Do clothes really make the man??

I used to be my own worst enemy in this regard. Didn't pay any attention to fashion at all. I cringe to think about some of the outfits I used to wear in the past. (and that's not even mentioning some of my god-awful haircuts). I do much better now though I lack any sense of fashion so I can only take it so far. Plus, I'm living in Colombia where I really don't want to stand out too much.

Anyway, I do think clothes make a difference but what works for someone might not work for someone else. I know there are guys here who are big advocates of suits, but 1) I look ridiculous in suits and 2) I feel incredibly uncomfortable in them. Plus, I think women are attracted to different types of clothes. So you have to dress to attract the type of woman you're interested in.

Clothes are icing on the cake. It's way more important to be in shape and have tight game. There are guys who get laid in this world with nothing but board shorts (beach bum surfers) and guys who get laid wearing smelly old clothes just because they don't make it an issue.

Do they make it easier? A bit, but only if you care and cannot handle the social pressure.

I think wearing suits a lot gets rid of that feeling and I'm sure tailoring helps out huge too. I actually heard in an interview Sean Connery used to feel the same before he was cast to play Bond. The director made him wear suits all the time in the days leading up to film until he was comfortable and able to rock it with 100% confidence.

Yeah, probably some truth in what you say.
