Rob, like Vaun, I am almost 40, just a few years younger than you.

For me the "sirs" go away if I'm tan and if I dye my hair.

I'm not sure your skin complexion, but for me a tan (or tanning cream, I use Clarins Liquid Bronze) takes off 5 years easy. I have very pale skin and contrasted by very dark hair so I look like a dead man walking with no color. Your mileage may vary depending on your complexion, but I haven't seen many guys over 35 who look very good pale. Caucasians look especially bad.

Regarding the hair, I don't like any of the permanent or semi (or demi) permanent dyes. They have ingredients like PPD, ammonia and peroxide and you don't want any of that shit on your hair let alone your skin. I do one of two things: use a non-permanent dye (actually a stain) called Cosamo love your color. I researched it and mainly women use it, but there are no reports of skin irritation like many people report from the permanent dyes like just for men.

Another option, depending on your type of hair is to clipper it short. I cut it down to a #2 guard, which is 1/4 inch. This look will not work for a lot of faces. I have a small nose and ears, and a very straight hair line like David beckham. If you have a bigger nose or ears or a curved hair line, you may be better off using non-permanent dyes.

Some guys have talked about threading their eyebrows, but I've done that and it didn't make me look any younger. My normal thicker eyebrows are actually a better look.

I do the other things the guys here talk about too, getting enough sleep, no stress, drink a lot of water, moisturize, etc.

Whitening and or straightening your teeth helps too.

Also...my hair has no gray and ...if my dad is any blueprint...he didn't get grey til almost 70...I should be good there. Also got a full head of hair...my hairline is a little high...but not receding as it's been that way always.
I pulled a cute college girls number yesterday by the way....but she was like in her 5th year so probably 24 ...maybe 25.
I do seem to find that my hair short clipped seems to make me look a little younger. Kind of like Brad Pitt's hair in the Tree of Life. Have you noticed a difference in young women's perceptions of you with facial hair vs no facial hair?

Instead, I will respond to a couple of the ideas of earlier posts. Actually, I had intended to respond earlier to several posts in this thread b/c there have been so many good (and seemingly relevant to me) issues coming up through this thread, but I keep getting side-tracked with other aspects of life....... Maybe, since this is a thread about aging-matters, senility or Alzheimers has been kicking in with greater force?

I am going to post a little more about these various aging question later; however, I have been giving quite a bit of reconsideration to how I present myself to people regarding age in recent years.

Previously, I had never really lied about my age; however, recently, when I am attempting to pick up young chicks (in their 20s), I thought that i would give lying about my age a shot in practi e, since i am passed my mid-40s.. .. so in essence I attempt to cut 6 years off of my real age... .. .and then to be vague about the details of the subject matter.

Only in recent times (about less than a year) I have developed a whole story around this lying about my age, so then it brings up questions and concerns in my thinking about whether I look my age or NOT.... so whether my story is plausible.

Sometimes people guess my age correctly (when I ask) and sometimes they do NOT. I am NOT really into the attention-whoring of having people guess my age, but sometimes this kind of interaction can be a fun little diversion from other topics - depending upon the circumstances.

I find when I get into specifics about my life story, I tend to want to resort to telling the truth about my age in order that some things make more sense.... but if I am meeting a girl for a one-night stand or some other kind of short relationship, then those kinds of details or whether they add up may NOT really matter or even come up as part of anything that anyone has interest(s)...

In the end, I continue to have my dilemmas about this whole aging story matter and the extent to which lying about my age is fruitful or even worth the effort. I am likely going to post more about this topic in the very near future... and this thread seems as good a place as any for such content.

I doubt that too many guys here want to hear what Ross Jefferies would do, unless RJ is posting himself.

Surely, sometimes you can incorporate various theories or comparisons of the experiences of other guys, but it seems to me that personal experiences tend to receive more traction in this forum.

What about you, XM24, can you talk from your own personal experience(s)? Are you over 40, or getting near that? Or do you have some other aspect about yourself that may be comparable to the aging factor, that would relate to this thread? Have you been in a situation in which NOT giving up paid off? Is there a time in which we should we give up or readjust our focus?

I recall that some young guys (much younger than 40) have participated in this thread to bounce off ideas... regarding the age-factor, so I doubt you have to be 40+ to contribute to this thread.. though it would likely help (even though it probably NOT a prerequisite).

Have you traveled to some of all of these places that you proclaim are better or worse for guys of a certain age group?

Let us know how your personal situation fits into this theme and your advice or provide a link in which you have discussed that kind of information in one or more of your other posts.

I am over 40 and Gio's points are spot on.

I think too many guys are assuming that young girls aren't into older guys, I don't know what percentage are and frankly I don't care. I can easily pick up girls 20 years my junior because I don't look my age.

The main thing is too keep the weight off, lose the belly. A lot of older guys get that bloated look from over eating and drinking alcohol. Vodka is my drink of choice because it is light, dark liquors generally have more calories.

One thing I fight with is getting enough sleep and trying to reduce bags under my eyes.

What causes it for me is:

1) Lack of sleep

2) Poor quality sleep

If I go to bed after midnight, I will get bags under my eyes.

The only solution I have found is going to sleep before 10pm for 3-4 weeks straight.

Honestly, When I get older, if I have serious "bags" under my eyes, I might consider cosmetic surgery.

It makes a difference to your body. Earlier hours 'count' for more. Getting 8 hrs is key, but getting them as early as possible helps even more. I'm a night owl so doesn't help me, but that's what the sleep research I've read says. fwiw.

It makes a huge difference.

The hormones in the body regulate and replenish themselves between 10pm and 2am.

The longer we stay up late, the more our body chemistry gets altered. This can often effect fat storage, fat loss, muscle retention, bags under the eyes, skin, etc.

Don't take my word for it.. If you research this topic, you will find that the data in pretty conclusive.

Personally, getting early sleep is the difference between having bags under my eyes and not having bags under my eyes, it's the difference between looking younger than my age and looking my actual age.

Yes. It's more a collection of techniques, concepts, and strategies.

1) Working out -- the better I look, the more responses I get!
2) Good sleep -- the better I look, the more responses I get!
3) Dressing well -- the better I look, the more responses I get!
4) Being funny -- The more she laughs, the more responses I get!
5) Being a good flirt -- The more sexually aroused she gets, the more responses I get!

If you can pass for under 40 you've got no worries. Chicks dig older guys. Many of them have Daddy fantasies. I have never lied about my age and not a single 20-25 yr old has cared that I'm 15-20yrs older than them. If they like you, they'll let you hit it. That simple.

Stretch it as long as you can. It's just another shit test. Once she knows, the fun will be gone. I usually clip it early with something like, "our age difference seems to bother you. Are you SURE you are mature enough for this?"

Or "we only get to be mysterious for so long, why rush it?"

I'm about to turn 41. My last bang is barely 19. I'm usually working with the 18-28 age range. I have lost bangs because of my age, but more women don't care about it than do, MUCH more. And I often get the "I like older experienced men, I'm sick of BOYS!" from women.

I'm 58. If you're in your 40's, in the US and want college girls under 25:

1) Do it now, the decline in your acceptability is non-linear once you're 50-53+
2) Make sure you can get out of the USA or get rich/famous as early as you can if you want to be happy in your late 50s.
3) Don't bring anyone back to US.

You can def get 18-22 year olds in the phils, up to about 7's.

If you want the girl to stick around, I'd definitely hold off as long as possible in letting her know you're real age. YOu want to be sure she's hooked on you and the more time she has invested, the less likely it is that she'll write you off just because of your age.

If she really pushes you for a # sooner than later then I'd minimize and tell her 38, assuming you think you can pull it off. 40+ is gonna sound old to most in their 20s, especially in this case where the girl's mom is only 45.
