I think we all prefer instant hot and heavy chemistry. Most would put in some long term effort if there were a reasonable expectation of consummate reward. And a dry pussy is a hint that the reward won't be as great as if there were an instant hot and heavy chemistry.

You may put in a month of effort only to gain tepid sex. Or it may take months of tepid sex just to awaken her sexuality up to the level of moderate sex.

Good point about average per year being a better measure of notch count, but some people take years off of a player lifestyle at a time with bouts of serial monogamy.
