Raw. Real. Rio. MaleDefined in Brazil

@MaleDefined...university classes start on Thursday, so anytime starting then would be a good time to hit Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro near Sugar Loaf like we discussed. Here's a map: https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

For anyone in Brazil right now: This is going to be a good weekend for university gaming all over Brazil because all the public universities start classes on Thursday. This is going to be a prime weekend for parties full of young girls who want to meet new people, so if you're close to a university, figure out your logistics and get down there. I wish I was still there. I'll have more to add to this thread when I've had a little bit more time to decompress...

Wrapping it up here in a few days.

In the spirit on Uncle Roosh, I'll hit Matriz tonight.

Finished in Brazil. Got a bang my last night there. She was a bit older, in her 30's, but an unforgettable smash. Brazilian girls know how to rock it.

I hit up Matriz on a Thursday, and I can see why it can become a very solid place. It's more of a rock vibe, but the girls dress like they're going out for a night on the town. What's to your advantage is that the guys dress frumpy and approach with much less aggression than most other Brazilian dudes. My fuck filter was on, so any girl that gave me a hint that she wasn't down tonight, I ejected from quickly. Didn't get the ONS unfortunately.

A few pointers to share to determine how gringo friendly she is:

-She's drinking a Budweiser

-I'll bring up the Backstreet Boys or N'sync early in the conversation. If she knows them, but wasn't interested in them she probably isn't interested in you. If she doesn't know them, she's too young. If her eyes light up, I would go on to say how I looked like one when I was a teenager and go forward. I found this to be a strong core satin piece for determining gringo friendly girls and increasing attraction.

I'll continue to update this with more game tidbits as they come back to me.

Concluding thoughts about Rio:

I've been removed from Rio now for a couple of weeks, giving me a chance to put my experiences into perspective.

I found Rio to be a very fulfilling place. Once I found my groove, I really felt comfortable and as if I was part of the city. There is a liveliness and vitality that emanates from the city that really rubbed off on me. Despite frequently being ill for one reason or another, I was exercising daily, hitting the beach, and making connections. By the time my month was up I had a girlfriend, some friends and a routine that was equal parts productive, relaxing and rewarding.

Before coming to Rio, I was concerned that the character of the place would be lost due to the World Cup and Olympics, however I can't see that happening. The Carioca lifestyle, from samba to Sunday beach days, is so ingrained in the culture that no short term event could spoil the unique lifestyle of Rio. I don't think Cariocas know how to behave any way other than the way they do now.

There is a lot of chatter about how Brazilian women are losing their feminine way. Personally, I want to quash those rumors. I found Brazilian women who love being women in abundance. Also, the fat epidemic is relegated to the lower classes of the population. No, you won't find 95lbs spinners in Brazil, but there certainly isn't a far epidemic in Rio among the types of women you'd want to meet there. One thing that I've noticed is that some members, without naming names, have bashed Brazilian women without having been there. If you don't believe me, have a look at the 'What The Hell Is Happening To Brazil?' thread and then see where some of the bashers have been on their countries visited part of their profile.

Having now filled my passport with stamps from around the world, Rio de Janeiro is the one city in the world that I must get back to. At the end of one month there, I was left wondering how much I would love to live there for six months there. I fear however that if I live for six months there, I may end up spending a lifetime there.

Great thread! Especially about the attitude you had about girls and their flakiness.

I am just now coming to accept how flaky and unreliable and hot and cold Brazilians can be after even more time here than you. For example now I basically just assume that any girl I kiss will never see me again just to preserve my sanity.

Offering low investment dates and trying to be persistent worked for you.

What do mean by being persistent though? Girls here are so frustrating when they make out with you but then are horrible at responding to messages sometimes.

I didn't realize how lucky I was with some of the first girls I met in Rio that actually responded to texts quickly.

Brazil is basically a great place to kiss beautiful girls.. And maybe getting laid on date 3 or so.. ( or get laid quickly with girls that aren't as hot)

I honestly do not really have the patience for hot Brazilian girls. I think I could only enjoy Brazil fully with lots of time and money.

Good logistics are so expensive here and the sense of urgency you have knowing you are leaving town soon is completely incompatible with the incredibly illogical and frustrating Brazilian flakiness.

I have kissed so many girls that just later left me scratching my head or even annoyed. You can get laid here but logistics will be expensive and it takes more time. Not a place to swoop in and get sex on a backpackers budget.

I think I could do very well here if I recreated a Brazilian version of the wildly successful time I spent in Colombia, another country known for flaky girls. I was there for so many months and actually lived there that I think I gave off a different vibe than I am giving off when I'm bouncing to new cities every week or two now due to other reasons. So I felt that the drop dead gorgeous Colombians were flaky but on average not so bad.

Here I'm only trying to deal with the hotter girls on average but am finding that even girls that are not that young or not that hot are still flaky as hell here. I pretty much do not like the dating culture here as of now. When I do Brazil again I would like to just love in a city for 6 months and see how different my experience is compared to my itinerant lifestyle this summer.

Wanted to bump this thread...

Is Rio doable on $2,000 a month for an average studio in Ipanema?

AirBnb has some decent studios in Ipanema at nightly rates of $30. Thus, I assume with a bit of haggling you could score a monthly rate around $700.

That leaves $1,300 for gym, cooking your own meals, and social activities. Just wanted to see what Rio vets had to say about budgeting there. Rio is said to be quite expensive, but if a studio is around $700 then a $2000 budget is seemingly feasible while still dating and going out a couple times a week.

I've been there 3 times in the last year, going back a 4th in April. No clue about what it would cost to rent an apartment for a month there but after looking at a lot of apartments I would be shocked to find a decent studio for $30 a night in Ipanema. I was staying in a nice studio (had a giant sliding door for the "bedroom" so kind of 1 bedroom) in Copacabana for about $80 a night and I thought that was cheap. Of course that was for a week, long term you have an advantage. And Copacabana will be cheaper than Ipanema if you want to save money.

That said, I don't quite understand all of the talk about Rio being an expensive city. I think its fucking cheap. I will admit, lodging is insanely priced, and will be your highest expense. Get past that and beer is dirt cheap. I don't know any other place where you can buy a tall boy from a vendor on the beach and pay $2. Taxis are cheap. Bars are cheap. Certain grocery stores are insanely priced but find the correct ones and they are cheap. No clue about gyms but there is this free gym in Arpoador that looks like its straight out of a prison movie. weights made out of bars and concrete. They have pull up, pushup, and dip bars there though. You can get a great workout every day. I would always buy a Brahma and drink it while I worked out. These Brazilians had to wonder who the crazy gringo with blond hair blue eyes was, drinking a beer while working out.

I have never stayed a month at a time, always just week stints, but judging from what I spent during those weeks, I could have easily survived on $1000 in a month, especially with the devaluation of the real. And believe me, I wasn't pinching pennies by any stretch. When are you thinking about going? Like I said, I'll be back in April. And along with knowing Brazilians, I now have a few American connections down there, one of them owns a bar. Cool guy.

Hey Guys,

I'll be in Rio later this week. I know there is a ton of info out there, but does anyone have any updates? Talking about the best places to go for Weds-Sat? Where are the model nights, best clubs etc. Down to do a Lapa street party as well. Was just hoping to find some of the same info I found on Sao Paulo.

Also if anyone is around Rio would love to meet up please drop me a message!

Thanks,

Americano

My 2 weeks in Brazil - Rio and Sao Paulo - aka known as the Good, Bad and the Fugly.

Ok - I debated writing anything about my trip. There were some good times, but just enough bad times to really piss me off. I am at the end of my two weeks, chilling in my hotel room in Sao Paulo, waiting to meet up with an occupational therapist in a couple of hours. I have 2 days left in SP - but that is only because it was going to cost me 3000 USD to leave a day early and get out of this shit hole. Ok - a bit strong - but this will make more sense later.

Oh - this might ramble a bit too - my apologizes. My head is still spinning a bit from my time here.

Background: 50 years old white male. I told everyone I was 38 and no one questioned me. I normally don't lie about my age, but I did this time (somewhat to my regret), but I think it got me a lot of interest on Tinder and internet sites. My advice - if you can pull off shaving off a few years, and you are just looking for tail, I would do it.

I have several advanced degrees and a high 6 figure income. I don't usually through cash around, but I will go VIP when I think it is too my advantage. I was rolling solo most of my trip, and had set up dates, so I never had the chance to go VIP, except for VIP-light at Royal Club in SP (more on that later).

I know ZERO portuguese and enough spanish to go to Taco Bell. How did that play in Brazil? It sucked when it came to interacting with any stranger. The english ability in Brazil is almost non-existent except for the well educated or those in the tourist industry. This was a big problem at clubs. I had several clubs interested in me a couple of times at the clubs, but they spoke NO english. It was completely impossible to communicate and I just gave up.

SAFETY: ok - i read that Brazil could be a dangerous place. I never felt personally unsafe, I never went into dangerous areas. That being said, I was the victim of crime twice.

ATM CARD: When I got to Sao Paulo airport, I used to a bank ATM to withdraw cash. I used it one other time at a shopping mall. During one of those times, my ATM has cloned and my account drained of $4k. Fortunately, I got all the money back from my bank. MY ADVICE - if you use an ATM, only use it at a secure bank office with guards and security cameras around. Others have given the same advice before.

CELL PHONE STOLEN: Yesterday night, i went out for a late night bite, around 11 pm. As I was walking back to my hotel along Ave Paulista in Sao Paulo, I took out my cell phone to reply to a text from a girl. A guy on a bicycle grabbed my phone and was off. I was stupid I suppose but I was still really pissed. Fortunately, it was a backup phone I bought just for this trip, not my main phone that was in my safe. I am more mad at myself for being stupid and it really has added to my distaste of Brazil.

As an aside, for this backup phone, I had started a $40/mo service with T Mobile. This was giving me free texting to and from the USA, as well as free internet on my phone. The speed was not blazing, but was sufficient for traveling. True - I could have gotten a local SIM card, but I thoroughly enjoyed this feature of T mobile and plan to replace my "travel cell phone" and use T mobile in it for my future foreign travels.

Part 2 - the girls of Brazil.

Ok - don't beat me up. I only went to 2 cities - Rio and Sao Paulo. I will be honest, in the USA i do pretty well. I am educated and successful, and rarely date below an 8, almost always less than 30 years. When I get back I have an 19 year waiting for me. For me, I travel for culture. Quality is more important than quantity.

My opinion of Brazilian women in Rio and Sao Paulo? On average, probably one of the ugliest countries I have been too. Like butt ugly. Are there a hotties? Sure. But there are hotties in every country. I am talking about the average girl. I have dated several brazilan girls in the USA - and they blew away the brazilan girls I saw living in brazil. When you see an attractive girl, you notice them because of how bad the rest of the girls are.

I had the pleasure of going out with a girl in Rio who was pretty attractive. I would give her an 8.5. In the USA, she probably could have gotten some modeling work. 5'9", slender, just my type. For 30 minutes I heard her complain how it was impossible for her to find clothes in Brazil. She said the women are all short and fat. She was a size 0-2, nice B cups, a psychologist. She was one of the reasons I regretted lying about my age, i actually liked her and felt pretty guilty about lying when I don't think it would have made a difference to her.

Nonetheless, of all the top girls I met in Brazil, 98% were foreigners. I was in SP for fashion week, and almost all the girls at the show were foreigners.

I am sure many might disagree with me, but I think if you are a man of means, used to dating top tier, I see no special reason to go to Brazil just for the women. The quality just doesn't compare to CZ or Ukraine or a dozen other countries.

RIO - a few thoughts

I liked the landscape of Rio. The hills, the ocean and waves. It is pretty to look at - from a distance. I would recommend going to the top of Sugar Loaf mountain. Very good views of Rio, better in my opinion than Christ the Redeemer. I stayed at Best Western Ipanema - convenient since right across the beach. Good location but you can find cheaper if you need in the area.

Shenanigans Pub - Ipanema. Went there twice on a date. Nothing special, lots of groups. I didn't see a lot of women to scoop up - can't recommend.

Casa da Matriz - went on Wednesday for Indie Karaoke. By Indie they mean american. I walked in and everyone was singing Beth by Kiss. Other than that, very little talent. People were friendly so I got drunk and had fun. Cant recommend for talent on a Weds at least. There was a midget there - enough said.

Emporio - went on a Thursday. Super small dance floor - fits 8, literally. DJ was actually playing new wave 80s which i was digging but it was 4-1 guys to girls. The only talent was my date (the model material girl). One guy tried to white knight, gave me bad looks for making out like crazy with her on the dance floor, but he fucked off and walked away. Cant recommend for talent.

This is about all I remember. I was partying pretty hard and week is a little blurry.

ASIDE - Brazilian girls and the make out session. What you have read previously is true. A lot of brazilian girls with make out like crazy with you at a bar and club as if they were shaking hands, and then flake on you. In the USA, if a girl made out with me like a brazilan, she was a guaranteed lay. Not so here. They are not the greatest kissers, tend to be a bit sloopy and lack finesse. And several got a bit touchy when I grabbed their tits or butt, despite the fact that their tongue was tinkling my pylorus. Anyways - they are not just going to make out with anyone - just don't get too excited that their kisses will produce a happy ending.

Next up - Sao Paulo......

Restaurants (depending on cuisine and location) and club entrances can be expensive. I didn't find taxis to be cheap compared with other cities. I have paid over 100 per month for gym membership (Ipanema). It is true, Brazilian beer is cheap.

I agree that the talent in EE is higher than Brazil. However, I would not characterize Brazilian women as ugly. The women have a sensual vibe and a sexuality like no other culture.

Ohionukes...you are 50 and have a 19 yr old waiting for you in the US. You should write a thread just about that because what makes Colombia or Brazil good places, is that you can regularly bang young girls. I am in my late 30s...and a 19 yr old in the USA is a rare thing.
I was never impressed by Rio....with the quality of the girls, age or ease of bang.
But in general, Brazil is not worth it without portuguese. In Colombia or Ukraine, you could probably get away with not knowing the local languange and still have a decent time.

My week in Sao Paulo.....

I stayed at the Renaissance Hotel - very nice hotel, a block from Ave Paulista.

At first, I like SP. It has a NYC sort of feel, and I like NYC. Not as great as NYC, but as close of brazil can come. You don't have a high density of restaurants and other things though. Taxis are reasonable, considering the exchange rate. I only road the submit twice but it is relatively new and clean. There is a great online app to use the subway that is in english. Get ride tickets from the counters.

Ok - so I had my cell phone stolen from me last night, and Sao Paulo has lost its luster for me, but I will try to be objective with some details.

The women? Still crap. Like really poor. Like - god, please take me back to the FSU. Or Europe. Or the USA.

Ok - some intel.

SKYE BAR - at the top of the Unique Hotel. If the weather is good, there is a really cool view of the SP skyline. I really liked this place. The drinks are very tasty (30-40 reals). The pizza was excellent too. This is a high end place. Lots of business men or guys dressed sharp. Lots of pretty girls looking for a man of means. I think this is a good place to go, particularly with a wing. I was on a date with a corporate VP and killer tits, who drove 50 minutes just to meet me. I would recommend this place for either game or to impress a date. Happy hour on a thurs or friday might be a good time to go - just a guess.

O'MALLEYS- some gringos, but not exclusively. Saw several pairs of girls there who were looking for action. Ended up chatting with a couple of law students. I would recommend this place to find a decent looking girl who speaks english

REPUBLIC PUB - has live music playing rock and roll, which means girls more impressed with american status. Problem was that several of girls didn't not speak passable english. I think it is work going to to find someone who would be interested in a gringo.

ROYAL CLUB - went on a Tues for a Fashion Week party. At 11, literally 7-1 guys to girls. Later in the night it was 3-1. I met a Brazilian guy and we split a bottle of vodka by the DJ at a stand up table. It is not VIP, but it is no different than the USA - girls want free drinks. He was a good wingman, rounded up 3 decent girls. They were interested in talking to me but knew NO english. Epic fail. The DJ was good and I got pretty hammered. My lack of portugeuse killed me once again. There were some hotties there - but they were from the Fashion Show and not brazilan. Once again, still not impressed with the local talent. I can not recommend this place unless the ratios are much better on another night.

D.EDGE - went on a Saturday night. Good music. 1.5-1 guy to girl ratio. Not super impressed with the talent. I was on a date with a 28 year old. Massive make out session but no sex. She tells me she has only been with 2 guys. Not seen if it is true, could be, but I dont think I have the time or the patience to close that deal. Fun to hang out with, so I ended up going out with her a couple of more times just for the company. D.edge, as a night club, is not all that. The vegas clubs put it to shame. I like to go clubbing but don't feel like you missed out on anything if you don't go there.

Another bat time, another bat channel.........

^^ With all due respect...talent is pretty hot in Sampa. If you walked around Itaim Bibi and Jardins..wow. I stayed near Avenida Paulista my last trip though made the mistake of never walking through Jardins until my last day. Most of that time was spent partying, sightseeing in other neighborhoods via metro, or maybe running around Parque Ibirapuera...but just actually walking through Jardins south of Avenida Paulista was a goldmine of hotties...gotta check out the malls my next visit.

Friday night in SP........

So my Occupational Therapist flakes on me. I have been hitting Tinder pretty hard, with decent success, so I hit Tinder. As luck would have it, I start chatting with a 21 year student who speaks fluent english. We agree to meet for drinks at 11 pm. I actually take a taxi to her parents house, pick her up, and we head out for the night.

BRASSERIE DE ARTS - We stop here for drinks. Nice place for food and drinks, for the well off and pretty. Just lots of groups and couples - no single women. We enjoy a cocktail and plenty of conversation until 1230 when it starts to clear out.

DISCO - This a nightclub. Electronic music. There is a girl/dancer who sings with a lot of the songs, but she is pretty bad. She must be shagging the club's owner. The talent is actually decent, plenty of 7-8s, and lots of single women. 1-1 ratio of guys to girls. Again, I wasn't blown away by the women, but I thought this place is definitely a place I would consider if I was not on a date.

My date is everything you would look for when trying to score. She drank Budweiser, spoke fluent english, has been to the USA, and last bf was a foreigner. At around 330, she starts asking me what hotel I was staying in. I knew what that meant. We leave and go back to hotel where she stayed for the next 16 hours. Definitely a great way to end my trip.

Will I go back to Brazil? I will, but more for the country side, beach, and other natural wonders. If I spoke portuguese, maybe I would be more eager to return, but in terms of ROI for an older guy with means, I enjoy Ukraine much much more, without comparison.

I guess I just had a difference experience. My experience with brazilan women has not been that different than my experience with Colombian or Venezuela women. I like tall and slender, so the EE is more my speed.

One thing I have noticed is that many of the girls, at least the ones I spoke too, work a lot. They might work all day and then take english lessons at night. I tend to attract the more educated woman, but they were always busy. Even the ones who just had a job worked at least until 7 pm, had to go go home and get cleaned up before meeting me, which pushed the date until 10 pm many nights.

In Sao Paulo right now.

On the ground observation is that:
-the 'average' is quite poor compared to EE or even SEA. There are quite a few stunners, but also huge amount of fatties. The stunners have some of the amazing bodies i have seen (slim waist, round asses, nicely dressed, heels), and when they walk their asses move a lot (my type). This with the slim waist makes a perfect combo. Some of the stunners look European. I have been just walking around Avenida Paulista, so haven't ventured out to the suburbs or favelas, so mainly its the 'office worker' crowd.

-Femininity is still much appreciated in Brazil, even the average has deteriorated a lot in recent years.

-On the other hand, the ugly girls are really bad looking.

-Tourism here is not cheap. This is even now with the Real at 3:1 dollar. average hotel at a centrally located area would set u around R250-300. (The Hyatt is around R1500 a night). With the cost of living and traveling here so high, I would think Brazil only be a good place to find a quality LTR (not really a 'player' ground). I wouldn't come here for such high costs just to bang 5s and 6s. I would go to a cheaper country for that.

- No doubt, if you live here and got a decent job, it is highly likely you can land a quality 8 with a sweet smile, personality and who is wife material, but probably not from the 'upper classes' in SP as said previously in this thread.

Looking to meet some local Rvf members tomorrow night at the meeting.

^^ With all due respect...talent is pretty hot in Sampa. If you walked around Itaim Bibi and Jardins..wow. I stayed near Avenida Paulista my last trip though made the mistake of never walking through Jardins until my last day. How can one meet the high caliber girls in SP if you're a foreigner? Cracking the high end would be just be amazing but that would require huge investment in staying there.

MaleDefined, you have any plans to return to Rio anytime soon?

At the moment, no.

South America, and Brazil specifically is always an option for work, but at this point it looks like I'll be in Asia for quite awhile.

Short term trips don't seem likely either as there are no direct flights between Asia and SA.
