Most Overrated/Underrated Place You've Been

Most Overrated/Underrated Place You've Been

Overrated: Hollywood/Beverly Hills

Underrated: Faroe Islands, Azores, Canary Islands, Svalbard

I know I'm probably going to get shit for my overrated choices, so I'm going to explain. I have never been in a place more saturated with 9+ girls than the Hollywood and Beverly Hills area. I used to go for 1-2 week stays multiple times a year (business). I wasn't actively gaming, but I ended up having a sort of passive game (it took me a while to figure out why). I was dressed like a total schlep but I was getting solid IOIs from service girls. For the uninitiated, all the service girls in this area (baristas, servers, etc) are trying to break in to the acting business. Literally, all of them. And a lot of them are in that 9+/9.5+ range.

But, try talking to one of these girls. I mean, seriously, have a conversation with one for more than five minutes. It will be the most insipid bullshit you have ever heard in your life. I just couldn't take it. Maybe it's because I'm getting old, but there is a maximum level of bullshit I can take from a woman before I just drop all effort and basically try to get them to go away (anti-game? is that a thing?). And, I have found no higher concentration of all the personality traits I hate than Hollywood/BH. I could extend that out, generally to much of Southern California to a lesser extent.

Edit: For those asking about the "passive game" I was running. Essentially, I went to the Chateau Marmont to meet someone, and I ended up seeing some "high up" industry people by the pool. I have no idea, but I'm not in that business. These dudes were all dressed like hobos. This guy I was meeting explained that there is a cultural thing within the industry of wearing extremely expensive clothing that looks like shit, essentially. It's like a shibboleth to people who can spot it. Because there are lots of actual homeless people in the area, I didn't pick up on it. But, I realized that I was dressing like a schlep (for comfort and because I didn't care), but I was wearing comfortable clothing from expensive places. I'm guessing (because really I have no idea) that a lot of these wannabe actresses have a sixth sense for that kind of stuff, and they were assuming I was some kind of insider that could get them ahead. So, if anyone wants to go run some Harvey Weinstein game, don't forget to thank your Uncle Tiger Man for the heads up.

As to my underrated, it's pretty much the exact opposite. I met a number of women in these somewhat remote places who were hot and actually normal. The kind of girl you can talk to without wanting to reenact a scene from American Psycho. The key is to find girls who aren't terribly interested in "leaving home". They are cool with living where they are or want to stay close to their family. I think there is a self-selection here, because, from what I heard in these places, a lot of the young people leave in their early 20s. So, if you find a 23-2x-year-old girl, odds are she stayed for a reason. As an added bonus, some of these places are cool as shit. Svalbard specifically, if you are in to weird arctic adventures, is awesome. If you go, check out Pyramiden. It's an old Soviet coal mining operation that shut down and is now a creepy industrial ghost city. I don't know if anyone played the game Stalker back in the day, but it's pretty much that.

Can you speak more on the Canary Islands? Which island in particular brought you the most success with the 20-30 aged locals?

Over: London
Under: Close tie between Edinburgh & Warsaw

London is the most over-rated city I've ever visited, and it is because it is expensive, has a lot of tourists, weather is shit, and the city really isn't British in character at all. It's so damn cosmopolitan, there's no Britishness left to it. New York is much better in my opinion. Paris may not be as good for business, but it is much better to visit.

Edinburgh is a great city, especially in the summer, is decently easy to get around, and of course cheaper than London. The architecture is amazing, the air clean, and the city has some Scottish character to it. If you are more into hipster places, Edinburgh is great, because there is a thriving restaurant/bar scene with lots of fresh local food. There is also a lot of great art and music stuff happening as well.

Warsaw is a nice EE city, but it is a bit new since a lot of it was bombed in WW2. Prices are cheap, people are helpful, seem not to be as many tourists as Krakow. It feels very worldly for an EE city.

Underated
Brisbane: Very low competition compared to Sydney or Melbourne, not many foreigners at all. It feels like real Australia there. Close to Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.

Montreal: While talked of highly, this place is just fun. Winter is pretty bad but it's quite unique in North America.

Overated
Portland, OR: What a shithole. Was expecting something like Seattle but it was a huge let down. Homeless people everywhere and the nightlife was sad. Depressing city.

Thailand: Found it gross and just not appealing overall, food made me sick as hell. Nice beaches have trash everywhere. I've heard Vietnam is what Thailand used to be so I'd like to check it out there.

underrated: Cusco. especially if you're into the backpacker scene. beautiful young women from around the world, solid history/culture, and a nice stopping point along the gringo trail. gets really old after a couple months though. it's essentially a sprawling pueblo. one issue is the local girls aren't all that attractive, unless your'e into the indigenous look

overrated: Bangkok. The song sums this city up pretty well. left me with a layer of grime and lost hope for humanity. Girls were ridiculously easy and some were attractive, though. I'll probably be back.

Overrated: Vancouver. Cold entitled women, expensive and the nightlife is full of douches and hipsters.

Underrated: Mendoza Argentina, lots of pretty girls, easier to get than BA, decent beer, great steak and wine scene and enough easy tourists on wine tours for some variety.

Underrated: Kharkiv Ukraine, Seville Spain.

Overrated: Bocas del Toro, Panama, and Austin Texas. Bocas is a total tourist trap dump that is only frat boys and drunk backpackers. Austin is filled with feminists and SJWs. Women all want men to be beta-orbiters and agree to every stupid thing that comes out of their mouths. Also a lot of LA people are moving in fast.

The Gold Coast is really a hidden gem of sorts in Australia. At least, I don't think enough international tourists consider it. They all head to Sydney or Melbourne. Gold Coast is great for a few things. If you want to learn to surf, or you already do, it's a great area. They film all sorts of Australian TV and movies there, so it is easy to go watch a shoot or maybe get an "extra" credit. There are something like 30 theme parks in the area, which you can get a multipass for. They have a froshers? week, which is like the drunk, slutty Australian version of spring break (if you're in to that sort of thing...). And there are just enough foreign girls there, that, if you know the logistics of the area, you can seriously game, night and day.

Agreed on Vancouver, over and over again. There is too much Toronto hate on RVF and not enough Vancouver hate. Outside of UBC - and even that is becoming dangerous - there is nowhere to game in VC. The nightclubs are all ungodly expensive and you get no ROI. I found that a lot of the women weren't even hot enough to justify the cover charges. And the social scene is just as bad. I actually find a lot of similarities between Vancouverites and the Dutch. It's like, if you didn't grow up or go to university with a group, they will never fully accept you in to that group.

Vancouver is a very nice looking place. I'll give it that. And, it's great if you are a foodie. I'm not. But, it always gets talked up for the nature scene. Vancouver proper is a concrete jungle. The only natural thing to see is Stanley Park. If you want to surf, avoid Vancouver and go to Tofino. If you want to hit the skis, go to Whistler. Personally, the only time I spend in Vancouver these days is going through the airport.

I'm throwing together some data sheets right now. I will include as much as possible on the game side, although I tend to shy away from direct night gaming.

Underrated: Pattaya
Can I just say that while this is not a forum geared towards p4p - me being a 33 y/o white European I had a blast in Pattaya. No need to pay for sex. It literally comes to you.
The abundance of women will present any decent man with a shortlist of free bangable women. If you do suspect they are in for a sponsor make it clear you are not paying. The next one is just in line.
I didn't even mind the whoring atmosphere, I actually found it rather entertaining.
A big plus for me in Pattaya is that supply and demand in the rental department is more favourable than any other place I have been to before.
So many condos being built. And plenty of them only around 30/40% occupied.
Food and gym was more than affordable for anyone. Another point is that I found everything so much more chilled and relaxed compared to Bangkok. Making friends in Pats was the easiest thing in the world.
You can live a very cheap and good life in Pattaya IMO

Just don't fall off a balcony

Most underrated:
- Kazan, Russia: Mix of Hot Blonde and Brunette White Russians and Eurasian Tartar women, man are they stunning and COMMON.
- Krasnodar, Russia: Good Climate, less touristy than Sochi and bigger, not too many know English compared to St Petersburg/Moscow, so be prepared with some beginner or medium level Russian.
- Bolzano, Italy: A border town between Italy and Switzerland and man are the women gorgeous here, 7s on average... No too many tourists was only here for a day so I haven't tried game here though, might be difficult considering its Italy, everyone here is bilingual speaking German/Italian, French/Italian but low-level english.

Most overrated:
- Las Vegas: There are an abundance of 8+ here dont get me wrong, but everyone travels in groups here and its difficult to get good game here as group approaches almost never work for me if I want to single out girls. Might have just been in the wrong places on the Strip but that was my experience.
- Seattle: Night life is pretty decent but Feminazs and many women who think their value and status is WAY higher than what it is as many guys are desperate as hell and as a result you see above average guys here in Seattle with 5s and 4s..
- Vancouver: Way too many Asians for my taste and Im half asian. Night Life is decent similar type of crowd to Seattle but just a larger scale.

Ultimately, we should care more about being effective than simply nobly intentioned. It is not enough to dream well: the true measure is what we achieve.

Most underrated :

Zagreb (Croatia)
Aix en Provence (France)

Most Overrated :

Prague (Czech republic)
Budapest (Hungary)

Prague for me is easily the most overrated place I've been. Czech women are beautiful but nowhere near the hype that has been given to them and the city itself although it's beautiful, it gets old really fast. Also, tons of xenophobic people from what I could hear from some guys there.

Most underrated: Cesky Krumlov (Czech Republic) and The Azore Islands

Most over rated: Prague and Buenos Aires

After spending time in Prague, Cesky Krumlov was a great alternative a few hours south by train. The castle and town are very picturesque and I even got to see one of the world's only Baroque theaters. People were great and it wasn't too touristy...

I visited the Azore islands this October and was really impressed with the people and amazing views. Cows out number the people, the landscape is amazing and the food tastes great (pineapple and cheese) . Hiking with my gf may have been the highlight of our trip at Lagoa do Fogo.

As far as prague being over rated, I couldnt stand all the selfie sticks and tourist traps on the charles bridge. Nightlife sucked too with it being a huge meatmarket and almost getting into multiple fights.

Buenos Aires was ok but I still never felt safe there even in Palermo Soho. My spanish is also not the best so that was a daily problem for me each day.

Overrated:

- Bangkok & Phuket: for obvious reasons;
- Beirut, Lebanon : women were nowhere near as hot as I imagined and I found Beirut to be a superficial imitation with no genuine core. On the plus side, easiest Arab women.

Underrated:
Brisbane + Gold Coast: I agree with the posters above Found Brisbane very pleasant and livable - def a place I would love to live in at some point. Gold Coast is slightly trashy but the beaches are magnificent - very different vibe to other Aus cities.

-Port Elizabeth, South Africa: Not known by tourists and if they do visit it's probably just the start/end point of the bigger Cape Garden Route drive. Small city of extremely friendly people filled with loads of decent quiet beaches and cheap real estate. Nice racial split of probably around1/3 white, 1/3 black, 29% mixed race and 4% indian. Least political city in South Africa with people just focused on living relaxed lives. Easy women (although I mainly daygame mixed race and Indian women). Would recommend if you're looking for some quiet relaxation.

For some reason I had a stupid " [Image: heart.gif] Hong Kong" phase during my 20s and kept going back there for the shitty crowded streets, average looking entitled local girls, and bottom barrel Phil maids. Also very expensive food and lodging.

My votes.
Overrated: Rome, Hong Kong, Paris
Underrated: Vietnam, Taiwan, Greece (not great for poosy, but cheap and great sightseeing)

Overrated

Atlanta, GA.

So much hype surrounding how "cool" the city was with the waves it was making (and still makes) in music, film industry leaving California to go there, so many sporting events going on, lots of strip clubs and it supposedly had a lot of attractive women. Apparently it was supposed to be the new Los Angeles, the new Austin and the future NYC....

I have had a chance to travel there a few times and even stay for a few months due to work.

Traffic was horrible, quality of women was below average, locals were rude and snotty, everything was spread out like Los Angeles is and the culture was largely urban thug rapper type with bars playing the same cringey southern rap on repeat. Place is so soul sucking that I hated every time I had to go there for work, its a poor man's LA.

Underrated

Columbus, OH.

I thought it would be a flyover college town without much going on, was surprised when I actually visited. Locals were really friendly, women were pretty decent looking even though its a far cry from being Miami and the bars were pretty good too. Not a big fan of the weather though but it was a lot better than I expected even though I came in with very low expectations.
