattoos and were embarrassed about it. Some had had tattoo removal procedures, with varying degrees of success, and some, for financial reasons, were stuck with ink that they wish they hadn't gotten. I expect that some of the women reacting with such defensiveness on that Facebook page, on Twitter, or in the comments section of the post will eventually regret their tattoos when they get older.

No one gets in trouble for saying that 2 + 2 is 5, or that people in Pittsburgh are ten feet tall. Such obviously false statements might be treated as jokes, or at worst as evidence of insanity, but they are not likely to make anyone mad. The statements that make people mad are the ones they worry might be believed. I suspect the statements that make people maddest are those they worry might be true.

As far as the point of these articles, I've always seen it as a way to sort of anonymously let other men know, "Hey, if you're thinking these things, guess what, you're not the only one."

Now I can't speak for the intentions of Matt writing the article, but it was not published because it "trolls" people. I am in complete agreement with the contents of it, and published it because it closely matches my beliefs.

I don't understand why it's labeled "trolling" just because it pisses people off. ROK is intended for men, and it's not our fault if those outside its main audience find out about us.

I don't get the white knighting. Like, do the guys think that if they get mad enough, girls will just lay down in front of them, depantsed, and ready to rock a cock?

^agreed. sjw's are trying to change the meaning of "internet troll". a troll is someone who logs on to a forum or board and deliberately posts messages to provoke an angry and visceral response from the community on the board at large.

posting your typical topic on ROK (which would never anger the ROK community) is not trolling. just because it offends some outsiders to the community, who show up for a few minutes to decry us, does not make the article an attempt at "trolling".

trolling on ROK would be if someone posted a nawalt or fat acceptance article with the intent of riling up the membership.
