Has anyone ever read a woman's romance/sex novel?

Obviously not for entertainment, but just to get into the psychology of what pushes women's buttons at the deep level. I wonder if there's any value to be extracted from that?
I feel like I should read one just for the hell of it even though I'd have a hard time getting through one.

I've read quite a few Eric Jerome Dickey. He gets progressively worse for me but he should be an insight. My ex's sister gave me one of his novels called 'Pleasure' to read. It was stacked with lesbianism and raunchy fcuking.

Stuck in a snowstorm now, so I started reading one. Just to understand their psychology behind it all. Has anyone noticed that all the erotic novels start off either with the "billionaire w/ a yacht model" adventure or it turns to be a vampire story. Or a combination of the two. Difficult to continue flipping the pages if it wasn't out of curiosity.

I read 50 Shades of Grey. Considering how deeply it tapped into the psyche of American women, it's worth a look.
If you want to get the most out it (game-wise, of course) here's my suggestion: Study the female fantasy the author creates, and figure out how you can create the same fantasy for women you meet in your life.
Be warned though, I was blown away by how terrible it was. I was expecting bad writing. I was expecting very bad writing. But really, there is nothing I can say that will prepare you for the onslaught to your mind and senses.

An ex was into a small sub genre that featured men in kilts on the front cover and took place in ye olde Scotland. They all seemed to have a beautiful but wild heroine who needed to be tamed by some dude from a rival clan. She pretended to hate him but really wanted him. Some real crapola.

If you want a taste of some kinky girl porn without laying down some cash, I have a few PDF novels that an RP sub (yeah, yeah, I know) sent me once. I read one and the writing wasn't painful.

I know Madame Bovary is supposed to be one of the classics into female psychology of that genre. I picked up the book and couldn't force myself to read more than 2 pages...I might try again to see if it's actually got any worthwhile content.

My mother and wife read romance novels, I've read a few out of curiousity over the years. One author in particular I was able to stomach...
Susan Elizabeth Philips. Her husband was a coach for an NFL team, and so her romance stories are always within the context of football. The first novel of hers that I can remember reading is "Match me if you can." It came out after "catch me if you can" with Leonardo Decaprio and so I read it because of the title and was pleasantly surprised.

I spent the past couple nights reading 50 Shades.
Epically bad writing, weak plot, shallow characters.
I guess I can see why broads like it.

50 shades is without a doubt the worst book I have ever tried to read.
Was skimming through it the other night, and read the following,
"I'm not going to touch you...until I have your written consent to do so"
I threw the book across the room.
If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.
