Which of these timbs do you prefer? Was leaning towards grey but the brown is appealing as well.

Brown?

or grey?

Grey; but without Timberland written across the ankle.

Can't go wrong with the browns, or the classic color either. Timberlands are like white Air Force 1s, pretty versatile.

As someone who lives on the west coast (Arizona) I've never had the need for a pair of boots. My entire shoe collection is either my nike workout shoes, or Sperry Top Siders. Without socks.

Now I grew out of wearing vans and converse, I see everyone in this thread mostly on their boot game. Are boat shoes going to be something I grow out of? Or do you guys wear these too?

I've got Sperrys. Depending on the rest of my outfit, I either wear them barefoot with crew cut Nike socks.

I'm finding that a lot of boots vary in size even though they claim to be the same size.

I think I'm done ordering boots or shoes online unless I've owned a previous pair. I have a pair of 10 1/2 timberlands that are fucking huge on me and I can wear size 12 air force ones and they fit just about perfectly.

I've found just going into the store and trying things on to work best for me since shipping stuff back is somewhat of a hassle.

Decent deal on AE if you like the color. Dress/work shoe.

$227 on amazon today. As an example I saw a 9.5D for that price. It ranges depending on color and size.

I wear these. Great choice for smart hot weather wear IMO. (Have the same ones, but a darker brown colour)

Fitted shirt, rolled-up chino pants and these (ankles exposed). Add sunglasses and it's a boss look

I actually grew into these. Used to wear low-top converse and shorts when it was hot (Used to dress pretty casually).

Though I still wear boot-style converse with smart wear when I go out, to avoid looking like I've just come from my bank job.

Those are killer shoes.

Gucci makes perhaps the most comfortable leather shoes out there. You can slip on a pair of loafers, sockless, in the store and roll out and rip the town up all night and not even blister.

Agreed, Gucci make some really slick looking loafers. Some of their trainers are nice also, not the monogrammed stuff but the simpler ones with green/red/green strip.

I've had bad experience with Gucci's durability. I prefer Ferragamo.

I debated between the reddish version and the navy, but I'm pretty sure these pair better with my current wardrobe.

I've been contemplating Gucci Loafers for quite some time. They are pricy though but everytime I wait, the price on them keeps on going up. I may try to get a pair next time I'm in Italy. I had those Ferragamo loafers in the past unfortunately they weren't able to be resoled, they had the rubberized bottom.

Louboutin, Gucci, Ferragamo, Magnanni, Louis Vuitton, and Cavalli all make excellent leather shoes.

guccis aren't a particularly well made shoe but the name carries them. I've got a couple pairs but I don't wanna wear them if I have to do any real walking. I'd prefer a company that specializes in craftsmanship, lobbs, crockett jones, edward greens, vass, westons...they beat a lot of the flashier name brands out there.

AE is generally well made and as long as you polish and condition you should be ok. Consider putting tabs and that rubber sole thing to stretch out the life. My biggest mistake with my very first pair of nice shoes, is I had no idea how to take care of it. I wore them down to the point I had a hole in the sole. Had I known better I would still have that pair of Aldens now.

Some of AE's better shoes are goodyear welted which allows for recrafting. http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/Abo...1&storeId=

This pair looks like they are goodyear welted so you could have these for a long time.

Stylish, and as long as you like them, go for it!

Side note: Obviously you can buy replacement laces and shoe care from anywhere etc. But AE is cool with generally free shipping so you don't need to buy a certain amount to get free shipping.

If you end up really liking those shoes you might consider higher end shoe care products.

Shoe trees for sure!

I've had excellent luck with Gucci, I've also heard good things about John Lobb shoes.

Yes, I'm absolutely picking these up with the Neumoks:

I do a horrible job with this, but a shoe horn will help great deal and treat your shoes better. I am always trying to wedge in without one and sometimes stomp too hard on the back part of the shoe.

On a relevant note, I haven't had my shoes shined lately.

But I ordered some shoe conditioner and am going through and adding two coats of conditioner. I'll try and shine them myself.

But I realized how much I have neglected them over the last few years since I don't suit up much. I noticed a little damage from dryness.

Here is some of the shoes I have been conditioning. This part I can handle, slather on lotion and let dry. I'll see how I do when I have to get them to shine lol.
