Raps make trade for 34 year old big man Marc Gasol.

They gave up a lot, they are obviously looking to win this year or bust - when Kawhi leaves us.

And whats with these commentators, chick host, 2 ex nba alpha brothas, and some high pitch voice dork white guy with a hankerchief.

Pistol Pete, Jerry West, and Wilt Chamberlain are the 3 guys I would love to see time travel into today's NBA. All three would be unstoppable.

Chamberlain unquestionably. From what I understand, modern athletes are larger, quicker, stronger, and with more science behind their training, and it would be interesting to see if the other two would get shut down today by these factors, or would find a way to win.

The raptors are good this year, probably need an injury or 2 on the warriors though

I don't think that's true. I think they leveled off late 90s/early 2000s on speed, strength and size but the science is more for holding onto those factors and lengthening careers and recovering from injuries quicker.

I think with the rule changes for less physical basketball and if anything players lack a lot of fundamentals and sports intelligence than they used to. Pistol Pete and Jerry West would be fine. Think about how even Steven Nash would be a lot better right now and he didn't even play long ago.

They didn't give up much....

CJ miles is literally just a body, has played like trash all year long with reduced minutes. Nobody going to miss him.

Delon Wright is our third string PG, who is up for a new contract and we weren't going to pay him what he wants.

JV is one of my favorite Raps ever, and if you view the trade as JV&pick for Gasol it is an upgrade. JV is good but Gasol does EVERYTHING JV does at a higher level with more intangibles such as better passing and better ball IQ. Gasol can be counted in in a deep playoff series to produce for you.

Raptors easily won the trade. I expect Gasol to play more motivated with the potential of getting a ring. Big Spanish community in Toronto will also take care of him.

One thing also is that the NBA is an old man league and the teams who won championships are generally always the oldest rosters. Raptors trading for a hard knock veteran is what we need. Gasol knows how to win and in tandem with Kawai, Green, Lowry, and Ibaka that is a starting lineup that all have at minimum, conference final experience or better. Out of the top 4 teams in the East we have the most collective experience amongst our starters; this will come up huge.

Raptors now needs depth as we dumped Monroe as well. If we can get a scorer and a PG of the waiver wire then we are fine.

What would take the forum to the next level?

The ability to like your own posts.

No one believes me, but giving yourself a standing ovation for your own post is extremely gratifying behavior.

I'm worried Built to Fade could get stuck in an infinite loop if given this power. Like dividing by zero for all eternity.

I must agree with debeguguiled.

I'm new to the forum and I find it a little boring how you cannot like your own comment...

But how about Derrick Rose not making it to the All Star roster. Disappointed.

Ja Rule taking heat on social media after NBA halftime show

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26070...-half-show

Quote:Quote:

MILWAUKEE -- Rapper Ja Rule is taking heat on social media after problems with his halftime show during Saturday's Timberwolves-Bucks game.

Videos posted online show Ja Rule had sound problems at the beginning of his performance. At one point he said, "Are we ready?" then said, "I guess not," before his music eventually started.

Another video shows Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo taking warm-up shots while Ja Rule was still performing.

Ja Rule responded to critics on Twitter, saying his sound "didn't come on when it was supposed to" but he "rocked." When the Timberwolves' official Twitter account mocked Ja Rule, he responded by cursing the team:

Quote:

Ja Rule has been the subject of ridicule for his role in the failed Fyre Festival in the Bahamas. He recently told TMZ that he plans to create another music festival.

It's everything I hoped it would be, and more.

I will call it now,

Golden State vs Raptors

Raptors in seven games. Raptors will make history. There bench looks really solid with the addition of Lin and Gasol.

The only thing holding the Raptors back is their Euro coach "Nurse", he keeps messing with the lineup. He needs to match Lin with Gasol.

I think letting JV, go will hurt. Gasol looks really slow, but he can get the job done.

Assuming no injuries, I still think the Rockets have the best chance at beating the Warriors. The Raptors would beat the Rockets though, but I dont see them beating the Warriors.

If the Nuggets can secure home court for the western conference final I think they have a decent chance at making the championship.
Only 1 win behind and just getting their full team together for the first time this season.

Looks like Porzingis is the latest target of a shakedown.

The woman told police on Thursday about the alleged attack, according to the Post report, which cited law enforcement sources. The woman reportedly told police she waited more than a year to come forward because she had discussed getting $68,000 from Porzingis to keep quiet.

You would think these chicks would try to be less obvious about these schemes, but no.

Trying to wrap my head around this Kristaps story.

First off, she claimed she got raped a few hours after he tore his ACL. Dunno how you can get raped by someone who is unable to walk, but whatever.

But the girl lived in the Sky Building in Manhattan. A studio there goes for 4k a month, and a small 2br goes for 7k a month. Melo built a gym in there and was paying 13.5k a month for it.

And she tried to extort him for 68k? I'm not understanding the logic, in that if she can afford to live in a building like that, why would she jeopardize her future employments and get shit on in social media for a paltry 68k.

I'm guessing she figured it was a low enough amount that he'd just pay it to not have his name smeared in the paper. And given he'll be making the max next year, it's kind of surprising he didn't, also considering all his endorsements that are now at risk.

The problem with black mail: first they ask for 60k to keep quiet, if they pay then they ask for 100k to keep quiet, then 300k etc

I told you she was just in it for the money

Here's what we know:

February 7, 2018: Alleged incident took place.

December 20, 2018: Porzingis reports her to the FBI for extortion, informs NBA.

March 28, 2019: Nigerian thot goes to the police and makes rape accusation

Sounds legit.

What's more:

Quote:Quote:

The investigation is being handled by the NYPD’s Special Victims Division.

An NYPD source familiar with the investigation told DailyMail.com: 'It’s a ridiculous accusation without any merit.'

When asked if police believe her, the source said: 'Maybe her mother believes her but no one else does.'

The source said that Porzingis and the women 'had a consensual sexual ongoing relationship.'

'I’m not sure how long it was going on but it continued well after her alleged incident which is a huge red flag,' the source said.
