Cardguy Appreciation Thread

I decided to roll the dice and start this thread in a moment of clarity (or self-delusion) this morning.

It just came to me: Cardguy is bloody hilarious.

On a forum that espouses game, travel, languages, and personal improvement, Cardguy has the balls to take completely contrary positions, starting introspective threads that (you must admit) are thought provoking and stimulating.

Game? Cardguy is ambivalent.

Lifting weights? Cardguy isn't convinced.

Travel? Cardguy doubts its utility.

Women? Cardguy pines away in self-doubt.

And yet he's unstoppable. Old Cardguy trudges along, in the best British tradition, despite all obstacles. To understand England is to understand Cardguy.

He absorbs torrents of abuse and scorn from other Forum members, but never--for one minute--loses his cool or descends to vituperation. He maintains frame (yes, I said it) and goes about his business of engaging us in conversation. That takes balls.

What hidden stores of strength, what secret prides, animate the minds of men! Cardguy has confidence, even if he doesn't think he does. I sense a wellspring of pride under that marshmellow exterior.

I hope he develops it.

His threads never fail to stimulate, cajole, entice, and enlighten.

Keep it up, Cardguy. And don't slack off.

Cardguy IS England.

Cardguy forces you to question the unquestioned.

"I have refused to wear a condom all of my life, for a simple reason – if I’m going to masturbate into a balloon why would I need a woman?"

I made a comment about this unique personality the other day to another member.

I don't agree with everything he says or thinks, but it has crossed my mind that Cardguy would be one of the more interesting members to sit down with for some whiskey-drinking and an attempt at intellectual discussion.

Yeah, I read Cardguy when I get tired of threads like "Should i grow a beard and walk around suited up all day to get more used up sluts to sleep with me".

He flounts Forum orthodoxy on a daily basis.

He takes a contrary position on pretty much every issue.

He doesn't give a shit what anyone thinks.

He knows how to push our buttons, to get us riled up, to get the party started.

Dare I say it? Dare we admit it? Is Cardguy.....an alpha male?!

You nailed it. Cardguy is one of the few real intellectuals on this forum. He doesn't aim to be the popular guy.

Thanks for the praise everyone. I knew setting up a separate account under the name 'Quintus Curtius' would come in handy.

As for my 60% warning level. True dat'!

I was in Malta and managed to get logged on to the internet. And I see a bunch of PM's about my warning level going up.

Okay - not a problem.

Then I go to make a post - and the software blocked me.

I'm like - WTF? I thought I was on a 3 month ban and sent Roosh a PM requesting a perma ban.

He PMs me back telling me to re-read the last PM.

I even PM'ed Teedub saying I was outta here.

Anyway - turns out my shitty IP location in Malta was upsetting the forum software and not allowing me to post!

So - ban averted. For now ;-)

As for me - on behalf of me and my gf - Pink Floyd rock forever!

Gulp! I didn't know that. I have no desire to enable another member's misbehaviors.

Cardguy, behave yourself. Don't make me regret posting this thread. Play by the rules, and don't screw up.

My praise of you has nothing to do with your opinions, since I disagree with most, if not all, of them.

What won me over to your readership was the unflappable demeanor in the face of criticism; the stolid, obstinate persistence in your opinions; and the strong sense that you have an inner reserve of confidence. I slowly became enamored of the rambling, stream of consciousness style of posting, which carries hints of teasing, cajoling, and a dash of mayhem.

It reminds me of a poor man's version of Marcel Proust, where we are given an inner window into the soul of a wounded but sympathetic soul.
Or is Cardguy more like Ezra Pound, spouting inanities and follishness 99% of the time, but with that 1% being matchless brilliance? I am not sure.

In any case, I still maintain that Cardguy is the quintessence of modern England. Ambivalent, furtive, and tortured, but possessing reservoirs of endurance and confidence.

I hope you develop it, and not waste away on the internet in front of a keyboard.

We're watching you, mate.

Cardguy is the essential nihilist. While many forum members, including myself, are nihilistic about the world while being hedonistic and trying to get as much out of it as possible, Cardguy is nihilistic about the world in general and just doesn't care. Such men are great for this forum, since they help us understand alternative ways of thinking. I would love to have a philosophical discussion with him sometime. I am sure his views would mirror those of Diogenes.

True story this.

Once I was in a nightclub reading 'Origin of the Species' by Charles Darwin.

And this chick who was a '10' approached me for a conversation. She even wanted to hang the next day.

Another time I was at a party with my feet up on a couch reading a book.

And this chick who was a '10' approached me for a conversation. This chick invited me to another house party the following week - which I went to.

Didn't get any bangs - since I was a blue pill loser back then (of course - now I have upgraded to being a red pill loser).

So - maybe there is some kind of 'game' buried away in being a big reader?

Who knows?
