That said, conveyor belt sushi is one of the few restaurants I've found in the US where you actually eat cheaper by eating less. Everywhere else you get stuck with a big pile of food.
The assumption is that the Japanese food you get in the U.S is the same as what they eat in Japan.
I used to date an Asian lizard and whenever we ate at a restaraunt, she told me that the food was terrible junk food. When we ate at her family's place, the food was fresher and much healthier.
Japanese food is healthier (less preservatives), more variety (fish, vegetables) and the lifestyle is not as sedentary as the North Americans.
