1. What was your Russian language level at the outset of the trip?

2. How many approaches/interactions were primarily in Russian or English?

@ Tenerife - I took an introductory semester course at a college before leaving, and supplemented with Pimsleur. Most of my approaches were in English, and then I'd try my Russian if they didn't speak English. One stat I left out is 5/14 bangs spoke zero English.

@G - We often did not go to dinner before going out for two reasons. First, we like to drink a lot as you know and we would often drink at our apartment with music, especially if we had others coming over. Second, at least for me eating out gets me tired and reduces my energy for the night. So we'd eat at home around 8 let's say, start getting ready at 10 while drinking and leave around midnight.

Re the first point, it's still amazing to me that your buddy somehow managed to get all those bangs in Russia (in some of the most backwards-@ss towns too) without speaking ANY Russian and just using translator game. I mean to me that's impressive - wow! And it's also pretty impressive that you/me whoever can many times b@ng girls who don't speak much English with just lower-intermediate Russian skills as well....

You can take the kid out of California, but you can't take the California out of the kid.

Interesting strategy, I always like to see how other late night heads do it.

What I do is:

8:30 first cocktail at home
9-9:30 cocktail at hotel bar with double expresso (so no tiredness)
10:00 Light dinner
11:00 Cocktail at hotel and fully in The Game

This way I am cracking leads from 9pm on till 5 am if need be.

I work from 9-5.

9pm to 5 am that is.

This just made me remember how cool RVF is. Always loved EE gals, although I do find it somewhat hard to make conversation with most of them, they can be rigid boring blocks of ice, but often compensate on the outside Of course clubs give a different and more suitable atmosphere too.

Well actually he did study and learn Russian too. He was in the semester course with me and did a bit of Pimsleur. He just didn't grasp the language as well as I did. Maybe the best way to describe it is where I was basic conversational he was at basic vocabulary. He knows stuff like "ya hachu..." or "tbi gavareesh pa-angliski?" and so on. He could read/write cyrillic as well.

I was a bit further along, and can also write cyrillic in cursive for example.

As to banging the non-english speaking chicks, yeah that is pretty cool.

This was one of our greatest discoveries of the trip. Especially given we were going for 3 months, towards the end in Moscow we noticed a few girls getting coffee/espressos at the bar around 1-3am. We always were confused (and pissed) as to why the girls would be drinking coffee instead of alcohol.

One night we were dead tired and decided to get espresso shots. We immediately got back all our energy and were able to game again. It's genius really, and doesn't hurt you as bad the next day like redbull does.

I drink espresso martinis at a bar here sometimes. I'm not a big martini guy, but these are pretty fuckin good and after a few of them you definitely wake up. Probably healthier than the vodka Redbull I normally drink as a pick me up.

By the way on a side note, Studio 46 in Tomsk had THE best white russians I've ever had in my life. To the point whenever we went there half our excitement was for the drink, the other half for the girls.

Tbh if you lived in Moscow your expenses would probably drop due to lower cost long term rental and learning where to go. You Also wouldn't probably want to go out every night anyway.I know guys who do it much lower. Also maybe some venues have those club cards that are common in Ukraine?a

I've been learning Russian and can read and write it pretty well, but I've been wanting to learn to how write in cursive with cyrillic. I typed into Google "Russian cursive" and "Russian cyrillic cursive" and that produced some results, but I just wanted to see if you have any suggestions on where to go for this.

Any resources you suggest?

Slubu, I do not want to hijack this thread too much but you mentioned you were gonna stop by in Las Vegas after your trip and hit a few clubs. How was that experience? Did the top club talent in Vegas compete at all with the model's in Moscow/Tomsk? Also, 2 years ago when I was in Vegas surprisingly I saw a few Russian tourist girls on the streets but was too shy to approach, perhaps that's an angle to try now that you've gotten to Intermediate level in Russian.

About picking Moscow as the top spot: I remember you mentioning being face controlled many times. Do you feel this would be a long term impediment to getting girls there? I especially ask because if you're getting face controlled, then I know I definitely will.

The fact that Russian girls are more sultry than Ukrainian confirms my suspicions that the two have large differences and I will have to trek my way out to Russia at some point. Just when I thought I could take a break from studying Russian..

You are right on everything. My costs were lower because of splitting with my buddy. It does include all transportation, including to and from America. And they do have those club cards, at least some places mentioned them.

Honestly nothing I know off the top of my head. We learned it in class, during the semester course. I thought it was pretty easy, but my buddy couldn't get it for the life of him. So it may be something that you either get easily or you don't.

One thing I will say is that as easy as it is for me to write it, it is much more difficult to actually read cursive. All the lines/squiggles blend together, it's really ridiculous. There were many times in class we would all just laugh because when she wrote a word on the board it just looked like the same line repeated 10x in a row.

It was pretty horrible. I detailed the best story in McQueen's Vegas sheet just now, but absent messing up an almost sure pull with a Brazilian stripper I was off my game.

The night before I arrived was the night I spent with that blonde from the club in Moscow, the one I was most attracted to and she was treating me like a king. So I get to Vegas and I'm just comparing all these girls to the Russian ones. Already I'm in a bad mood. And I forgot how cavemanish you have to be in Vegas.

Once every few years in Vegas I see talent the level I saw in Moscow several times in the three weeks I was there. American girls don't have the ability to carry themselves in that manner, so even if they are aesthetically as hot, which is not common, they fail to give you that overall sexuality that just burns you up with desire when you are out at nights.

To answer your question about the impediment - I do not. The face control in Moscow was different than places like Tomsk or Kiev. In Moscow, there is no rhyme or reason. The same person on the same night of the week with me wearing the same thing would let me in one time, and not another. It's just luck of the draw. In Kiev for example, they are outwardly racist and will sometimes face control you for your looks.

The most controlling factor I can think of is size of group. When I was alone, or with just my buddy, we'd usually get in. Throw in a girl or more guys and sometimes it would get tougher. But really it is just pure luck. Or go early, that seemed to counter it.

Ukrainian girls and Russian girls were very different to me. It was a shock to be honest. Especially the sexuality, it reminded me of Brazil. The way if they liked you upon meeting, their hands would be on your arms, chest, etc. within minutes. Kissing was also very passionate. Also Russian girls seemed a lot less racist. Don't get me wrong they are not PC by any means, as they still hate gays, but are generally more cool with other nationalities than their Ukrainian counterparts.

I'm probably a year or so away from actually doing a long term move, but even this morning as I was walking my dog instead of listening to music I listened to Russian Pimsleur. I'm not giving up.

Sounds right, but I'm not really qualified to give an opinion. I was there for 3 nights in 2010, pre-game. I did go out every night of course. I can just relay my experiences:

- Younger girls, a lot of 18+. One group of 3 18year olds consisted of 1) one telling me her dream is to move to California, and me dancing with her, 2) the prettiest one (very cute) telling us how ugly she is, and 3) my buddy (same buddy) almost getting the third to come home with him but she bailed when the cab pulled up

- A club denying entry to my buddy because he "stole from them last week." We had arrived that day.

- Girls being generally open and friendly. Asked some girls working a cafe where we should go at night and they couldn't stop giggling. When we eventually got there, girls everywhere just dancing on tables, going nuts. And this was a Wednesday. I think we got a number or two but didn't understand how to work it, plus we were only there for a few nights

It has a more relaxed feel to it, maybe like SF and Moscow is NYC. Wish I could offer you more but that's all I got.
