The really annoying thing about this is how it will be reported when it turns out the ho is lying, it will just drop off the face of the earth. We won't talk about "believe women" or how there are so many female predators seeking out relationships with rich/famous/high powered men only to extort them.

Also good for him for not paying the shakedown. 68K is pocket lint to him but seeing a woman get money for this shit would be sickening.

Update:

Quote:Quote:

Eight months after a 29-year-old woman said NBA star Kristaps Porzingis raped her inside his apartment, she contacted the New York Knicks' legal department to seek to "mediate in private" a payment of $68,000, according to emails obtained by ESPN.

At the time of the woman's documented communication with the Knicks' legal staff -- late October through early November -- no criminal complaint had been filed with New York police. The Knicks eventually referred the woman to Porzingis' personal legal representation.

ESPN obtained a series of text messages between the woman and Porzingis, as well as emails between her and the Knicks. The texts and emails portray a woman who wanted to pursue a romantic relationship with Porzingis in the aftermath of the alleged assault in February 2018, but who also wanted him to honor what she says was his commitment to contribute $68,000 to a college fund for her brother.

According to the emails, the woman, who lived in the same apartment building as Porzingis, told the Knicks that she went to Porzingis' apartment to get his autograph in the late-night hours after Porzingis suffered a serious knee injury at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 6, 2018. After what the woman told the Knicks was an "extremely aggressive encounter," she said Porzingis agreed to co-sign a statement with her that promised his payment of $68,000.

Porzingis' attorney, Roland G. Riopelle, said in a statement to ESPN he believes the document is "a forgery."

Attempts to reach the attorney for the woman were unsuccessful.

Riopelle told ESPN on Monday that he has been contacted by the New York County District Attorney's office about the sexual assault allegations and plans to fully cooperate with the investigation.

A woman filed a complaint against Porzingis stemming from the alleged encounter in his apartment in February 2018. Riopelle contacted federal authorities in December, alleging that the woman was trying to extort money from Porzingis.

"We have been contacted by the district attorney's office, and we are cooperating fully with their investigation," Riopelle told ESPN through a spokesman. "We have agreed to provide the district attorney's office with the materials that we previously provided to the federal authorities in support of our extortion complaint. We are confident that, after the district attorney reviews these materials, they will recognize that the complaint made in this case is completely meritless."

Porzingis, 23, was traded to the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 31, but he has not played this season as he continues to rehab a torn left ACL.

The Knicks declined to comment Sunday.

The woman's correspondence with the Knicks' legal staff came in the aftermath of text message communication between her and Porzingis. Texts sent in the weeks following the alleged assault included the woman asking to spend intimate time with Porzingis. Some of those messages included the woman sending explicit photos of herself.

It is unclear if Porzingis and the woman had any sexual encounters after the alleged assault, or how much additional text correspondence there was between the two. In the texts reviewed by ESPN, the woman appeared to become increasingly frustrated that Porzingis was friendly when they crossed paths in their apartment building, but remained far less responsive via text communication.

After asking the Knicks in October to help her get the $68,000 from Porzingis, the woman emailed the Knicks a series of text messages that included Porzingis' invitation to visit his apartment the night of the alleged assault. Porzingis told her that he was "drunk," according to the texts. The woman agreed to come to his apartment, responding: "I'm not fancy at all. I'm in flip-flops and a night dress. I'm basic. ..."

In the handwritten letter that she described as a contractual agreement with Porzingis for payment of $68,000 -- a copy of which was obtained by ESPN -- Porzingis' name is misspelled and it is unclear whether the signature belongs to him.

In the alleged agreement, the woman wrote: "This agreement effective February 7, 2018, acknowledges the fact that an unexpected escalated sexual intercourse due to an inevitable physical attraction on the part of Kristap (sic) occurred subsequently, warrants compensation payable towards (the woman's) siblings college tuition in the amount of $68,000. ...

" ... Mr. Kristap (sic) willingly offered several compensations to (the woman) including business investments. (The woman) ultimately settled with Mr. Kristap's (sic) offer of a $68,000 check."

In a statement to ESPN on Sunday, Riopelle said: "Mr. Porzingis denies signing the alleged contract, which we believe is a forgery. When asked to produce the original contract for handwriting analysis, the complainant declined to do so."

In her correspondence with the Knicks, the woman included a photograph that she said showed hair loss and broken nose cartilage "from when he repeatedly hit me." Several days after the alleged encounter, the woman wrote that she had to pay "about $10,000" for corrective surgery.

In an Oct. 30, 2018, email to the Knicks, the woman wrote: "After the extremely aggressive encounter, he was very apologetic, loving and caring ... hence, the offer he made to pay my (little) bro's tuition + more. ... Although how he treated me was horrendous, as a Knicks fan, I do not want him to get him in any trouble with the law. I stayed back and enjoyed the rest of the time I spent with him. It's crucial to note the fun times I had with him doesn't negate the fact that he offered to compensate me as a soothing gift even though I didn't ask him to."

The woman said she stayed with Porzingis until 11 a.m. the day after the alleged assault.

Besides the $68,000 payment, the woman also wanted the Knicks to assist in the return of a pair of sandals she termed her "favorite Jordan gray and orange slides." She also had texted Porzingis for the return of the shoes, and he acknowledged she left them in his apartment.

In an email sent to Porzingis' legal team also dated Oct. 30, 2018 -- based on the Knicks' initial phone conversation with the woman -- Jamaal Lesane, the Knicks' vice president of legal affairs, described the woman's side of the story this way: "She went up to Porzingis' apartment with a notebook to get his autograph. Once she was inside Porzingis' apartment, 'Porzingis had his way with me without my consent.' Later, Porzingis offered her money 'when he knew was wrong.' Porzingis offered to pay the tuition for [the woman's] brother's education in the amount of $68,000."

In an email, the woman asked the Knicks' legal team to keep the information between her and the organization. She concluded, "I will litigate this matter if the Knicks legal team fails to properly mediate in private."

The Knicks appeared to end communication with the woman in early November. In an email dated Nov. 6, the Knicks' legal staff informed the woman that Porzingis had "decided to retain counsel to represent him and they will be in touch with you shortly. The New York Knicks will not have any further involvement on Kristaps' behalf."

Who do yall got for MVP, Giannis or Harden?

Harden has been putting up some absurd numbers with 36 points per game, but Giannis is to me by far the more exciting player to watch. I think either team Rockets or Bucks would be lottery teams without their respective stars.

My vote is for Giannis, but I'm not sure if either player has peaked yet. I dont think anyone actually thought Harden would get better from last year but he keeps improving ever year.

Jokic should be. Him and Embiid are the best centers in the league and the butt nuggets wouldn't be anywhere close to where they are right now without him. Harden probably wins it though.

Cant really blame porzingis for all that. He is likely dealing with an extreme psychopath scam opportunist. He went from a young athlete to an overnight superstar in the worlds largest economy. And in New York the crazy is everywhere. I give credit to him to have the wits to come forward and give all the embarrassing details of the relationship to the NBA and federal investigators instead of giving up his cash.

Harden.

Too good offensively: Value over Replacement Player, Win Shares, Box Plus/Minus, Total Points.

Other than GT and Harden: Rudy Gobert is the most underrated, top 5 NBA Player this year, easily DPOY.

I covered this above.

The NBA MVP isn’t like the heisman (subjective) or the MLB MVP (determined by stats). 90% of the time, something like 36 times in the last 40 years, it goes to the featured scorer on one of the three teams with the best overall record. Here’s the thing: in the years when the MVP goes to somebody else, it looks like a mistake in hindsight (Russel Westbrook, Steve Nash).

By those criteria, the award should go to Giannis or to Somebody on Golden State.

0% chance it goes to anyone on the Warriors. Not with both Durant and Curry on the team. If they lose one, then the other might get it.

MVP is Giannis or Harden. It isn't a debate about other candidates; deciding between the two mentioned is difficult as is. Nobody in GS is worthy of MVP. Stephen and Kevin get votes, just because you have to round out the ballot, but that is about it

Embiid questionable for Game 1. Without their top 5 guy, sixers are a 38-42 win team.

Giannis is the best player on the team with the best record. And he has a much greater impact on defense. Harden's having a historic season offensively but I don't see how he wins it over Giannis.

Questionable trades during the season. Might not even be better than last season. Sixers fan here. Even with Embiid, they're not going past round 2.

As a NYC resident I am pissed that the bricks traded Porzingis. Even if they win the first pick in the lottery, and get Zion Williamson, and get a mvp player like Kevin Durant, they are still probably a player away. Maybe they pick up 2 top free agents in the off season, draft Zion, and contend in 2019-2020?

That isn't exactly working out for the Lakers, they are still a player or 2 away with Lebron.

To be fair, there are girls out there who would make the guys try harder in a half court game. Those girls not only sucked, they looked defeated from the start and weren't even trying.

I'm happy this happened for various reasons...

- Dame is chronically underrated in the league even though he is the best point guard in the league after Steph Curry (Kyrie and CP get all the hype but Dame's numbers have always been better).

- Portland's team has shared some characteristics to the Raptors over the years

- Portland could be sneaky and make a run and get to the conference finals which would be good to see

---

- Westbrook was exposed here for all the world to see. Now everyone can see clearly that he is nothing more than a chucker who stat pads and continually shoots his team out of games.

- Westbrook jacked up 30 shots and made 11 of then, sucking air out of his team that was shooting amazing and was mounting a heavy run on Portland.

- Westbrook for three strait years hasn't done shit.

- OKC has burned thier window. At once point they had KD, Harden, Westbrook all on a roster. This trio could have been a dynasty.

- OKC made the mistake of picking Westbrook when he was the most volatile of the 3 mentioned above. The cold truth was that they should have traded Westbrook and kept KD and Harden together.

- OKC now has a broken roster with bloated contracts and will need to rebuild.

---

Last night was almost poetry as Dame made it personal to send OKC and their sorry asses home.

Dame is underrated by the average fan no doubt. After this year, though, he will have 4 all nba appearances: a 1st, 2 2nds, and a third. That's legit for 7 seasons and he is on a hall of fame trajectory based on that.

Sixers are my team and Embiid my favorite player. But I'm expecting them to lose in 6 if not 5. Leonard is going to rip them up and if Embiid can't play a game or two or tweaks his knee, the Sixers are done. I would like to see the Sixers put Simmons on Leonard and see what happens.

I know it doesn’t look like they were trying but they most likely were. These girls know they couldn’t get physical with them so they to leave Aalto of room and hope they took jump shots.

I'm based as a Raptors fan, I expect us to match your well and out the clamp down on the Sixers. The only wikd card is that Butler has fucked us historically in the past, especially in Toronto. Butler can squeeze out a win on his own if he is feeling it. I expect the series to go 6 games for the Raps.

The scary thing is the Raps are just starting to flow and click now. Some people think we have another gear not yet hit as we started only hitting our stride in the last two games. What will fuck the Sixers is that they have no bench and Coach Nurse has no problem staggering our starters minutes to rough house a bench. We did this the last two games to keep Orlando out of it. Sixers lack of depth may come back to bite them.

The Sixers would be much better with just Embiid (or just Simmons if you're a fan of his). The team has a high ceiling but has flaws that leave it ripe for exploit if they hit a team that matches up well with them. For the Sixers all the top teams in the East (Boston, Bucks, Raptors) have cracked thier flaws.

I'd like to hear your opinion to trade Simmons now while he is still a unicorn and rob a team of picks and a player.

Trade him to the lakers or knicks?

I guess it depends what the other team is offering. Why not just keep him long term? Simmons is young and very good already, he will only make 6 million dollars next year in his final year of his rookie contract, he then becomes a restricted free agent and will get a max deal when his rookie contract expires, and is one of a handful of players totally worth a max deal right now.

If you are advocating the Sixers trading Ben Simmons, I find it hard to believe you are a Sixers fan, if they keep their core together the next 5-10 years, they will be making playoff runs every year and likely could pull off at least one championship.

Edit, ok you are a raptors fan saying the Sixers should trade Simmons now.

The only trade that might make some sense is if whoever gets the first overall pick trades straight up Zion for Simmons.

But that makes little sense for the team trading Zion, it would be a better value to just keep him for 3 years on the rookie contract and use their cap money to fill holes.
