Stuart Scott passes away(ESPN)

Horrible news. I loved Stuart. He influenced so many to the point everyone else is kinda of annoying to listen to because, "Who do they think they are? Stuart Scott?" It's terrible to die so young like this. He was battling cancer and I always wondered if he was a workaholic because he was on air so fucking much back in the day. I used to wonder when did he ever sleep.

Wow. What a huge loss. God takes some people before their time.
Prayers for his family and may his soul find peace.

The good really do die young. Carried himself with a lot of dignity during all this fighting this as hard as anyone could, sad to hear he succumbed to it in the end. RIP

Damn, this really ruined my morning. Just finally saw his recent ESPY's speech a couple of days ago.
He had the right philosophy though. Didn't want to spend time dwelling on his prognosis or feeling sorry for himself, just went out and lived life right up til the end.
RIP

I'll be honest - I never found him nearly as talented as DP, KO, Bob Ley, Max Kellerman, Eisen, and a number of other anchors and journos in sports but sucks going out young like that

The man was as cool as the other side of the pillow. I do agree that E!SPN is what it is today because of him. I don't mean that in a good way. He was so good at what he did, everyone tried to emulate him. You can't do that though because there is only one Stuart Scott. RIP in peace.

Gonna miss the guy, I could not stop laughing when ESPN decided to do a retro 70s style Sportscenter one day and Stu had his big Afro and quoted Parliament-Funkadelic during every highlight. Was one of a kind...RIP.

Stuart Scott, in his day, was cool. Amused mastery incarnate.
I’d go so far as to say that he and the other SportsCenter greats (Dan Patrick, Keith Olbermann, Kenny Mayne) were my original blueprints for “cool.” I bet that’s true for a lot of other guys in their late 20s or early 30s.
Yeah, he became a "brand" and ESPN rode it into the fucking ground. The man outlived the name, “Athlete Dying Young” style. Oh well. For a while, he was so good that they wanted to keep him around once he sucked—we should all be so lucky.
Stu went to my high school and wrote for the student paper, same as I did years later. I raided the paper's archives and clipped out a bunch of his articles. For a lot of years, those articles were my greatest claim to fame.
RIP

Comeon now, if you don't have anything good to say about the man then keep it to yourself and keep on moving!!!
RIP Stuart Scott. One of the first of his kind and someone who I have been watching since I was in grade school

RIP I liked his reporting. Was wondering what had happened to him and didn't know about the cancer. 49 is way too young to die.
What kind of cancer was it anyway? All the reports I've read say "he died of cancer" but none seem to be specific as to what type.

Sad news. ESPN however make a mockery of sports journalism/analysis. It's kinda like FOX news for sports: loud, obnoxious, and lacking substance.
