Putting aside the topic of the U.S. in general, I think the most overrated city is London. Any city which charges you rip-off prices for virtually everything, kicks you out of the pub at midnight just as you're starting to get a buzz on because inconceivably, most bars and pubs till DO close at midnight (even smalltown bars in Texas can beat that), then informs you that there's no way to get home because the whole f*cking train system is also already shutting down at midnight too, so you have to blow 50+ Euro on a taxi to get home after an unsatisfying night in which the only good-looking girls are expats, immigrants or tourists....Great huh? Especially since the city is blindly worshipped as a brand, like NYC.
Underrated? Not sure...Gothenburg Sweden or some place in Germany like Cologne perhaps (Check out Karneval!).
Like any Big city it can leave you feeling sore if you're not there for long and don't get an "in" with a few people, and are left feeling a bit left out.
As for foreign girls, well London is a Major destination so you're ineveitably going to meet a lot of foreigners living there and visitors, especially if you're only in the centre bars and clubs.
I don't see why that's a downer though!
And foreigners aren't the "only" good looking girls here,I always read this here and it's just Bull.
It is expensive but again what major city isn't.
Travel, well public transport is pretty extensive if expensive and crowded at rush hour ,but it beats the hell out of most American cities on that count.
You don't need to drive,in fact it's easier without a car,I count that as a major plus, especially if I'm out on the town of an evening!
Like anywhere you have to find your niche.
If you're walking in blind it's always going to be hit and miss wherever you go.
Once you have a little local knowledge London should come alive for you.
Having said that it's not my favourite place to go out on the pull.
