Roosh/Tuth have put a massive amount of effort into this place and hopefully that gets factored into any stay/leave judgment call being made on the basis of this prank.

This. And it's the understatement of the year.

The amount of effort Roosh and Tuth put into this day after day after day and the value we all get from it is vast. A bad prank is f'ing completely meaningless in comparison.

Perspective.

It's not just a bad prank for some guys.. did you read the Westcoast's post?

Well this is the aftermath.

I put up a post with a couple different pics and my theory.

I went back to edit the post a bit and I got a message to the effect "this message does not exist."

Was told by Tuth to play along or stay quiet. So I played along and even reported on a couple of posts that didn't help the thread [Image: biggrin.gif]

I thought the funny thing was my last comment in my post (the deleted one) "Surely Roosh has more than one shirt."

Obviously, there are multiple thoughts about what happened, but it was nice to see the genuine concern.

I do hope that this doesn't have any lingering consequences, glad Roosh is ok. There are far too many men I admire on this forum and would miss their presence.

Once you lose one's trust you have to work twice as hard to get half as much back. Not sure why anyone would purposely do that to themselves. Boredom?

I was trying to score dark triad points. If girls find out I've been in jail, I will get more sex, etc.

The funny thing is that that photo will certainly be used by feminists as "proof" I've been in jail. That was the only blowback I calculated when devising the prank.

If you knew this forum, you'd know that the power tripping was meant to be a dead giveaway precisely because everyone would know that Tuth would never do that in real life.

I do not know the forum that well. You know it better, I admit. But, I did a googling and it doesn't sync up with your characterization.

I'm glad Roosh is okay and not in jail. He's fortunate to have so many people concerned about his wellbeing and willing to try to find help for him.

Being one of those people, though, I'm curious how the conversation will go tomorrow morning when I walk back my own request for help.

It'd be one thing if Tim & Eric claimed to be imprisoned, since their fans would expect it to be some kind of performance art. But that's inconsistent with the Roosh "brand."

Yeah, it's really unfortunate that some guys called real-life contacts and potentially caused lasting damage to their credibility with those people. If it wasn't for that I'd say the prank was damn funny and really well done, but I can understand why people who now have to explain this to their contacts are pissed off. However, I think it's clear that Roosh and Tuth didn't foresee the prank having that kind of consequence, and certainly didn't intend for anyone to come to actual harm. Whether they should have foreseen this is a different question that I won't try to answer here, but at worst that would make the prank an error in judgment. I think we should at least be able to agree that there wasn't any malicious intent or lack of respect at work here, and it would be a damn shame to lose any senior forum members over it, especially when you consider that the reason those members are in this position in the first place is because they're invested enough in this community to be willing to throw down substantial resources when it looked like Roosh was in trouble.

Tuthmosis and I conspired to prank the internet that I was in jail. The picture used is from the German DDR museum. Two weeks ago I put it on my personal FB page and had worried friends contacting me asking if I was okay. Realizing the power of the photo, I came up with the idea to have a hoax with two stages: (1) Me in jail, and (2) Tuth going "mad" with power.

I expect many of you to be annoyed, and I hope Tuth and I didn't betray your trust with the prank, but the security and viability of the forum was never compromised and the picture was just too good not to use. Credit goes to Tuth for his "new rules" (http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-33...#pid667804 ), which---if you were in on the joke---was quite amusing. I also did not expect the story to be as believed as it was, since there are many flaws in the picture that suggest it's not a real jail cell, but on the other hand, the prospect of me going to jail is not unexpected. If you are pissed off, I recommend you read Tuth's bulletins to see the humor in the prank (the "bill me later" option was my favorite).

Not cool Roosh, Fisto was pretty on top of things trying to put a lid on some of the inane tangents some of the chicken-brained members were going off on, while attempting to focus the forum's efforts on getting you out. As for me, I was simply waiting for the donation link from Tuth to get you out of there, man.

As a fellow entrepreneur, I understand any publicity is good publicity, though. But...a hoax? ROK articles are a much more honest way to build a connection with your audience. An "I got arrested" hoax? Seems a bit drama queen-ish, man.

To be honest, I think you owe quite a few of the forum members an apology, man. This was a pretty immature stunt, any way you dice it. In any case, moving on. Back to more important matters. Long live the forum!

@gringochileno

This. I thought it was funny, but then again maybe I, and others, should take a lesson from the members who immediately took action to help a friend in need. That was a noble thing to do and I respect what those guys did a lot.

However, it seem a lot of guys are missing the big picture though: It was a prank!!

I remember a few years back me and a buddy fucked with one of our roommates rooms in our frat house. He came home in a bad mood and went apeshit when he found out what we did.

We didn't speak for 2 weeks...

Now we can look back at it and laugh at how ridiculous it was. Hopefully that will be how this works out.

I must say that I really did not think guys would make calls. This was an large miscalculation on my part, and I am sorry to the guys who did pick up the phone or sent emails. No one deserved to get burned for trying to help me out. I thought the prank itself out, but not the response (obviously).

MCF: I demand you free him or I'm coming to consolidate with one of my Polish colleagues and will file suit for declamation of characters.

KPD: Do you mean MikeZF? Z is a vowel here so name make no sense

MCF: May I speak to your superior. Now!

That's what I figured was going on. It would be ludicrous to believe that you were trying to hurt the very people who would be most willing to help you out in an emergency.

Didn't follow this real time and caught up all at once but...

If I were Tut and Roosh, I'd place some phone calls to certain members and apologize personally. I don't think e-apologies cut it. They may not change their minds but they probably deserve it.

Another irony is that damage was done to RVF not by some fat feminists but by it's own trusted membership. We have met the enemy and he is us? Kind of takes some wind out of the momentum built up in 2013.

I didn't need to see a picture, I just took tuthmosis word for it because I thought he valued his credibility.

Seems he doesn't.

Big apology to the guys on the forum for me getting upset with them for questioning whether or not Roosh was actually in jail.

I was just in a Dominican holding cell for 24 hours a few days ago, I didn't want roosh to have to be in anything like that for any extended period.

This.

And no apology's needed, man. In a situation where an ally tells you he's in jail, in a foreign country no less, you don't ask him for proof that he's in jail, lol. You work on getting him out of there ASAP.

On my end, I was waiting for the donation link from Tuth to appear.

No apology needed, man.

If I wrote an article entitled '24 Signs She's A Slut' or 'Girls With Short Hair Are Damaged', I could be charged under anti-vilification and anti-hate speech laws, and imprisoned, an experience that defined me as a young man and that I have no wish to revisit. This is the risk I take with every comment I make on here, but I say what I say for the sake of hoping young guys might understand the psychological motivations that drive women before they get fucked over by them.

In return for the risk I take, my loyalty is called into disrespect when I'm - and let's be honest - fucked with for the sake of being fucked with. In which case, yes, I question my loyalty. What exactly do I really know about you guys except that I always trust for you to deliver straight talk? What's all this bullshit about "contacts?" So we made some calls -- I did too -- so what? I called my "contact" about getting a courier to deliver USD cash funds in-person to Poland -- he gave me the answer and we were ready to roll -- I called him back and said: miscommunication, there's no problem. He replied:

"Great, I'm relieved and I'm here if you need me in future. Have a good night."

How does that "burn" me?

Enough of the overreaction and melodrama. We're not women.

How could it be a miscalculation? How OLD are you?? It's the most immature sounding thing I can think of. The *VERY FIRST* thing I would expect to happen, if I told thousands of my customers (that's pretty much what we are) that I was in trouble, was that some percentage of them would break whatever china is necessary to lend a hand. That's what men do. A 17 yr could get away with that excuse. Not an adult. I don't know you personally but you sound very immature, and the connection to Tuthmosis (who sounds equally immature - "BAN HIM! BAN HIM"!) now seems completely appropriate. It gives life to the old feminist meme of MRA/PUAs being guys in their parents basements playing D&D.

My last post, for a long while anyway. If you guys want to replicate the social dynamics of a 16 yr old group of girls, have it - it has nothing to do with me.
