Yeah, I think social conditioning actually causes this problem (whether it's religious or not). Sit at a desk and take orders from a teacher or your boss, come home and get bitched at by your wife, watch entertainment that always portrays women as the smart decisionmakers and men as neanderthals... see the pattern? It's conditions you to constantly be passive, someone else is always doing the planning for you, just follow.
