Free ticket to ride on the Moscow metro for squats
By Anne Sewell
Nov 8, 2013
Moscow - The Moscow metro in Russia has come up with a novel way to get the public fitter. They are offering free single-trip tickets to passengers who can perform 30 squats in front of the machine.
As can be seen in the video above, the metro in Moscow has set up a most unusual ticket vending machine.
It doesn't just give you tickets and change. Basically it suggests that if you can perform 30 squats, you can have a free single-trip ticket. A special device has been installed in the machine to record the number of squats, and it doesn't look as though it would be easy to cheat your way to a freebie.
Initially, the machine will work until December, but the metro is looking into possibly installing more to promote sports elements to Muscovites and give them tickets that cost them, literally, diddly-squat!
