there are some great pubs, cocktail bars and restaurants down there, Ward III and the Toro Lounge are great cocktail bars, full of chicks most any night. One of my favorite spots just closed for renovations, called Ponte's, an old school italian place that was there for decades, great dinner spot for a night out with buddies. The Tribeca Grand hotel is another good spot for parties and drinks. The Greenhouse is a happening spot lately, a decent club. The Trump Hotel is pretty good for drinks. If you can stand it... terroir wine bar is a great spot for dates or game. If you are into wine sit at the bar, the staff are all wine experts, and its full of the after work finance crowd.

I guess this is the NYC thread with the most action, idk whether to post my thoughts and ramblings here or in the meetups thread, guess I'll spread it out some


Anyway, here are my latest updates and findings, etc, mostly for the kind of dudes that don't have a sleep schedule like DL.


After kicking it with a few collegiate, amateur, semi and professional dancers, I'm beginning to realize that the dance scene in NYC is a lot more interesting than I originally gave it credit for. The dancers LOVE what they do, and as long as they are in high spirits, and you are open to dancing, meeting, or better yet befriending (for more info, invites, etc) becomes incredibly easy.

You don't even have to know how to dance!!! I sure as heck don't, my dance experience comes from watching people at the club, random telemundo, and memories of the 90's swing revival because I was always curious if I was strong enough to do big swing moves. An I am. It's incredibly easy. If you lift a girl up Dirty Dancing style or swing her off her feet and in the air (I have no idea how to describe these moves) she will be putty in your hands.

The other thing is - 90% of the people there can't really dance much too! there is a large contingent of mostly girls that all gathered together and thought "you know what, a night of tango dancing would be pretty fucking cool". They have no idea what they are doing, so even if you have the slightest clue, you are already a better dancer than 90% of them.

And I know most of you folks wont heed this advice because in the immortal words of Fat Joe - "Said my niggas don't dance we just pull up our pants And do the rockaway"

Anyway, these events have been scrambled, but one cool constant has been "Rebel Night" at Otto's Shrunken Head on 14th St and Avenue B. These parties are held once a month, usually on the 3rd friday of the month, and the theme is "50s". Girls with long dresses, dudes with leather jackets and greasy hair, you get the deal. Next one is on the 18th.

Another party is this one - https://www.facebook.com/events/395557813903116/ - apparently Zouk is some sexy dance style and the people that run these want to give it some genuine exposure. I haven't been yet but I will check it out soon, but I heard great things.


What else what else.... Oh yeah - it's College Football season again!!!!! That means lots of girls who just moved to NYC from the sexy southern football schools like my favorite University of Florida! They have not etched out a niche in NYC yet and are looking for familiar comfort, and NYC will give it to them. I live close to Gin Mill, so i might give that a shot soon.
Finding bars is a matter of a simple google search, and of course, be smart - you're not gonna get hot girls at Wisconsin and Syracuse bars.

I meant "model haven", although as there "opening" push ended, it's possible that it has/will sway to a more "classy" hipster spot.

Yep, need girls for PHD sunset (or $300 bar tab) but I can give you some "names" which will make rolling with a girl almost guaranteed. Everyone comes from LAVO BRUNCH and DAY N NIGHT Brunch. (which is right down the block) Most people who go to those things know to hit PHD after so if you go to the 1st one you'll generally get into the next. Or just pick them up from the street as I learnt ALOT of the chicks don't really know anyone. (Consistently chicks would open me asking me to help them get in)

NOTE, my PhD data will eventually be BS in maybe a 6 months to a year. I'm banned from there so I am getting 2nd hand feedback and assessing based on which of my "connector" friends frequent it still.

Im just throwing an update in this thread. Went to Catch this past weekend and the talent was really lacking. There were about 15 hot girls at the “model" table, 3 hot floaters and 2 or 3 cute bangable girls. Our table ended up leaving around 2 to head to Finale (where they allow smoking inside wtf??) and since we had all the girls it must have been horrible after. Id skip Catch for sure.

Ainsworth (west side one) still a reliable place to watch any sort of playoff game and have quality to hit on at the same time.

I was at Catch saturday night. I had been like 8 months ago or so same night and it was 100x better. I'll have to try to check it out on a Monday sometime.

Finale was fine and while I don't mind the smoke at all don't go there if you do
