Barely four hours after the explosions and people are already bickering over whether the TSA is useful or construction workers are more important than firefighters.

Personally I want to know who did this, and why. There seems to be so little to gain from hurting runners and spectators, some of whom are children. Boston's a tough city, and we will be fine, but I am sure I am not the only person in Boston who is confused about the rationale behind today's events.

You're right Poly. I'm offended by this bickering. TSA4LIFE

Thats exactly why. Look at what has happened so far. Hysteria over anything that looks suspicious, chaos and confusion, no one knows why it was done, the fear that something like this could happen any time any where etc.

As humans our greatest fear is the unknown.

This has to be, historically the worst week in US history--

4/15 -- Boston Marathon gets bombed.

4/16/07 -- Seung-Hui Cho goes on a shooting rampage, killing 32 people at V tech.

4/19/95 -- Timothy McVeigh blows up the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, OK. 168 people dead, hundreds injured.

4/20/99 -- Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold kill 15 (including themselves), and injure 21 at Columbine High School.

Crazy coincidence--though I wouldn't be opposed to seeing heightened security during this week.

How many of you would bet that the bomber doesn't get laid much?

UM Coach: Bomb Sniffing Dogs Were at Start, Finish Lines for “Drill”

Quote:Quote:

University of Mobile’s Cross Country Coach, who was near the finish line of the Boston Marathon when a series of explosions went off, said he thought it was odd there were bomb sniffing dogs at the start and finish lines.

“They kept making announcements on the loud speaker that it was just a drill and there was nothing to worry about,” Coach Ali Stevenson told Local 15. “It seemed like there was some sort of threat, but they kept telling us it was just a drill.”

Stevenson had just finished the marathon. His wife had been sitting in one of the seating sections where an explosion went off, but thankfully she left her seat and was walking to meet up with him.

“There was just smoke, another explosion went off,” Stevenson said. “We all started running. There were people crying.”

Stevenson said there was no question in his mind that this was an intentional act.

Local 15 News is talking with more locals who were taking part in the run. Tune in for live coverage beginning at 5 p.m.

The story has been chopped down. Consume all the news you can now, as once the MSM decides on a narrative they will flush out all the small affiliates.

Bombs go off every day across the middle east: No one gives a shit.
One bomb goes off in the US: The world stops turning in shock.

I feel bad for those who got killed, but not any more than anyone else out there.

Today was a bad day over there too:

Bombings in Iraq kill more than 30 people

Like the same didn't happen when those bombs went off in the London buses.

No one gives a shit if we kill over 100,000 civilians for a pointless war.

It's the Americans HERE, in America, group mentality.

Pride, being part of a pack.

No one actually cares if someone dies as long as they don't visualize it.

Sad.

It's simple : It's too much outside the norm. Did you hear about that one shooting and the bombing in Medellin? No, because shootings happen every day and bombings every week. If bombs were to detonate every week in the US, eventually the world's media would stop looking at it as a shiny new toy.

War on foreign land is just television.

War in your front yard is war.

No one cares until they see blood on their own clothes.

Pretty sure this is homegrown to to take attention away from north korea. Today was kim jong's anniversary date. NK was building up hype for today to launch a new long range missile. So much for that.. I haven't seen NK in the news at all in the last few hours.

Each and everyday the U.S is becoming less safe and more controlled, the greatest country on Earth going down right in front of our eyes.

I'm sorry but no. This country is orders of magnitude safer than it was 10, 20, or 30 years ago. Violent crime is down significantly in all major cities. How many children are being abducted into white vans today? Virtually none. 2 or 3 terrorist attacks in a decade won't change this. What does change the perception of safety is the hysterical reactions we have, and are constantly bombarded with. The truth is, absent a 1984 type existence, we can never prevent an isolated, sporadic incident like this.

I live in Boston, and the Marathon is a great event, the only day long, outdoor party of the year essentially. You can kiss that goodbye. Why? Because we want to be "SAFE." You know what I think the best reaction would be to this...Ignore it. Pay your respects mentally, and go on as though it never happened. Make absolutely no adjustments to your life or anyone else's. These attacks are the cost of doing business, like tolls on the highway, getting the flu or getting a parking ticket. You can't get rid of them, and shouldn't waste any energy trying to.

The blast happened 1 block away from my office building, shook the building, we were evacuated.

Blood on the streets. I hope that the subhumans who did this are caught and hung. There were families and kids there, man. limbs torn off.

My thoughts and prayers to the injured, the Marathoners from ALL OVER THE WORLD, and most of all my Bostonians.

To all my Boston poeples: Stay Safe and watch your backs.
