Rule clarification on race discussions on RVF

The past month saw a lenience in allowing discussions about race and Jewish concerns. After observing this closely, I have determined that it is in the best interests in the forum to clamp down on these types of discussions for four reasons: (1) they breed resentment in the community, (2) they leak onto other threads and degrade them, (3) they form combative "tribes" of members fighting each other based on ideological belief, and (4) they ultimately bring no positive value in helping men with women, travel, self-improvement, and lifestyle, principles the forum is based on.

Here is the existing rule on race:

Quote:Quote:

3. No race baiting. It's okay to talk about race if that's the topic, but no geo-political discussions on why one race is superior or inferior to another or why an upcoming race war in X country will be bad. This is not a forum for political discussion.

This rule will be more strictly enforced from this point on. Specifically, I will be suspending members who:

-start controversial race threads
-hijack threads by introducing race into a non-race topic with an inflammatory remark

As of now there is no specific ban on immigration or religion discussion, but since these threads historically have caused a lot of problems, I will keep a close eye on them.

I fully understand that race and zionism has some relevance in our lives and can be worthy of discussion, but the public parts of the forum are not the place to do it. You are free to use the PM system to discuss race issues with other members in private. If you see someone race baiting, hit the report button and I will investigate.

Awesome. After 33 pages, clearly nothing was achieved by the "Jews" thread.

This forum should be about "doing" and less about arguing the finer points of the exact nature of the world we live in.

I liked it when a lair forum I was a part of made a requirement for members to post annual goals and then follow through.

I saw photos of different "lair" meetings in my area and you aren't too far off. It was basically like the apartment situation in the HBO show "Silicon Valley." You had a bunch of geeks and one confident spiritual adviser, and they would use code words (e.g. HB9, IOI, MPUA) to talk to each other.

Agreed.

I've been on countless forums and the takeaway I find is that it's not about "X vs. Y" or which "team" wins an argument, it's about putting down as much information as you know on the subject without falling into the mindset that the differing side of the argument is the enemy or inherently false. The more hostility there is between sides, the more likely people will try to back up their original stance without compromise, even if they know they've made an inaccurate assertion somewhere.

I've embarrassingly done this many times, I write out my opinion on a stance giving the arrogance that I couldn't possibly be wrong. Then somebody posts something contradictory that makes a lot of sense, and I have to scramble to try to justify my original stance that internally I am now questioning. But had there not been any hostility in the first place I would have said "Hey that's a good point, you might be onto something here."

Without derailing this thread.. I think it's important that guys be as honest as possible on "Would you hit it?"

Good initiative. Anything regarding "culture wars" pertaining to overall societal issues should be excluded too......(my 2 cents).

There is too much trolling on the WYHI thread. There are guys saying that they wouldn't bang girls because of eye color and long noses.

Back to the main point, I welcome this move by Roosh. While the Judaism and terrorism thread had excellent points by both sides, its very existence was antithetical to our forum's vision and mission.

I was wondering if I could get some clarity on the IRT thread. While it is (technically) race-baiting, I've seen a streak of comments supporting self-improvement and helping Indian newbs out. It would be sad to see a thread that has become so positive closed down.

What I've been saying since day one. While there is some value in discussing race-based issues, this isn't the place. Like I said in one of my last posts, this is pretty much the final stop where you can be unapologetically male. I've only been signed up for 3 months, and have drastically improved my life thanks to the content found here. As far as I'm concerned, you guys are brothers in the front, fighting against the blue pill reality we've been force-fed by the outside. So with that being said, we have more similarities than differences, and focusing on those differences does nothing but create nonsense.

One things for sure. If I'm ever out and I overhear someone use "cock carousel", "beta orbiter", and/or "hamster" in a sentence, his next drink is on me.

I think there's a huge market in rehabilitating IRTs but not tapped yet or may never be because they are so cheap and can't get help from within their own ranks for free.

I like cardguy. He's friendly and does contribute a lot of the forum in the form of links to articles, etc.

However, I don't think that this is the place for him, just like this isn't the place for anyone who has made a committed decision to choosing the services of hookers in place of engaging in the sort of self-improvement necessary to getting the high quality women each man desires.

Not that I'm in favour of outright banning anyone who behaves themselves, but I think that a forum such as this one will be more valuable to the membership if the majority of that same membership was actively on the path to self-improvement with the ladies.

Nevertheless, a lot of the current membership has been attracted to RVF because it is a safe place to express red-pill mindsets. While I joined just over a year ago myself, I've been told by senior members that the forum used to be much more Game and Travel focused. Is this a bad thing? No, it just means that RVF may be a different place than it once was.

That being said, the forum still has value as a place to find support to improve oneself with respect to Game and pursue Travel ambitions. There are plenty of places to discuss race issues or discuss the merits of modern American women. We should only engage in those activities so much as it does not disrupt members who are interested from sharing and benefitting from Game and Travel topic.

The "IRT" thread and meme should be locked because it has escaped its original purpose. That is my humble opinion, especially after this new policy. I do not see the thread as positive - though I certainly agree that an overwhelming majority of young Indian guys need serious help, weather they be FOBs, or not. A separate thread about helping guys of a certain race might be fine, because after all that is just a niche thread, and we can all maximize our own niche.

However, I will personally make an effort to never again engage in race threads.

P.S. CardGuy is very informative on a lot of logical and thought provoking topics. I just tend to ignore the race and religion specific threads.

The cold weather has had people strung out. Rio called a jihad over Asian girls, and I never learned where to get the best Jewish bagels from the Jew thread. Haha.

Only serious thing I'll add... Is that I have always been in favor of a politics sub-forum in the knowledge section. It can be easily policed, be a honey trap for race trolls, and I feel that a group of men can rationally talk about politics. Women are the ones whom shun political talk, it's bizarre a collection of well traveled men with many backgrounds can't openly talk about the stuff.

"Politics don't get me laid bro"

Yeah no broad gonna get wet off Ban-Ki-moon but it's still healthy for the mind to have knowledge and good debate on the subject. Knowledge is a key part of self-development.

The IRT thread will remain. I am still trolled by Indians in real life so I feel that that thread reflects reality more than any other race issue on the forum. Of course, the tone of that thread will remain jocular and light-hearted.

Those who are offended by that thread should not enter it.
