Amsterdam + Paris

I'm flying into Amsterdam next week for the sole purpose of catching 2 Nine Inch Nails concerts (its their last tour). They're playing a show in Paris and a show in Amsterdam, and I'm basically staying in Amsterdam for 6 days and staying in Paris for 1 day. I know I should probably be spending more time in Paris to check more things out, but to be perfectly honest I don't know an ounce of french and am only really going there for the concert, then heading right back to Amsterdam.

Anyway, I was wondering for those of you who've been to Amsterdam before to give me a few recommendations on things to checkout. The two most obvious things are the coffee shops and the red light district, which I assure you I'll probably be spending the majority of my time at both. The only thing I've come across so far that isn't related to sex and drugs has been the Van Gogh museum, but I'd like to compile a list of other worthwhile attractions to checkout before I head over there. Feel free to list a few coffee shops that I should definitely check out, but I'm more interested in everything else thats over there since I've already done my homework on the majority of the coffee shops [Image: smile.gif]

I spent about 3 days in Amsterdam and, besides the RLD, coffee shops adn the Van Gogh museum, just walking around is worthwhile. The place is gorgeous and people watching is amazing. RLD is only interesting because it's unique: the women there are ugly. A word of advice: if you're planning on hitting some clubs over there, keep in mind that some clubs are Dutch-only on Saturdays. Bouncers will keep the non-Dutch crowd out by asking you a random question in Dutch and if you seem like you didn't understand, they say 'Sorry, it's a private party tonight.' This could actually be the only time you hear Dutch there too[Image: smile.gif]

speakeasy: very informative guide - thanks for the link

hangover: good call about the clubs in RLD, thankfully I'm arriving on a Sunday morning and leaving on a Friday night, so a Dutch-only club on a Saturday won't be a problem. definitely planning on mostly just walking around to check things out - just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be anything i'd miss checking out and regret later for my first time over there.

Holland is the most racist Country in Europe. You won't really find racism in Amsterdam though.

Nah, they aren't. You'll have fun there!
Amsterdam is full of touristy type girls, so you'll have less chance of fucking a Dutch girl.

Agreed.
Be prepared for high bitch shields, flakes, opening struggles and girls telling you they have "Boyfriends". Your Inner-Game has gotta have tons of layers of tough skin. Dutch girls know they're hot. Holland is one of the most multi-cultural countries out there. Nothing is exclusive in Holland. Whether you're Black, White, Latin or Asian. You will get equal amounts of reception from Dutch Girls of all races.

Check out Rotterdam, Hauge, Utretcht and Einghoven too if you have time. These cities and provinces go a little unmentioned when people talk about Holland. When you get off at Centraal Station, you can view the time destination to these places, some are 1hour train rides and some are less.

Try Club Bitterzoet, Paradiso, Sugar Factory and Power Zone in Amsterdam.

Note: Girls are more open to socialise and talk to you in clubs as apose to on the street, fast food joints and restaurants (McDonalds and Pizza Plazas you'll see loads of groups of girls and mixed sets chilling out) - Avoid these sets, they will quickly blow you out. College and High School students are more fun/easier to approach. Logistics plays a role too, but I've had some friends who got laid from girls who were in the same Student Hostels as them.

Oh, and know a little Dutch for ordering food dude. Most of the employees in fast-food places hardly know any English. Body Language is your best friend in Holland.

P.S, don't say you're in "Holland" or ask people about "Holland", they will laugh at you. Say Netherlands or the City you're in at the time.

Hey, I'm planning on travelling to amsterdam in April. I went last august and stayed at a camp site where they give you a little cabin or a wagonette for about €20 per person per night. Does anyone know of accommodation cheaper than this?

You might also want to check out Anne Frank Huis (House), which is where she hid out, and it was converted to a museum. There's a good place to eat right next door called The Pancake Bakery, which is open only for lunch at noon. They're pancakes, but not the breakfast variety. You can get all kinds of ingredients in them. There's a place called the Amsterdam Cafe that might be good in the evenings - it's a bar/restaurant. There's the Heineken Brewery, and the Waterlooplein Flea Market.

I'd recommend you also check a place called "De Melkweg" (the milky way), it' close to the Leidseplein downtown. Check beforehand their schedule of concerts and see if there's anything you like, it may be very well worth a visit and the atmosphere is great.

Try to check also "The Waterhole" sort of underground place for live Rock music also in the downtown area. I had fun there a couple of times.

I love Amsterdam. Only great memories. As a German, I never experienced any racism during my numerous visits to the city. The girls are hot and friendly.

There was a great non-commercial game forum (dutchseduction) some years ago. It does not exist anymore.
Fortunately, I saved the Amsterdam thread. Most of the content was provided by the user stRiPPed (great guy).

I found the data sheet very helpful. Note that it is from 2005, so some things have changed!

UPDATE for Amsterdam, July 2005:

The free magazine nl20 has a relatively complete listing of parties and events. You can pick up the magazine in restaurants and shops all over the city. It's probably the most complete single source of information about the Amsterdam cultural scene and its nightlife.

Some Internet sites that attempt to cover the party scene:

http://www.partyscene.nl/
http://www.djguide.nl
http://www.guestlist.nu/
http://www.link2party.nl/
http://www.presale.nl/
http://www.xpander.nl/

These sometimes have parties that don't make it into the nl20, but I don't know any single site that is as complete as that magazine.

Two of the oldest clubs:

http://www.paradiso.nl/index2.php
http://www.melkweg.nl/pro_musi.htm

Both have varied programs that are worth checking out occasionally. The Paradiso has standard students' nights called "Noodlanding" on Wednesday and Thursday that are always fairly crowded.

Here is a site with links to the more underground scene, warehouse parties, etc.: http://www.vrijeruimte.nl You'll probably have to do a lot more digging to find the good parties here. Or you can ask around.

In the summer, when the weather is good there are parties given at the clubs on the beach, mostly at Bloemendaal aan Zee.

http://www.dekust.nl
http://www.dezomer.nl
http://www.lidobloemendaal.nl
http://www.redrockbeach.com
http://www.republiek.tv
http://www.woodstock69.nl

--------------------

In addition to the streets and shops listed above, daytime PU can be done in the Vondelpark, and sometimes on the Museumplein, particularly when the weather is good and there are events taking place. The city also has a temporary beach, called Blijburg on the Ijburg island which is reachable with tram 26.

We have to thank left wing do-gooders with big jobs concerning immigration to thank for that. the average man on the street doesn't want immigration from non-western countries.

I'm NOT a white knight. Some guys got that idea because i hated on a guy who kicked girls out his house naked because they wouldn't fuck and saying he has good game. If hating on that kind of behavior makes me a white knight so be it.

Do white nights have websites about banging, pumping and dumping and cheatin girls all over the world ??

You say they commit crimes, don't want to work, and are backwards because they have medieval values.

They say they you want them to assimilate not integrate, won't hire them, and are backwards because you are xenophobic and ignorant.

So who's fault is it?

...BOTH. Plenty of blame to around but evidently accountability is elusive.

I have to imagine that most of Holland's debt was incurred from native born people wanting a socialized system where they have generous healthcare, pensions, housing subsidies, cheap universities, and 8+ weeks vacation a year. But screw logic, let's just blame the Islamoids.
