Montreal (Summer): I hear nothing but good things about this place, though I've only personally been there once. I can hop to other Canadian cities or NYC easily by car or plane too if I feel like it.

Barcelona (Winter, plus most of Fall and Spring): Fantastic weather plus close proximity to other cities in Europe. I can hop to London, Paris or Stockholm on weekends if I feel like it. There is also a ton of international talent (my school sends hundreds of kids over there on exchange programs every year, and I know it isn't the only one-most of them go in Winter). A sick pad and a car here would make pulling these exchange girls stupidly easy.

Very good combo, probably the best actually. In fact, that would probably be my move, but I don't know what Barcelona's weather is like during winter. I've only been during the summer but I hear it can get cold or chilly during winter, which is why I said Brazil. Also, Northern Europe is brick during winter--cold as fuck. I think winter in Europe is limited to the southern periphery along the Med. Otherwise, Barca all day for the reasons you mentioned. I even flew from Barcelona to Marrakesh, Morocco for $65!

Europe is a gold mine for swaggers(from whatever background!!)

Cities will like to live during the year
Quebec/montreal:
never been but i heard good things about these cities(chickwise, winter sport),and they speak french (easier to integrate and find work)

Goetborg/stockholm:
coz a group of nordic girls(maybe swedish i just guessed)couldn't keep their eyes off me in saint michel(paris metro). It was probably a small apetizer of what i could really get there.

Nairobi(kenya)

Brian -

"I cant see how anything can really be much better then LA or SD in summertime."

That is what I always thought, and there is a lot of truth to it.

However, Coastal Spain in my opinion surpasses it.

I have lived in La Jolla for multiple years and Santa Monica so I think I have some perspective on the matter.

Spain has over Calfornia:

Better weather. Straight up, every single day on the Med of June and July was pinned between 80-83 and sunny without a cloud in the sky. Diego was in June gloom. And July has been awful the last few years.

Equal or better beaches for beauty.

Better restaurants.

More liberal smoking laws

More liberal drinking laws - Straight up no comparison here. Spain treats California like rape victim on this front.

Topless Girls - need I say more?

Summertime festivals - California has nothing in the same universe to compare here. The stuff that goes on in Spanish festivals would give you 25 to life in CA.

Positive Energy - Spain is alight with energy in Summer. Hell, you will see fly girl after fly girl in the Barcelona airport alone that will dominate girls in CA in all but the best clubs. And it's a goddamn airport.

More freedom - California is eating its own young with the Police State.

Equal to better waves for surfing in summertime - really depends on where you are. But at least equal.

California is goose is cooked in my eyes. There is really no purpose in coming here unless you want to work in Hollywood (probably the wackest thing on earth) or Silicon Valley. Or maybe get a meal in SF.

Fantastic comparison. People who are uncquainted think Socal weather is perfect year-round, but May Gray and June Gloom is something serious, especially on the coast.

Your analysis about Cali becoming a police state is very astute as well. I've never understood how a city as world famous as Los Angeles has clubs shutting down at 2am. That's when nightlife in Spain officially starts. Great post.

Very good thread, I agree with Montreal in the summer and its actually a more feasible option because I can actually work there in my trade if I had to, although I probably wouldn't for various reasons (I've had job offers and telephone interviews to do so) however the winters are brutal. HC is right, Montreal is cheaper than other Canadian cities, especially for apartments and short term rentals, way cheaper.

A good winter spot for me would be either a place around Tampa Florida (close to my folks, nice beaches, reasonable prices, hot women, NHL hockey, stable country, quick flights to other hot spots, etc) or somewhere in Latin America/Caribbean, which is why I'm on this winter break, I want to learn Spanish and make Latin America/Caribbean my winter play ground for the next couple of decades!

This is quite achievable given my work situation, although not "location independant" I can make enough money in 4-6 months busting my ass in Fort Mac (AKA pussy purgatory) to live in both places for 3 months each year!

The first time I was ever in Barcelona I arrived in the winter. It actually snowed.

I heard it is kind of rare though.

Looks like January is between 56-40 degrees in January http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barcelona#Climate Not too bad.

I still think Spain in general is a better summer move, but maybe that is just me.

The place "richters" more in summer. But winter could be an ill move too, a little more cultural without the tourist hordes.

Right now, 2nd and 3rd tier cities hold more my interest in Spain.

I know that country get bashed on a lot on here, but the options of dope cities and towns there is almost limitless.

Plus, you have three coasts (Med, southern atlantic, north coast.)

And that is not including the two Island chains.

You could spend the next 5 years exploring that country alone.

OK, I have 2 mutually exclusive fetishes: (1) tall, cool, blonde ponytailed Nordic/Germanic types; (2) second is curvy big-butted Latinas.

Spring, Summer -- Berlin - best place for type #1. The girls in Berlin are taller, blonder, and more "Nordic" than in other parts of Germany. Copenhagen and Stockholm are great for that type too, of course, but neither are world-class cities, while Berlin is. Not one but two subway systems. Great arts, cafes, cabarets, variety. P4P if you want it.

Fall, Winter -- probably Santo Domingo, Caracas, or Isla Margarita, Venezuela. Have lived in Puerto Rico, and although I love it, the girls there are too Americanized. But I love Caribbean women and their butts.

JT do women in Caracas or Isla Margarita have nice butts like dominican women? Did you find it to be dangerous as much as the media portrays? i wonder if is possible to be approaching hardcore day time there as other cities.

Swedes are hands down better looking and more approachable then German girls. German girls are basically the same as American/British girls except their slimmer and blonder. So Stockholm over Berlin. And Medellin or another dope spot in Colombia over anything in Venezuela. Chavez is a mad man and the country has the highest murder rate in the world.

Mine would be Medellin in the winters, and Montreal in the summers, sprinkled with Miami Beach a few weeks each year just for the fun vibe Miami has.

London in the Summer

Cape Town in the Summer.

Both cities are way underated.

Despite all the Brithate here and elsewhere London really is the only contender for the true home of the international playboy. NYC gives it a run for it's money, but is more parochial, and not nearly as "international" as London. Also, there are plenty of hot chicks from all four corners of the earth here to work, party and have a good time in the worlds capital.

Cape Town is in a country with severe personal safety issues, but if you can handle them it adds an edginess that is entirely absent from similarly beautiful and "cool" cities in more developed counties. Expect to see this city identifies as a new "it" city by the great and good of Western media within the next 5-10 years.

I've never been to Rio but if I were to pick I'd pick Miami & Rio de Janeiro. If I was financially stable I'd live in Miami & suit up like G suggests, and pull chicks from the most upscale clubs in Miami & South Beach.

Unfortunately the only venue in Miami I'd ever been turned out to be a disaster, it's a place called Nocturnal.

How can you choose a city to live in half the year if you've never been there??
That's slightly absurd!

It's about the dream hombre. If you were a millionaire and could pick any two cities to live in, where would they be? It's a motivational tool more than anything. Gives you an end game or a goal to work towards.

Goteborg, Sweden: Access to tall blondes, my preferred phenotype by far. Many of my favorite metal bands are from here. Germany's music scene (both metal and electronic) isn't far away. Access to Central/Eastern Europe is easy, so I can plunder some Slavic beauties too. The country itself is safe and open. I would spend the summers here.

Osaka, Japan: Asians are my 3rd favorite ethnicity after Slavs and Nords. Tokyo is too expensive and has too many foreigners. I think in a 2nd tier Japanese city my personal brand will have more cachet. Osaka's nightlife is quite decent, and of course, being Japan, the car scene is damn near unrivaled. Spend the winters here to avoid the summer Asian humidity. I HATE humidity.

I think my dream city would be a place like Denver. Mountainous, cold, high altitude, but fairly safe and with a healthy and wealthy population. If I could find such a city in Asia, with a mix of Asian and Russian women, I'd probably never leave. Maybe Ulan Bataar in 10 years...

Dallas is my home....I have lots of hook ups there and most of my friends there.
Close enough to travel all over Texas for college football games.

2nd is probable somewhere in Brazil on the coast...I haven't traveled out of the US but 2 times...so I don't have much experience, but I loved Rio and plan to go back soon.

I remember dreaming one day that if I won the lottery I'd buy a place in Rio and a place in Dallas....then live back and forth.

Never been to Miami or LA so can't really speak about both of those

I've lived in Dallas, Waco, SE Texas, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, soon SE Illinois(hopefully-work)

Bumping this great thread.

I'm actually looking for that warm, sunny second spot I could pop to for a month or two in winter.

The problem is, the obvious choices (Greece, Spain, Portugal, Southern Italy) aren't exactly easy pussy meccas. Out of all of them, I like Portuguese culture the most, but it also has some of the ugliest women you'll find in Europe.

You then of course have Balkan countries along the Adriatic, but they're so inundated with tourists (for example, Dalmatian Coast/Islands of Croatia) that they're sick of foreigners like me, period.

I have finally realized that basing my self out of California for all these years has been self torture for traveling.

Two clues to an ideal lifestyle. Thanks.

My plan is to start with NYC in 2014, and use my two weeks of vacation to go on flag missions. (I'm planning to build skills to become more location-independent.) If I had a month off and a bit more in the bank right now, I'd do:
- New York (I'm exploring Brooklyn in early December with a friend. Tips welcome!)
- Montreal
- San Francisco
- Berlin

I'e thought of this a lot, but because I live and will continue to live on a limited income, I want to find ONE place that can be adaptable. Moves to new cities blow at least 2-3k in my experience, my recent move to USA was over 5k because of intercontinental flight cost and the need to buy a car.

I'm addicted to mountains, I absolutely love climbing up mountain roads on my bicycles, and I want to be near a major city, because I have a lot of time and I don't work you see, with mountains nearby and not too harsh a climate. Soon I'll either have a hot chick or have forgotten about them, so I don't care about chicks that much-- maybe Milan or Naples. I already tried the mountains south of Wroclaw and they are too boring in the summer to live there.

I also want someplace where the mountains get some snow. Here in northern california we have the Sierras, but I can't live here because .. well it's America.

My plan is to get an Siberian or Asian chick pregnant and then move her to Italy. Harder for her to land a cool Italian guy and ditch me once she's got a kid. And divorce takes five years there I believe.

Take her to Croatia instead. Maybe Istria. Basically like Italy without the horny Italian guys. And a bit cheaper if you can get the locals to stop ripping you off with tourist prices.
