I now consider myself from SoCal because it's a culture that gets in your blood and you take it with you everywhere and anywhere and you're proud to claim it. I'm not talking about the asinine laws or gov't policies here, or the high-ass taxes fucking me over; I'm talking about driving down Pacific Coast Highway on a Saturday afternoon with the sun setting, a dime beside you, the top down and enjoying life. You can have your subways and crowded streets; I'll take ocean air and models with cocaine habits trying to become the next Charlize Theron.

If you're talking about normal women like 5s and 6s, then no you aren't competing with celebrities and big ballers. It's at the higher end that such people start factoring in. At the clubs such high end women frequent, you won't get past the door unless you are a somebody, ie celebrity, baller, well-connected. This all has a trickle down effect on the local culture when you have so many men with ostentatious wealth out there flaunting it. It turns women's hypergamy into overdrive and raises the bar of competition for men in general. If you live in a place like St. Louis or Nashville and drive a new F-150 truck and have an average paying job, you're respected. In LA the same guy would be a nobody.

I generally don't. Let's remember why this thread was created. It was to explain why a disproportionate amount of posters hail from CA(L.A. in particular though). It's generally tougher because of tough logistics, early closing times, poor ratios and a high-level male competition. That's why so many of the top players come from here.

This has been for years. My father told me, that back in the 1980s, it was just as difficult to get women in LA, especially for Mexican immigrants. Back then, even the Mexican-Americans were difficult to get for Mexican immigrants (things have changed a bit now), and the only ones who were open were a bunch of spinsters.

What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. The sad fact is that most guys drop off. The competition is too stiff.

Even I've had to step up. Hitting the gym way harder (dudes here in LA are bigger than almost anywhere), started suiting up, and push harder for lays.

I would say my "game" has improved. You become much sharper, because if you have more than 1-2 minor slip-ups, the girl is gone.

After spending about 6-months back in LA, I went to Asia (Taipei, Bangkok, and Chiang Mai) and absolutely massacred it.
