All right.

I know this story is a bit on the petty side, but...well, sometimes the small victories in life are what keep us going.

The story: Man is waiting in line in Burger King, listening to some screaming punk kid and his awful mother. Kid wants a pie and won't shut up.

So guy buys every pie in the place to spite the kid, the mother, and teach him a lesson.

The Greek sages of old would have loved this story. It would have been turned into a teaching parable.

So a while ago I had decided to treat myself and go to Burger King. I hadn't had the greatest of days and I had a headache coming on. It was a very long line and I was at the end of it waiting patiently. When behind me comes this woman yapping on her cellphone with a little monster of a child. This kid was out of control, screaming, punching his mother throwing around a gameboy whenever something didn't go right in the game. The mother didn't seem to pay any attention to him and his continued yelling of 'I want a Fucking PIE'. After about 5 minutes of the line with these people behind me, I had gone from a headache to a full on migraine, but nothing was going to stop me from getting those burgers.

I calmly turn and ask her nicely if she can please calm or quiet her child down. Immediately she gets up in my face telling me I can't tell her nothing about raising her child and to mind my own business. I nod and turn around, shes still yelling at the back of my head when the child cries out again how he wants a pie, the mother consoles him, calling him sweety and ensuring they'll get pies for lunch because she loves him so much. Things immediately go back to the they were and I wait another 5 minutes before getting to the front of the line.

It turns out it was so slow because they had 1 trainee on cash during the lunch hour rush. All I can think of is how the people behind me ruined my splurge and gave me this headache. I then decide to ruin their day. I order every pie they have left in addition to my burgers. Turned out to be 23 pies in total, I take my order and walk towards the exit. Moments later I hear the woman yelling, what do you mean you don't have any pies left, who bought them all?

I turn around and see the cashier pointing me out with the woman shooting me a death glare. I stand there and pull out a pie and slowly start eating eat as I stare back at her. She starts running towards me but can't get to me because of other lineups in the food court. I turn and slowly walk away.

Lack of discipline is indeed one of the main problems in our society and single moms are the worst offenders.

In this case she was not even making the attempt. That guy did a good job, though they will likely not learn any lesson from it anyway.

We men are way more suited to convey discipline just by our presence alone, if we haven't allowed ourselves to become pussies and feminized Betas. I see it every time I encounter a strong Man with his family. The difference is amazing - even teenage sons and daughters happy and at peace walking with their parents at some shopping spree.

He dropped close to $30, on top of his existing food expense, just to prove a point to a fat kid?

I would have bought a bag of weed that money and it would have still been a more productive use of that extra money.

Two things immediately came to mind. The first was a stand up (which I can't find anywhere) from an Australian comedian called Russell Gilbert where he is at the check out line at a supermarket and a kid behind is having a tantrum because he wants a Bertie Beetle but his mother won't let him have one. It culminates with the comedian buying himself a Bertie Beetle.

The other was of the pie scene in Dostoyevsky's The Double, which is one of my favourite scenes in literature.

It's the parents fucking fault for raising this kid. I would never have acted like that in public because I would have gotten hit with a belt or mixing spoon when we got home in addition to getting no apple pie.

Some Western places take the kids away from patents for this. Some would even send parents to jail for it.

Besides - hitting a kid is only necessary when the child cannot understand anything and gets a tantrum (age 2 or so) or is having a hysterical fit.

The funny thing is that most temper tantrums as well as unruly behavior recedes via high quality healthy food, lack of sugar and caffeine (in chocolate or soft-drinks). In fact there are schools which take in children with behavioral disorders and give them a full wholesome diets and more than 95% of children stop behaving the same way.

So actually the first fault of that mother would be to stuff her child with yet another bomb full with high fructose corn syrup and plenty of addictive substances. If she had done the pie at home, it would have been a different experience.

Besides - any similar behavior should result in pie-embargo for a month - the same goes for sweets and soft-drinks. A child of reasoning age responds to discipline and the realization that actions have consequences - no beating and crap like that - that is not necessary.

Discipline is love and the Alpha state in a Man can convey that most effectively.

Contrary to popular opinion, women do not inherently know how to control kids. Men are often much better at it. It makes one wonder sometimes just what unique value women bring to society besides childbirth.

I was talking to a friend of mine a while back about this difference in how kids are raised in the US vs. in Europe.

The gist of what he was getting at is that in the US, we spoil our children much more than they do in Europe.

If this is true, maybe in creates a sense of entitlement like we see in this little brat.

If my buddy is right, I'd be curious to know why spoil more than in Europe.
