Buy Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe off of Amazon and follow that. You will get strong and your body will look better than ever. Or just follow this: http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/S...ength_Wiki

Squats, deadlifts, presses, cleans, pull/chinups are what you need. Stay away from the body part split workouts. Pullups and chinups will make your biceps bigger and stronger than curls will, not to mention your upper back.

This is so fucking simple. I can't understand why so few guys realize this. You'll gain way more strength (real world strength not just gym strength) and muscle size much faster than all those stupid isolation workouts and you'll spend a shitload less time at the gym.

This stuff Sounds interesting but right now I can only do like 2 pullups so i cant do that, and deadlifting and squating look dangerous to me, I'm not event Good at Keeping a Good posture while I'm walking around, so I'm sure If I squat or deadlift on a regular basis I would fuck my back up quick, and I'm sure what clietns are, but I'm sure I would suck at those too.

In that case do your two pullups. Then do like 4 more sets of two pullups. That's more than tons of people can do, believe me. The only way to get better at pullups is to do pullups. And yes, squatting and deadlifting can be very dangerous if you do them wrong. If you do them right, they are not dangerous and are the two best and most complete lifts you can possibly do. There are tons of videos online that teach you proper form and there is no need to go very heavy before you get the form down. These will also help your posture tremendously if you do them correctly, as they work the core extremely hard as well.

Good info here. Squats are one of the best exercises for healthy knees WHEN DONE PROPERLY. What you learned from your high school gym coach is more than likley, dead wrong. Buy yourself a copy of Starting Strength and it will alleviate all of your worries, and teach you correct form. I knew NOTHING about working out before buying that book. Best $20 you will spend for physical fitness in your life.

Trust me, whatever hesitations you have, I also had. They have been completely erased for me and you can do the same. Don't listen to people who say squats and deadlifts are dangerous, or will make you less flexible, or that you can squat on the smith machine. This is like saying game can not be learned and that you are born with it, or you aint. Pure bullshit.

Stop with that elliptical junk. You can reach your goals by doing mostly weight training. The fact that you have little muscle shows you should focus on this more. You will speed up your metabolism will rev into high gear and pounds will rip off.

I struggle to GAIN weight because my metabolism is in high gear now. I crush 3400calories per day so I can gain a pound or two per month. Cardio sucks lifting is way more rewarding, cardio has its place but don't burn yourself out. Up your fibre intake how do you think your body will process those 200grams of protein! Your insides will turn into a landfill and you'll be shitting bricks daily if you don't up that fibre, plus you will be full way more also with no desire to eat.

Good luck a lot of people on here have been in the same boat, my opinion is that 25 lbs in 2 months is to intense you will destroy your body in that short time frame with no strength to show. A strong man trumps a lean man always.

Agreed. Egg yolks are good saturated fats. High in calories yes, but very nutritious calories. Cutting calories is not necessarily cutting your waistline.

Chad, i respectfully disagree. Egg yolks contain pure cholesterol and calories, not healthy fats. Every single nutrition book, nutritionist and dietician I have ever read/met says to avoid egg yolks like a bad disease.

The only diet that encourages people to eat whole eggs as much as they can is the Atkins diet, and Dr. Atkins had heart disease called cardiomyopathy before a slip on icy pavement caused his death.

For healthy fats, one should consume EFA pills found in any health food store.

Mixx

I'm pretty sure we can all agree that mainstream knowledge is not the end all be all.

http://www.cholesterol-and-health.com/Egg_Yolk.html

A healthy person should NEVER replace eating with taking pills for nutrients. Look up the documentary Fat Head he explains much better then I can why fats are good.for you and how it all works.

I gotta agree with Mixx, saturated fats are by no means healthy. High cholesterol can cause heart diseases. Healthy fats can be found in almonds, sardines, ect

Chad is right people. The Saturated fat taboo is a gimmick. It was created by the oil industry to make margarine look like a better alternative to saturated fat rich butter. The yolk is the healthiest part of the egg, that is where all of the nutrients lie. Saturated fats as long as they are mostly plant based are not bad for you. Like I said cultures whom east the majority of their fats from dense saturated fats have no cholesterol or heart related diseases to speak of. Mirror this with North America where 1 in 6 is a walking heart attack waiting to happen.

The science on saturated fats is dead wrong. As far as they come from mostly plant sources they are incredibly good for you. Palm and Coconut oils are superior to anything else and they are packed full of healthy Saturated fats.

Enjoy egg yolks, your wasting money and nutrients tossing out the yolks I crush back 4-6 eggs once a week or 2. Its something I enjoy in moderation, if I'm hurting for protein ill have 1 or 2 hard boiled eggs on days back to back.

Right now my diet is almost 50% fat, from avocados, olive oil, nuts, Coconut oil, eggs. Fats are good for you don't believe the hype.

*disclaimer* One should always look at family history to see if any trends in heart issues pop off. Obviously some people will be more sensitive to certain foods from others. Being African I limit how much animal fats I consume as well as empty carbs as those 2 have been the culprits of diabetes and heart issues amongst African-Americans. It may differ if your Latin, European, South Asian etc..

ive noticed some muscle gains over the past 2 weeks and i think ive lost a few pounds of fat, but i found out yesterday that my gym membership has expiered and i dont think ill be able to renew it.

i moved into an apartment on a public golf course about 3 weeks ago, and my fathers assistant who also lives in our neighborhood gave us a guest pass for this baller ass country club a few blocks away from my place that has a gym, but our guest past was only for 2 weeks, and now its expiered. a membership at this place cost 2500 dollars a year, or 10 dollars a day so theres no chance in hell that ill be able to go back there any time soon.

i have no workout equipment at all, so this is a new wokout routine that ive come up with.

50 drop downs- everyday except sun
150 pushups everyday except sun
500 situps/crunchs - mon,wed,fri
100 dips- mon,wed,fri
250 calf raises- tue,thur,sat
invisible chair 5 times- tue,thur,sat
6-7 miles of walking everyday

you guys think that i should lose weight doing this? im not really interested in gaining muscle right now, im just trying to lose fat.

im going to do this for about a week or so until i get about 100 dollars and then ill buy the insanity workout videos

what do guys think?
