Can you really become a "good looking" guy or is that all genetics?

Can you really become a "good looking" guy or is that all genetics?

Now of course by good looking guy I mean the guy who walks into a club and has all the women looking at him and smiling, the guy in the work place most women will probably be dreaming about, or the guy who can go to NYC on new year's eve and just by standing around and enjoying the moment can attract some women. A man who can reap benefits for society for being good looking (like the ones they talk about on studies).

What I want to know is this. Can you truly turn yourself into a good looking guy by working out, styling your hair a certain way, and working on your style or is that stuff basically all up to genetics?

Most importantly, but what age has a man grown enough to realize whether or not he will be good looking? Would you say an average looking 19 year old can turn into an attractive 30 year old?

I can't answer the "by what age" question but with regards to the second question, the way your look/style is perceived by different girls changes depending on how you dress/alter your body and what girls you talk to. An average looking 19 year old can easily improve his looks in a matter of months, but "attractive" changes from girl to girl. That is to say, different body types (bulky but not fat vs. lean), ways of styling your facial hair and hair, and style will appeal to different girls. Say you're currently not getting a lot of ass, but not working out that much and are hanging out in loud clubs. If you were to pack on some muscle, throw on a v-neck tee, grow your hair out, listen to some alternative bands, and head to a hipster bar, you'd probably snag quite a few girls. You have to experiment with what type of looks appeals to different niches of girls and what gets you the greatest # of bangs and then remember what works for each type of girl and customize your game/look when you go hunting for them.

In any case improving your diet, exercise, and personal hygiene (cold showers, washing your face, always having gum, lip balm, etc.) will always make you more physically attractive

More importantly though, since you're new here be careful about posting threads on looks. We've had a lot of trolls posting "looks" threads who don't actually want advice, so if you sincerely want a few tips on this subject take the advice you get, don't complain, and don't harp too much on this as game trumps looks.

well I know what you are trying to say but what I am saying is the few guys out there who as a general consensus can be considered attractive, are that way because of genetics or mostly because of how they take care of themselves

and I live in so cal, here, either really good looking guys or the rich guys with status get the 7s and above in a lot of cases

At the club I see dudes with "game" get shot down left to right by decent looking women

You can only improve yourself to a certain level and from that point forward its game. Unless your willing to go get plastic surgery to change significantly how you look. But I the real issue is that many guys are good looking and too many n.a. women are fat and overwight leading to lots of men chasing few women = even a good looking guy would have trouble getting a girl.

Depends. Some people are unattractive because they have bad genes. Some are unattractive because of bad presentation(for example, Plain Janes). I think the majority of unattractive people can at least bring themselves up to decent. Fix their teeth, losing weight, putting one some muscle, get a haircut that compliments their face, treat acne or scars, having a facial hair style that works with you, having a style that brings out your best. That sort of thing.

Of course even if you take all these measures and bring yourself up as high as you can, I think very few guys are going to go from being a 4 in women's eyes to being an 8. You might go from 4 to 6. Plus, women aren't as responsive to looks as men are. It's important, but women aren't walking down the street twisting their head saying "dayum" at every good looking guy that walks by. They aren't like that. So even good looking guys will never get the same attention from women that an equally good looking woman will get from men. It's just going to be a numbers game for us.

You can definitely get better looking, but your genetics determines the limit. Pretty much anyone without some severe deformity can be a 5, but not anyone can be a 10. If you are an 8 while overweight and badly dressed, then you have the potential to be a 9.5-10.

Work out hardcore and DRESS WELL. Younger women especially respond well to a good haircut (at the moment shaved sides and fringe is in) and good clothes, it's almost like a shorcut to them to detect alpha status.

You can fix fat. You can fix teeth. You can fix hair. You can fix style.

But, you can't fix ugly. (unless you get plastic surgery, I guess)

If you look at little 10 year old kids, you can pretty much tell who will grow up to be looking and who won't. Its mostly genetics.

Though, personality and style go a long way.

Some are born rich, some are born smart, some are born beautiful.

Its all how you play your cards!
