I see no need for it. I created it when the forum was seeing more political activity thanks to Occupy Wall Street. All threads will be returned back to the Everything Else forum.

IMHO it's a good idea to keep the subforum. Politics is a very charged subject with strong opinions and not really as tied into game as things like lifestyle, etc.
