I'd rate Belfast as friendlier, has a more villagey feel - like Galway, it doesn't really feel like a city (while Dublin does)
Belfast also has that 'best of both worlds' feel to it, seeing as it has (culturally speaking anyway) one foot in the UK and the other in Ireland
The city centrey parts are similar to Dublin in that it can be kind of cliquey, but out around Queens University(studenty, well to do area), it's friendlier, and the you'll have no problem getting chatting to chicks in the studenty bars in this area

So with Dublin being the "real city" between the two, logic would dictate Dublin has more to do and more girls than Belfast? For a game trip, which would you recommend?

I think Belfast has slightly higher quality of women, and overall a little bit more friendly and approachable women
I don't have much experience of Belfast from a game perspective, but I would imagine, it's on a par or perhaps, slightly easier to game women up there
Belfast still has plenty to do, again thanks to the UK influence (and I say this as someone from the Rep of Ire), it feels somehow more developed in a way, than Dublin
Overall, I'd go slightly in favour of Belfast over Dublin for a game trip

After my one night in Dublin I don't know if I could recommend it for gaming at all, not unless you were just coming from a place that has no opportunities whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, I think Dublin is a fun place, just not for game or women really.

Will post my Saturday night adventure in Dublin shortly.

What exact nightspots did you hit? Dublin is mediocre for game but not for any of the reasons you listed, really.

Your Downtown Dublin section talking about gambling, minorities etc is heavily coloured by the fact you were staying in a "hipster" area. Georges St is home mostly to gay bars and hipster mid 20s bars. If you'd stayed somewhere further south (Stephens Green / Leeson st / Dublin 4) type area you would have seen office workers, leafy avenues and luxury German cars.

Your women section is also odd. Irish girls are notorious amongst foreigners here for dressing like prostitutes - massive high heels, makeup, faketan etc. Liverpool/Newcastle style. If you'd gone to either youngish clubs (crowd 18-23: for example The Palace, Play) or high end clubs (crowd 21-30: for example Krystle, Bucks) you would have been hard pressed to find a single girl in flats. Now saying that, quality is low - the average girl is probably a 6, as opposed to a 7 in good spots in the U.S. / Aus. And the 8+ ones have attitude to match. And one night stands are rarer than with girls in other Anglosphere countries. But its massively easy to makeout with girls, you should have been kissing at least 1 girl a night as long as youre not massively ugly. And Irish girls are great fun - will usually be nicely drunk and up for a bit of banter as long as you dont make it too obvious youre hitting on them from the outset.

Your men section is just bizzare. Irish men are shorter, skinnier and worse looking than Australians or Americans by a longshot (and I say this as an Irish man!). Irish men are known for being funny/charming and drunken, not good looking. Most Irish guys are 5ft 10, 160lbs, pale and have brown hair. The aggressive tracksuit wearing types are the Irish versions of chavs, similar to what you'd find in ghetto areas of the U.K. If you'd stayed / gone out in better areas you shouldnt have had any dealings with them (or even seen them, really).

Bottom line: it sounds like you only went out / hung around in hipster/ghetto areas of Dublin. No idea how else you'd get your impressions so wrong. There was a very good datasheet posted a while ago here on Ireland that covers my points in even more detail, you really should have had a look at it before you made your trip: http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-10877....ht=ireland

Edit: and to add some negatives, so it doesnt just sound like I'm cheerleading Dublin:
-Expensive: 5eur for a pint of beer, 10eur into a nightclub
-Bad weather 9 months a year
-Lower average quality of girls than the U.S. or Aus
-Harder to have one night stands than U.S. or Aus

Theyre the ones that most guys who've spent time gaming in Dublin would mention.

@Zatara – thanks for the advice. Finally getting around to posting a summary of my one night in town. I too am trying to be objective but I won’t sugarcoat it as you can read below. I think Dublin is a fun place, just not for game or women for the most part.

On Saturday night I hit up a bunch of pubs/bars and nightclubs in Temple Bar. First off, to give a sense of the scene in and around this part of town (the only area I went out in), I wanted to outline some of the standard stuff I observed while being out and about at several bars and clubs that generally leads to a bad situation for ‘gaming’ IMO (in the Anglosphere at least).

1) Abysmal Ratios – the ratios seemed to be just horrible – say 70-30 men to women at best, getting a little better later on but not much. Very few girls above say a 6 too. The live music scene early on also brought in a lot of guys and their girlfriends I think, and further contributed to the poor ratios. Pretty slim pickings really.
2) “Reverse Busted Dudes Test” – I saw tons of fit, in shape decent looking guys (no homo) with fatties or even land whales (!!) who’s only redeeming feature seemed to be an arguably pretty face (that was nonetheless done up with tons of makeup). Worse, these guys seemed to be fairly happy/content with their girls from what I could tell.
3) Huge groups of obnoxious, drunken, fat (many obese) girls running around in very tight skirts and/or leather pants. I’m not sure how or why these women think they look good and what they are doing is just 'having fun', but they don’t look good at all and are very annoying. I guess in the land of fatties the 20-pound overweight 5.5 is king. It’s amazing that they can be that overweight and nobody tells them it’s unhealthy, let alone ‘dress it up’ and celebrate it like they are some kind of nightclub queens.
4) Drunken louts/no-game dudes harassing girls or grabbing girls and cold approaching saying stuff like “you’re beautiful” on the street. I saw this 2x just walking around looking for bars to hit up. Inevitably these girls ran away and I can only imagine all this behavior inflates the egos of these women and you get the “San Francisco 49er” effect (4s that think they are 9s). I’m not saying that this approach can’t work in certain situations, as going caveman certainly can, but these were mostly pathetic ‘hail Mary’ attempts when women were walking around town looking for a place to go (and inevitably every place in the area had zillions of drunk thirsty dudes, so they had plenty of options). Seemed like pretty poor game to me. I guess that's an opportunity, but with so few targets it didn't really matter at the end of the day.

Anyway, I made several approaches but got exactly nowhere. And pretty much zero girls inspired approaching let alone passed the ‘boner test’. You know you’re in trouble when you see the Thai immigrant girls ‘gaming’ dudes at the club!! That’s what I saw the one sexy Thai girl I was talking to upstairs at the bar for a while doing at the downstairs club later on that evening. She was basically playing every guy off in the club for drinks, dancing with everyone - game recognized! Other than her I stuck up a nice conversation with one of the only groups of half-decent Irish girls (6s?) but turns out they were there waiting for their boyfriends. I’ll admit it was hard to motivate to talk to the multitude of ugly fatties, and the lack of options made it doubly difficult.

I just don’t know why anyone would come her other than to see the scenery (a righteous goal in itself) because the women I saw were mostly pretty bad, the rations are awful and the environment isn’t great. There are so many other places to go in Europe that unless you live here and have some reason to be here I don’t think its worth bothering. Part of that is probably due to me having been in Russia for a while and not being able to ‘recalibrate’ my game and preferences (for fatties?) a little bit I think. By all means do come here to sightsee though, and make sure you get out of Dublin and tour other parts of the countryside, which look beautiful.

I was in temple bar yesterday. The people there are mostly foreigners. The Irish hang out in very specific places, but maybe %20 were actual Irish.

Well, I went on a family trip meaning lodgistics and time were F-ed up. So I got to go out one night in each place with a few hours to approach. I am gonna check both out again to not mislead anyone. But people in general, were extremely cool to me in both. Dublin being the best for me.(This could be very subjective...I was in London during NYE in Chinatown or Piccadilly circus or whatever u call that area, and it was to mixed of a crowd that I didn't get a feel for brits as much as just Europe in general. We hit up Rumba and a salsa club and some other spots. I was with black Q, and another cat who follows RFV, but I don't know his name. We had 5 girls from Jerusalem who, in the end lodgistics didn't work out for a flag, but I got the invite to come the TLV anytime this month or next, and they said they will take care of me. So I may go.

As for Dublin, I had the craziest time in Coppers. The bouncers all told me that it was deader than normal, but the ratios were like 60/40, with more girls. The crowd is international, but it was craaaizy for me. I had to fly out at 8:00 am and left coppers at 4:30am, got my bags and dipped to the Airport. but in the 2 hours I got 3 makeouts, many many drinks brought for me, and was seconds from getting a BJ outside a side street.(long story) There was a bar we were in before that, girls approached us immediately as we walked through the door. I will get the name for u. THis was a irish spot and was it good. But Irish guys are by far the coolest/friendliest guys of anywere ive been. and they will toss girls at you in masses. Ive never seen locals do that ANYWHERE as much as that. I had a much better time in DUB.

But this is ONE night which is why I didn't write a datasheet yet. ther nights werewith family

wow nicely done.

Totally agree about Irish guys being pretty friendly and helpful. That was my (limited) experience at least.

I am with you on London girls (the foreigners at least) being better than white girls in the US but bit surprised about your views on the Irish.....I guess I missed them...or just went home a little too early (was in bed by 1:30am))))

i think the irish bars we hit were possibly the top talent. But IDK...they ran circles around american girls IMHO. Unless you talk about only college girls in america.

Wow Akula, I feel kind of bad for not explicitly warning you off Temple Bar in my original post in this thread as well now - it's near the area the original poster was staying in that I was hating on. It's very, very hit and miss. It's notorious amongst Irish people for being full of English stag parties, 7eur pints and just general awfulness. You'd be hard pressed to find more than 10% Irish people in a pub there on a Saturday night I'd say. It can be alright if you want to hit on tourist girls, and if you're lucky enough to find a big group of them. But otherwise it's very much worth avoiding.

If you ever come back you should try to hit the Harcourt Street (Coppers is here) / Leeson St areas like I mentioned in my previous post. You'll find actual Irish people (!) in these areas, lots of girls, pretty buildings, decent clubs etc. Bear in mind my previous disclaimers about Dublin though - it's easy enough to get laid but finding a 7+ girl is hard!

elabayarde your Coppers experience is great, made me laugh. Coppers is known for that sort of thing. It's notorious as a place you go in Dublin if you've failed to score elsewhere, its a real pickup joint. This is both good and bad: 'high class' (read, 8+ in looks) girls won't go there, but the ones who do are usually up for a one night stand. It's a 1500 capacity club that's open later than anywhere else in the city, and busy 7 nights a week, too - so you're pretty much always guaranteed a good time as long as you're drunk enough to lower your standards (and get over the awful music).

I'm heading to Dublin next week for a couple of meetings, have already pipelined a very hot Russian blonde who lives right in the middle of town. Have escalated her via text and skype into saying she'll stay with me a few nights at the hotel on O'connell St.
But i want to know where to head out for drinks with her so i can at least peruse the talent, and have a good time before taking her home to bang (i've heard too many conflicting stories about Dublin nights, i want to have some fun without breaking the bank).
Also a backup place or two where i can head to game in case she flakes or doesn't put out..!

Any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated. Will be there midweek...

Stay out of Temple Bar - its all overpriced drinks, large groups of drunken English stag parties etc.

For good date bars:

Capitol ( http://www.yelp.ie/biz/capitol-lounge-dublin ): 5eur cocktails (cheap for Dublin) and nice couches for a date. At the weekend its way too busy, midweek you can rock up and get a couch at a table and a few cocktails, is pretty ideal.

Pygmalion: ( http://www.yelp.ie/biz/pygmalion-dublin ): a bit hipper, they'l have good (but chilled) dance music on. Seating isnt as good but if shes a bit hipster it'll be more up her street.

No Name bar / Market bar (both on the same street opposite each other) ( http://www.yelp.ie/biz/the-market-bar-dublin ): both cool bars, again not as good seating as Capitol but a good vibe so good for one drink anyway.

All of the above are within a 10min walk (or less) of each other and will be good if you're 21-30 years old, if you're older/younger you mightn't like them as much. All also free in. Expect about 6eur for a pint of beer, 8eur for a vodka&coke.

I dunno if I'd recommend bringing her to a club, they're all pretty messy. None of the clubs in Dublin are particularly good music/layout/atmosphere wise, people pretty much just go to them to score. And they're pricey enough. All of the above will also be a taxi ride away from any decent clubs as the clubs are a bit further south. I'd recommend just starting early in the above and getting her back to bed by 0100.

edit: if you manage a night or two out single stay away from all of these bars completely, hit Coppers or Diceys (has Brazilian night and 2eur drinks on a Tuesday...great combination) on Harcourt Street, Bucks or Leggs on Leeson street or Cafe en Seine or '37' on Dawson Street.

I'm going to add some info on Dublin.

I'm Eastern European and I've been living here for the last couple of years. I'm average looking, have weak game and I mostly go out at the weekends so YMMV.

Random thoughts:
1. On average Irish girls are far below continental Europe quality wise: fatty, too much of a make up, unfeminine, etc but those few that are hot, are unbelievably hot.
2. Irish lads and lasses are friendly, funny, great at banter and storytelling but be aware - if you are not accustomed to harsh jokes, insulting and wittiness you can be eaten alive.
3. Cockblocking is very rare but I experienced one crazy situation - I was hitting on a Irish blonde in front of a rock band playing in one of the pubs in Dublin. Girl was responsive and I started kino when a singer jumped off the stage and started yelling that If I don't like his music I can leave etc clearly pulling me away from the girl [Image: huh.gif] [Image: biggrin.gif] I laughed him off and turned back to the girl but he waived the security guy who asked me to leave. Once outside this singer lad threatened me, wanted to fight me and throw xenophobic slogans. I was drunk and he has doorman beside him so I passed the challenge. Definitely that was wrong girl to hit on! [Image: wink.gif] Never experienced anything like it in Ireland again.
4. Best looking slim middle-class Irish girls I pulled from pubs on the outskirts of Dublin i.e. Malahide, Skerries, Deansgrange etc but again it's not an easy task because it's hit or miss, they are usually with their friends and you have to deal with their bitch-shields.

Most popular night clubs and pubs in city centre and my thoughts:
-Play, La Fayette, Q bar around D'olier Street - cheap clubs for working class teens and foreigners. Quite a lot of good looking chicks in their late teens and early twenties. I'm too old to play there.
- Copper Face Jacks - happy drunken nights, a lot of teens and students,
-Dicey's/Krystle - legendary Tuesday's nights with heaps of foreign students, very easy to pull, on the weekends the crowd is average, (side note: there are quite a few nice spots on Harbour Street so it's a good place to be on general)
- recently open Bond club on Harcourt Street - old crowd, low quality
- Odeon on Harcourt Street - good number of high quality girls, expansive (9.20 euro for Jameson/coke WTF??), best to hit around 9 p.m. before clubs open, not easy,
- Dandelion beside St Steven shopping centre - usually older crowd (around 30) with a few foreigners mixed, expensive and the quality of girls is average but for some reason it's been the easiest place to pull for me, not sure why. [Image: wink.gif]
- Mercantile on Dame street - good concerts, salsa downstairs, a lot of Brazilians, Venezuelans etc,
- 4 Dame Lane - average club for no fuss night out,
- Cafe en Seine - my favourite place recently, expensive, nice mix of Latina, EE and thirty-something local girls,
- for Eastern European girls I hit Pifko, Czech Inn, Living room and Break for the boarder.
- for tourist chicks I'd go to Temple Bar area, i.e. Fitzsimons, Morgan etc
There are other options but these are my most recent visited places.

My favourite spots for day instadates: Tea Garden and Amir's Delights on Ormond Quay, Wall & Keogh on Richmond Street, Paris Bakery on Moore Street.
Good spot for foreign girls, especially Latinas, is Epicurean Food Court on Abbey street.

Hope this helps a bit anyone visiting Dublin.
Sorry for my poor English!

Do you get many hot girls in Ireland? I spent a week in Galway as a teenager and didn't see any.

Maybe it was just a bad week. Or is it symptomatic of a wider issue?

It reminded my first night in Dublin, a young girl running drunk in the avenue close to Temple Bar to reach their friends, her shirt was opening, she ended running showing the full of her tits and could not care less, she was laughing. The funniest is that a pack of cigarretes and money dropped out of her tits, i got the pack of cigarretes for me, she was too far away already, but left the money there for someone in need.

But what's up with Irish women not looking good? There are many fat girls in Ireland, but those who are not fat are stunning imo.

There are hot girls but they are in such a minority their bitch shield is off the charts. Like every other Irish girl they tend to smoke like troopers and drink like sailors. Being feminine and classy is alien to them - their role models are Samantha and Carrie from Sex and the City and when they hit the bars and clubs they look and act as such. Caked in make-up, barely able to walk because of their ridiculous heels and a fucking mess by the end of the night from too much vodka.

In short, a royal pain in the hole.

Thanks mate, appreciate this.
I'll be avoiding clubs if she's as DTF as she seems.. but Capitol sounds ideal for some lubrication.. not far from the hotel either, so good logistics.

I hear ya man. Looking to GTFO out to SEA as soon as possible. Ireland has the most wretched bet-up troglodytes anywhere on god's earth.
