DC Happy Hour Game

For those of you with the misfortune of living in DC like yours truly, where do you go to game women during the workweek (Mon - Thurs)?

I now have a flexible 4-8/9pm time block which I prefer to use for hunting purposes. Allowing a day to pass without making an approach means another day where you missed a chance for a potential notch.

DC being an uptight, career-oriented city, few places are teeming with women during the workweek.

That said, there may be a few relatively good places to prowl: hotel bars (i.e. The W), college bars, and select venues in neighborhoods like U St.

I did some recon today and it seems that the 4-6pm time block is too early. 6:30 is a good start time.

There's websites like http://www.dchappyhours.com but that only tells you which bars/restos have happy hour specials on a given day, not where there may be women.

Anyone have empirical "boots on the ground" intel? Feel free to PM me if you prefer, but wanted to make this thread public since there's so many RVF folks in DC who could benefit from this as well.

Here are a few places that I've been at happy hour time and noticed a very favorable ratio:

Estadio, on 14th
Ping Pong Dim Sum, downtown
Lincoln, just off Thomas Circle
Founding Farmers, on Pennsylvania Ave
The Hamilton, new place downtown (not an incredible ratio, but a lot of people)

Basically, women seem to flock to the restaurants over the bars for happy hour. The down side is that women are often there as part of work groups or with their friends to complain about how there's no men in DC. Although, Hen, after seeing you hold court with four women for a pretty decent amount of time at the Brixton, I would think you would do quite well at happy hour.

I also have heard Hamilton mentioned. It sometimes gets huge parties coming in with decent women, but these are often for planned events. However, it's possible that the group girls can be picked off (this is only a theory). I work near there, so if you stop by there, let me know.

I did The Hamilton once for happy hour but it was a miss that day. I might have to go back. I like the location since it's also right near the W. Can check out both.

You're right about the restaurant thing. I actually noticed that today. I'm more interested in "standup" environments as opposed to sit down ones, especially since I may be alone for a lot of these missions.

Thanks.

Cuba Libre and Zaytinya on 9th St. are also worth a look.
I agree that the W and Estadio are good locations.

Also..try Four Seasons in Georgetown if you like gold diggers and cougars.

I saw A-Rod there once.

What do you guys think about Clarendon in Arlington, VA? Lots of nice looking girls walking around but the vibe is a lot more yuppie and uptight compared to DC.

Never had luck in Arlington myself.

My crew and I used to do Arlington a lot. Yeah there are a lot of hot young white chicks but the attitude is much more uptight than even their feminist sisters across the river. Don't want to give all my spots away but there are some good happy hours in Dupont, AdMo, and U St.

Arlington is tailored to the "post college greek life crowd", with bars like Clarendon Grill, Mr. Days, Whitlows, etc. Not saying it's impossible to pull there, but if you're style is more aligned with what you see at the W then you will be out of place. That being said, I've done very well at Liberty Tavern because the crowd is more diverse, and their happy hour specials are good (the food is on point; I know the exec chef's work).

I enjoy One Lounge in DuPont--a nice balance between lounge and stand up space. Happy hours can be hit or miss from what I remember, but the ratio wasn't bad for DC standards.

I second the Zaytinya suggestion. There's a bartender there that looks exactly like Roosh; he's also of Turkish descent.

The Passenger in Shaw is underrated--it brings in a mix of people and I believe opens at 5. Your best bet is to hit it up near 7-8 because you will get the best mix of different people...so not happy hour times, per se, but a bar worth checking out. There is more stand up space there, and the drinks are good (the bar is owned by Derek Brown and his brother...Derek Brown is the leading mixologist/top bar tender in DC and his speakeasy called the "Columbia Room" is a hot ticket.)

I know of another bar opening up in Shaw very soon...more blue collar esque though...all this info is coming from cooking in the city. I'll see what else comes to mind.

Guys, I personally think Arlington (Clarendon) has way too many hot chicks to be ignored. The concentration of high quality looking (mostly white) girls has to rank up there with any place I can think of. I think the bars around there are as La Famila described (UVA preppy style), but one area with serious possibility is day/street game. I can't think of a more worthwhile and logistically sound location in the DC area to apply day game than Clarendon. You've got bookstores like Barnes and Noble, an Apple Store, tons of places to eat, yoga studios/gyms, boutique stores, grocery stores like Trader Joe's and Whole Foods, as well as coffeeshops, both Starbucks and indie ones. Not to mention the steady and consistent supply of good looking approach targets. It's also pedestrian-friendly and metro accessible. You do not need a car when exploring this neighborhood.

I can't imagine many, if any, dudes are actively running game there. I'm going to hit that up this weekend. That work week stress will have evaporated. Girls should be more relaxed. No matter how uptight chicks may seem, you have to operate under the principle that girls everywhere need the D.

For night venues, I think DC is the move. More neighborhoods, more interesting and diverse venues as well.

I dunno, feels like they stay uptight in Clarendon. You're doing that work though, so I wish you the best of luck.

Anyhow, I reckon you'd do well to try hitting Northside Social, Trader Joe's, and, if you're there early enough (and it's still going on this late) the farmer's market just north in Courthouse. Oh yeah, and if the weather is nice, you can catch groups of chicks patio drinking in the mid-to-late afternoon at La Tosca(?) across from Whitlow's.

Daytime I agree. Night time...that place can turn to even more of a sausagefest then DC. I live relatively close to there.

I've had success with the 5-6 hour, M-Th, mostly window shopping 5:30-7:30. Had a solid first date tonight with a 24yo I met at a downtown clothing store at 6pm. I'm not sure about 4-5, but even if if might be slow, you can be confident that the women out won't be career-obsessed 8-6 workers.

Checked out The Hamilton last night. Wasn't a fan. Showed up around 7:30 so maybe that's why it sucked but before I went during Happy hour and it was the same shit. Older, dressed up, career oriented crowd. Didn't see any targets and it seemed like the people who were socializing already knew each other. Why do people talk this place up? Has anyone pulled from here? I didn't spot any cute chicks.

Chinatown seems to have some good venues. Will have to hit that up during primetime going out days/hours.

As for Clarendon, may seem uptight but you really can't call it until you've actually tried to game there. Daygame is probably uncharted territory here.

Living in Clarendon, I feel qualified to say if you're into white girls who still act like they're in college (some of them are), then it's a gold mine. Just be ready for all the fun that large groups of young, white, American women being with them.

Me, I prefer DC nightlife. Normally do a circle from U Street to Georgetown and back, hitting up the quality places (few that I've found). Keep in mind DC is highly quality relative, compared to nicer cities.

There's also a 1/2 chance you'll find me at Russia House on any given evening. Expensive and snobby, sure, but you can occasionally land a EE flag (golddiggers, mostly). Plus I know all the staff and love the vodka selection.

Happy hunting.

GWU campus in Foggy Bottom has bountiful talent during the day if you get a chance to skip work. I'm waiting for my next chance since last time I was there I couldn't hang out and I'm only recently single. Attractive and young rich college girls everywhere there. I wish I could go back to uni and attend GWU... alas now I have joined the workforce..

PS the foggy bottom whole foods is also hands down the best supermarket ever for finding hot girls

Redstar,
Largely agree-just be careful-some of those girls are not rich, but loaded up with toxic amounts of student debt.
Doesn't matter for a pump-and-dump, just don't get too starry-eyed too quickly.

hahah you're not kidding redstar; I was just there this morning on my way to work, admiring the talent at 9:30 in the morning. Perfect day gaming environment. The girl I banged last Friday lives right above that Whole Foods too. It's definitely white, rich, attractive college chicks ready for some serious D.

A few months ago I was walking by the IMF building, which is a few blocks from GWU, and a saw a couple of hookers. I thought it was weird because it was around 6pm, an odd hour for hookers. Then I got a little closer and realized they were actually GW students looking for a cab.

By the way, one thing I've noticed walking through the GW area is that all the male students seem mad gay. If not actually homosex, a good number of them are mad effeminate.

I've lived in this section of Arlington for almost two years now and learned alot from the crowds and my own friends.

Clarendon is a massive sausagefest because the local dudes are one or more of the following: too lazy to dress up for DC, too cheap to pay for a cab to DC, or they got too drunk at home and lost the motivation to follow through with their plans for DC. It is also thee place to move after you graduated from one of the local colleges (VA Tech, UMD, JMU, etc.) so many people head out to bars like Clarendon Grill with their little mixed-sex social group of couples and old college buddies. Clarendon becomes less of a bar scene and more of a place for lazy social circles to hang out and take photos so they can appear like they are still fun, exciting people on facebook.

However, if you go out with lazer focus and the balls to interact with mixed sets, girls will respond. I have two VERY sexy female friends in my own lazy social group that are single and always wonder why they never get approached. One is an 8+ and complains that she hasn't gotten laid in months, but always wants to come out with the boys. When you're a single chick surrounded by 6 guys friends, 99% of dudes aren't going to come say hi. Be that 1%. and you can do serious work. One time, my friend pulled a chick to our after-party and she brought a guy friend. He knowningly escorted her; he chilled and drank in the living room with us while my friend fucked the girl (very loudly) in the basement. He's one of my best wingmen now [Image: lol.gif]

Also, for people just outside of Arlington (Vienna, Fairfax county), Clarendon is a big night out on the town for single chicks. They are often DTF, but it does make it more logistically difficult because they have to drive 20 mins+ to get home and they don't want to get stranded from their girls.

I love daygaming at the Barnes and Noble there. There are a couple cafes where you could do some damage also. Definitely a daygaming hotspot.

In summary, drinking establishments here are tough at all times because of the huge social circle culture and packs of lazy, drunken male losers destroying all of the ratios. Stay focused on the task at hand and try your best to ignore the sea of dudes. Or, just wait until Sunday afternoon and creep on the streets.

Finally gave Clarendon a thorough look. Hung out with Rakishness on Friday. As others have pointed out, Clarendon bars are mostly social circle gatherings of the college variety and a complete sausage fest. I will never return to Clarendon at night. After checking out a few bars, Rakishness and I cabbed it to DC, checked out another spot that also happened to be a sausage fest, and left. Saw a blonde girl on the street who looked at me and smiled (IOI) so I immediately approached. Got her to come with me and Rakishness to a bar next door. We danced and then I left with her to 1) Try to get to her place which was a short walk from the venue. When that didn't work - if I had U St. logistics it would have - I went to another venue. Bumped into Roosh and VK along the way as they hopped out of a cab. Funny as hell catching up.

Got her to another venue and had some more drinks. Walked her home and tried to escalate once again. Pulled all stops, even the "Can I use her bathroom" attempt. Her roomie's mom was there apparently and I settled for a number and kiss close. Went back to the venue where Roosh, Rakishness and the other guys were.

All in all, not only does Arlington suck but DC does as well. You can get laid, and you should try to as much as possible, but your ROI is pretty crappy.

I should be able to start working remotely by the end of the year so I will be traveling a lot more routinely and spending my weekends elsewhere. I'm already talking to my boy in NYC about locking down apartments in the East Village (read Slubu's NYC data sheet) so that we can really pull some talent up there. Might be doing consistent weekend trips to NYC and will probably leave DC altogether sometime next year. This city blows.

Btw, I also spent some time this weekend in Clarendon during the day. Well, that's probably inaccurate because I didn't actually show up there until after 5pm but it was still bright out. B&N had no girls at all. Northside Social is probably the best coffeeshop for coffeeshop game but there were no girls when I went. The ones I saw were nerdy unattractive types who were probably law students at George Mason which is literally around the corner. I bounced after 45 minutes.

I may return to see what I can find with day game, specifically that coffeeshop, but I doubt the ROI is even worth the time. These chicks are not giving out IOIs as is the case in other cities I've been with attractive girls. Since the end of the year is fast approaching, I'm looking ahead beyond DC already.
